I had been observing this young male Red-tailed hawk perched in a Torrey Pine tree for about an hour when he suddenly decided to launch an attack a squirrel in the undergrowth below the tree.
I noticed the hawk had blood on his talons and later found out from another photographer (who had been in the area earlier) that the hawk had captured a squirrel that morning, but it had gotten away from him. When I took this shot, it was obvious the hawk was intent on recapturing his lost meal.
Agent Chase is about to pull the good old tow cable trick and send Dr. Inferno into an unforgettable "trip". To the scrapyard, surely.
Based on 8970 Robo Attack from the Agents theme, released in 2009.
-> Comparison
This set was released almost ten years ago, but the fun doesn't end here. In the past couple years we've been graced with some remarkable parts that you can see in this build. They're great for small scale details:
1x1 round plate with handle on bottom
1x1 round tile with bar on top
I just missed the shark eating a piece of tuna, but you can still see aggressive posture and a hint of the tuna in her gullet. It also has an interesting combination of motion blur on the body, but the teeth are perfectly sharp (in more ways than one). I also like the sun rays and the rainbow on the body.

"A dragon, sir! Cried Rowan. "I see a dragon approaching from the west!"
"Go get the wizard" Came the calm reply. "He should be somewhere in the town."
Rowan went to find Aidric. After finding him in the tavern (Naughty wizard!) Rowan explained why he had come to get him.
"A dragon! I saw a dragon heading from the west!"
"The black dragon?" Inquired Aidric. "The one attacking the farmhouse?"
"No." Rowan replied "This one is red."
As Rowan and Aidric walked up the path toward the tower, Aidric sees the dragon, now much closer than it was before.
"God help us." Whispered Aidric.
"What?! What's wrong?"
"A wyvern." Came the solemn reply. "A red wyvern. Very rare. Very dangerous."
"Behold wizard! Shouted the knights captain, Tristan. "The dragon approaches, can you ward him off with your magic?"
After a short pause, Aidric answered. "I can surely try"
Then the dragon flew faster, approaching the tower faster than possibly imagined. It swooped down, and let out a breath of fire. Engulfing the side of the tower.
A now familiar burst of green light emitted from Aidrics staff. And an invisible hand seemed to punch the dragon, causing it to fly backwards to regain balance.
"Your puny swords will do nothing to this dragon!" Aidric screamed to the knights on top of the tower. "Hide in the tower, and save yourselves!"
"I will not run in terror, while this dragon is attacking my tower!" Cried Tristan. "I would rather die bravely fighting, than hide like a little child!
"Same with me!" Said Espan.
"And me!" Replied Alan.
Aidric sighed in frustration. "Fine, fight if you must."
The dragon came flying in for another attack, but before Aidric said a word of the aincent language, Tristan flung his sword, straight toward the dragon. The dragon couldn't alter it's fast course, and it flew straight into the blade! The blade landed squarely in its eye!
The dragon let out a squeal, so loud that it temporarily deafened the knights closest to it!
"Well I'll be! Cried Aidric. "I can't believe it!"
Then he remembered the dragon was still alive, though hurting painfully. He said the most powerful spell he could muster, and from his staff came a giant fireball. Engulfing the dragon. The dragon became a giant flying fireball, and it flew away. Though not dead yet, Aidric knew it would die soon from it's wounds. Or another dragon would kill it, and eat it.
Later, while the towns inhabitants cheered for Aidric and the knights, a stranger in a black cloak waited in the shaodw. Silent.
He was evil. Pure evil.

Coots are not very friendly birds at all, always chasing each other or other birds.
This one I caught in the act, head down going at full speed, still some movement in his feet adding to the sense of urgency.
I plan to attack this massive Oak with my camera once a week for the next 52 weeks in 2010. My goal is simple; to make the same subject (an Oak tree) as interesting as possible as the seasons change in an attempt to heighten my creativity....
Toch maar verder eten, bij nader inzien.

Back Story .........................................
We'll skip all the getting there, feeding Mama,
BTP and preparing the many dog food bags.
What you see is five quick photos of a brutal
monkey attack on Miss Legs.
A few years back there was a nasty monkey
that was tagged with the name, "3 Fingers" !
3 Fingers attacked Mr Brown, Baby Ding Bat,
Mama, Tuff Guy, Girl Friend, Honey, Rocky an
a host of others. Well guess what ? 3 Fingers
just attacked Miss Legs and did bad damage !
Mama, Rocky and I are on the top two steps at
the spirit house. Miss Legs is waiting patiently
down below for her turn to climb the steps and
get her fair share of kibble and hot dogs.
Out of know where 3 Fingers comes flying in and
blindsides Legs .
Mama spins around to see what all the commotion
is about. See Rockys ear in the lower left of the
photo ? He keeps his big head pushed against my
leg at all times, blocking me from entering into the
ruckus, which I soon did anyway !
The next photos in this series of 5 are done so quick
it was all I could do to keep up with the attack.
My finger just pressed the shutter as an attempt was
made to point the lens at the target while standing up.
Standing you ask ?
Of course I had to stand first before screaming like a
wild banshee while leaping down the stairs two at a time.
3 Fingers had already split Miss Legs stomach open before
Mama, Rocky and I could reach her, and that only took him
a couple of seconds.3 Fingers backed off real fast when he
knew the Calvary was Coming !!!
First Aid Kit was retrieved, gauze and surgical tape is holding
Miss Legs together right now.
Neck wounds look superficial but her stomach wound is a
serious matter.
I'm on the two wheeled scooter today so a return trip is being
put in place as this text is typed.
No# 1 Wife is on the phone with the Nuns as to Legs condition.
Right now it looks like this is going to be a very long day !
Thank You.

Few warning signals in nature are as blatant as the colors of the Aquatic Coral Snake (Micrurus surinamensis), and for good reason: it possesses a highly potent neurotoxic venom. Unique among South American elapid snakes, its venom appears to be specialized for its favored prey of fish and eels, although can undoubtedly be fatal for mammals as well. They are, however, very non-aggressive and bite only when attacked or accidentally stepped on – the latter of which is rare thanks to their gaudy coloration. Yasuní National Park, Ecuador.
