Doruma is a small town twenty kilometres south of Sudan. In October the Lord’s Resistance Army started a series of attacks against the local people that reached its bloodiest peak, so far, on Christmas day when hundreds were bludgeoned and hacked to death. People fled their villages to the relatively safety of Doruma which has swelled to three times its original number. The Congolese and Ugandan armies moved into defend the town about a month after the massacres.

On April 20, 2011 the Sony network was hacked and taken offline for 23 days.
The reason for the attack was Sony reducing the functionality of the PS3 already sold in market. GeoHolz created a "hack" to jailbreak the PS3 to allow the original functionality of the PS3 to use Linux. Sony then sued Geoholz and all the users downloading this hack/patch to the PS3. Anonymous hackers struck back and took down the Sony Network for 23 days. They left code saying "We are Legion". Sony claimed 77 million credit cards were stolen while the hackers proclaimed no numbers were stolen. This was the largest and longest hack in history to date.

The hack took 23 days based on the conspiracy of 23, a famous German hacker film. The phrase "We are Legion" comes from Mark 5:9 in the Bible referring to Jesus talking to the possessed. Legion refers to multiple demons. The symbol 5:9 and 23 are prominent in the painting.

Art of the Real
WW1 German trench raiders overrun an Australian trench. As they start clearing their way through the trench they are met with an Australian roadblock with a Lewis gun. The first troops are mowed down but the rest push on with steely determination killing any still alive.
I had a fairly crappy day ( although, it could be worse : I could being living amongst rubble & radiation in Japan...) ... so I went in search of my hawk friends last night and found this one
being harassed ...
I got a nice sequence of shots including the Mockingbird coming in to sit a few feet away from the hawk only to sit there looking at the hawk & "screaming" at it before taking off to dive-bomb the hawk again.
Eventually the hawk grew tired and flew away.
I found its mate later and grabbed a series of shots of it swooping down, grabbing,
and eating most of a frog before flying away
with 1 frog leg in its talons...
What a way to shed the work-day stress and frustrations ! :-)

The player fielded a varied squad including this jeep-as-frame with lots of move (6.5 litre engine) and spotting (headlights). But he made a last minute bumper-to-hand attack to take the electricity station.
Also pictured is a footless Hi-Leg, though he still retains his own H2H spikes.

Attack
CFB Shilo Ð Soldiers from Alpha Company, Task Force Warrior, run across the open ground as the attack on the village of Swaistan begins.
Western Defender 11 (WD11) was the 2011 Brigade Training Exercise for 38, 39 and 41 Canadian Brigade Groups and was held in Shilo, Manitoba 29 - 8 May 2011. WD11 provided the opportunity to field a Combined Arms Battle Group and also allowed all leaders and soldiers to work at a level that could not normally be achieved within their brigades, giving access to resources that are normally only provided at BTEs. Over 1200 soldiers participated, and all were assessed using Battle Task Standards, regardless of trade.

Plus de 1 200 soldats ont participé à cet exercice, et tous ont été évalués selon les normes d’aptitude au combat, quel que soit leur groupe professionnel.

This female mallard suddenly flew in and completely demolished this waterlily with vicious tugs of her beak and only flew off again when a small child yelled, 'Stop Duck. Stop', so it did.

Nissan Stadium / Riverfront - Marine Week – Downtown Nashville, Tennessee
The Marines invaded Downtown Nashville for a week back in September. The event was called Marine Week. I was fortunate to have some time to capture some images over a 3 day period. One of these days included a memorial for the 911 victims. By chance, I managed to capture some photos of US Senator Bob Corker and the Mayor of Nashville, Megan Barry. I was also fortunate to catch a mock invasion by air and sea. Out of almost 80 images, I will be posting just a few on Flickr. You can read about my adventure and see many more photos on my blog.
