The Hong Kong Maritime Museum is participating in Maritime Awareness Week in a number of ways. We will have a live demonstration about life rafts, visits by the HUD tug Tai O, and representatives from several maritime companies that will be promoting careers in the maritime field.

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Social Services hosts a CalFresh Awareness Month (CFAM) community kickoff event at East Rancho Dominguez Park in Compton on May 4, 2022.
The County's CalFresh Awareness Month (CFAM) is annual campaign to help prevent food insecurity and promote healthy eating by informing County residents about the CalFresh Program. CalFresh is California's version of the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). This photo was used to help create awareness around my home town. I created a poster that I was able to post up in everyday places such as the post office, McDonald's and the schools around town. I asked for permission before I taped them up, and they were OK with the idea.
This was very important to me because my mother is struggling to survive from breast cancer. So creating awareness is the best I can do.

RAISING AWARENESS - The Decatur Eagle sixth grade football players, cheerleaders and coaches wore pink and yellow at their Oct. 16 game to show their support for the awareness of various types of cancer. Marc Semmelmann, father of cheerleader Emily Anne Semmelmann, is fighting bone cancer, and Leticia Lara, mother of football player Marc Lara, lost her battle with sarcoma Dec. 31, 2009. After the game, Coach Deroy Bennett presented Marc with a yellow rose and autographed football in memory of his mother. Coaches include Bennett, Randy Moon, Jeff Elder, Randy Bowker, Tony Grimes and Jason Ticknor. Cheer coaches are Brooklynn Stapleton and Celissa Watts.
The relationship between a coach and a player is really one of a kind, or so it has been proven for a lot of things. Right here, these kids did what they absolutely loved to: Play cricket! At the end of each session, they'd talk about different social problems and create a comfort zone around one another. They are taught about the harmful effects of drugs and alcohol, Sexually transmitted diseases and how one must be careful about these things.
They were even told of the importance of doing well in school. Most schools in better parts of the world have lessons to cater for different issues, not in the poorer parts of Guyana though, so there is a need to use every possible mean available...
