This adult female Bald Eagle came flying out to chase away an Osprey that had flown in a little too close to the Eagle's nest.
1501 kicks out a fine head of steam as it starts the climb up Highley Bank. The nickname Raging Bull is well earned considering the noise it made too.
savute plains, a leopard is trying to approach a kudu .
those big cats have a slow approach technique during which a minimal error makes the hunting fail.
a leopard must approach about 10/15 meters from the prey to have a good chance..it then makes a brief and an explosive charge(uo to 60kmh) ,pounching on its prey and dispatching it with bite to the neck.leopards do not have the aptitude to chase their quarry over any kind of distance.many of their preys are faster and can be caught only with an ambush.despite what we think, researchers believe that each individual leopard accounts for 20/40 kills a year.
of course if preys are small or stolen from hyenas and lions they have to hunt much more.
the leopard intraspecific natural enemies are baboons (one of the leopard favorite meal too) ,hyenas and wild dogs can steal them the preys.
but only the male lions can catch and kill easily an adult leopard.
the lion females are used to attack leopards but usually with the purpose to intimidate them.lion females are more tolerant towards other animals not considered as food.
the lion males instead have an instinct that brings them to kill all the possible competitors and they do it.
in savute there are notorius lion prides and leopards must stay always on alert.
anyway the leopard remain maybe the most beautiful african predator ,a deadly form of perfection.

The first Monday of October is World Day of Bullying Prevention. This happens in schools, online, and even here on Flickr and SL. This post was inspired by Dax's song Joker.
So what's your excuse, what helps you sleep?
You leave a negative comment
Not knowing that what you sow, you will reap
I bet you smile when you post, thinking you're hurting me
But you see the way the brain works
You become what you speak
I need peace, but y'all can't offer that
I held my ground, I didn't sell my soul
I said f the fame, y'all can't take that offer back
F a shelf, you can't take me off the rack
All the fame is not worth a heart attack
You're insane, you're in pain, I can tell by what you're saying
But my bad, I forgot you were fragile
I forgot someone who doesn't even know me told you I'm an ahole
I forgot that I'm a villain
I forgot that I've always spread positivity, but you think I didn't
I forgot that hatred stems from people who hate their own existence
I forgot I'm better off alone
I forgot I care for everyone's happiness, but forget about my own
I forget I spend every waking second on my phone-
Come join my circus, I'm recruiting
I'm taking everyone who passes judgement
Bitch, that's including everyone who thinks it's so amusing
To put me down while I'm pursuing
The keyboard warriors that live online
Behind a screen that's just an illusion
Come, come, come, come join my circus
ごちそうさまでした(。☌ᴗ☌。)💕

🎼: Heart Attack ~ Demi Lovato~
Putting my defenses up
Cause I don’t wanna fall in love
If I ever did that
I think I’d have a heart attack
Never put my love out on the line
Never said yes to the right guy
Never had trouble getting what I want
But when it comes to you, I’m never good enough
When I don’t care
I can play ‘em like a Ken doll
Won’t wash my hair
Then make 'em bounce like a basketball
But you make me wanna act like a girl
Paint my nails and wear high heels
Yeah you, make me so nervous
That I just can’t hold your hand
(dang good thing I know CPR and more ... LOL)

I got the opportunity to see a Green Heron flying near our pond two evenings ago. I heard it before I saw it, so I knew to grab my camera and scan the sky. They're not very big, but they're unique so it wasn't too hard to find.
I was surprised to find some red-winged black birds chasing it through the sky, likely attacking as a way of protecting their babies and territory. (If you know, you know).
This is one of the pictures I managed to capture of one of the red-winged blackbirds going after the green heron as it tries to land on a tree.
It was fun to watch. I hope you enjoy the picture!

This young Mockingbird comes at Hilda or I when we go in our front yard. It will come so close you can feel the wind off it's wings. It can be in a tree in a neighbors yard and here it will come. We have Mockingbirds all the time and have never had one do this. I wish I had a camera with me a few days ago. It got after a squirrel and that squirrel took off.
Have a great weekend.
This male red squirrel (Bruce) flattened his ears because another squirrel went by at the base of that tree. The shot was taken just a moment before they started to chase each other (Squirrels-2019-9598.jpg)

Taken in July on the Farne Islands. I was using my camera to protect my head and thought hey, let's capture the little buggers while they attack. After taking around a hundred shots I had 2 I thought were good enough to keep!!!
Thank God for digital Cameras.
Gas masks displayed in the WW1 exhibition, Australian War Memorial, Canberra, ACT.
The Australian Imperial Force experienced gas attacks in most actions on the Western Front.
Gas bombardment of a wood at Messines led to 1,374 casualties, of which 310 were fatal.
Gas masks saved lives but also caused fatalities. They were extremely uncomfortable and hampered the movement of the men, inducing fatigue, disorientation and confusion.

The Pied Kingfisher (Ceryle rudis) is a water kingfisher and is found widely distributed across Africa and Asia. Its black and white plumage, crest and the habit of hovering over clear lakes and rivers before diving for fish make it distinctive. Males have a double band across the breast while females have a single gorget that is often broken in the middle. They are usually found in pairs or small family parties. When perched, they often bob their head and flick up their tail.
It is mainly a specialist fish-eater, although it will take crustaceans and large aquatic insects. It has evolved two unique strategies, shared by no other kingfishers. It usually hunts by hovering stationarily over the water and dives down bill first directly below to catch fish.
The Pied Kingfisher can also deal with prey without returning to a perch, and can, for example, catch a second fish, or eat small prey in flight. These adaptations mean that this kingfisher can hunt over the sea or in estuaries that lack the perches required by other kingfishers.
This handsome male Pied Kingfisher was photographed diving to catch it's prize at Lake Naivasha, Kenya.
We all have the same journey, existing and dying. Nature doing it, we don't need to do the killing-job of the nature for each other. Our enemies are sicknesses.

At the Castillo de San Marcos in St. Augustine, FL.
When the British attacked St. Augustine in summer 1740, they expected a quick and easy victory. They underestimated the strength of the Castillo de San Marcos and the courage of its Spanish defenders. After besieging the town for 38 days the British gave up and returned to Georgia.
