A customer request. The colors for brain cancer awareness are silver/grey and pearly white, so I came up with this Sweet Pea weave in silver and white with a freshwater pearl, crystals and awareness ribbon.

BODY AWARENESS

August 25 – September 23

by Annie Baker

Directed by Eleanor Holdridge

Featuring Michael Kramer, Susan Lynskey, Adi Stein and MaryBeth Wise

A touching comedy from the Obie Award-winning author of Circle Mirror Transformation. It’s Body Awareness Week at Shirley College, and the non-traditional Vermont family members Phyllis, Joyce and their possibly autistic son Jared are rocked by a visiting photographer and his ‘male gaze.’ As sexuality, identity, role modeling and political-correctness get stirred up, the results are both touching and hilarious.

The Hong Kong Maritime Museum is participating in Maritime Awareness Week in a number of ways. We will have a live demonstration about life rafts, visits by the HUD tug Tai O, and representatives from several maritime companies that will be promoting careers in the maritime field.

Welcoming all who may be interested to visit the Awareness Gallery by the SLRandom ArtCrew on the RydenShire region. This destination is an educational resource for various medical conditions that affect people on a day-to-day basis. Spread some understanding and kindness.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month. My Aunt died from it, my grandmother had it twice and had her breast removed and reconstructed. She got cancer a third time and didn't make it. I had a scare with breast cancer a few years back when my doctor found a lump. After seeing a few specialist I learned that I have " fibrocysic breasts" self breast exams are extremely important. Especially because I constantly have new lumps. I need to be able to differentiate between cysts and and cancerous lumps.

Please be aware... I am no stamp expert. Posted titles here are either what I was told when acquiring these or are from a simple Google search. I make no claim as to them being 100% accurate but I make an effort to be as factual as I am able when posting. There may well be some duplication of type or variety, but I try not to double post any single items. My feeble brain may slip on that from time to time. These are all from my semi worthless collection from over the years. Little to no value exists in most (if not all) of them. They are just a hobby.

The cat monk concentrates until the vortex forms.

The setup:

1. I put the cat statue on a ledge so the background would be dark and distant.

2. A SB-600 with omni-bounce attached, to the left of the statue.

3. A small desk lamp to the right of the statue.

4. 3 sticks of incense between the camera and the statue

5. Concentrate intensely until the smoke vortex forms in the upper right :-)

This is my completed piece for my CG 2 class picture collage project. I used digital painting to create the dragon and used photos from the internet to blend into the background and foreground of my piece. This overall message of my piece is mental illness, how it's like a dragon that feeds off of you constantly and how you need to not let that fear grow. Fight back and let that dragon know it's got another thing coming.

~ A principle of art used in my piece is balance. This is emphasized with the size of the dragon and how the images seem to relax on its wings, creating a sense of balance and proportion. The girl is centered in my piece and represents the balance between the flowers and the dragon.

Never assume you're not being watched. Even if you're a ninja.

This was a vignette I made as a sort of challenge to myself to make something that was 8x8 with no overlay but was quite tall.

I don't clean coins, but prior to coming my way I'd imagine some have been.

Campus Ministry at the University of Saint Mary hosted a Hunger Awareness event on April 9, 2014, wrapping up an entire week of hunger awareness activities.

Members of the Hunger Awareness Team discussed food security and world hunger statistics, and attendees drew slips of paper to determine what and how they would eat.

Two attendees were served a steak dinner at a finely set table and a handful of others ate pizza at smaller tables. The majority, though, ate rice and beans without utensils, while seated on tarps on the floor. This division of foods and eating situations was to represent the percentage of the world population with various levels of food security.

After eating, attendees passed around a microphone and discussed their feelings about the event and the lot that they drew.
