The assignment was to capture 4 different subjects from 5 different angles, or points of view.
On the negative the top of the bridge is not cut off. I somehow managed to do that on the enlarger... Of course, it was the first time I've ever used one!
Canon 35mm film camera (Rebel EOS 2000), T-Max 400 film (was supposed to be 100, but that's all I had at the time).
Canon EF 28-80mm @f/16 (probably), and likely at the wide end.
Please, please critique!

Alta Gracia, Dominican Republic
Workers at the Alta Gracia factory, set up as a "fair wage" factory recently by Knights Apparel, which is one of the largest suppliers of t-shirts and sweatshirts to colleges in the US. This factory is paying workers a living wage, about 3.5 times more than they are paid in other factories clothing factories in the DR.
The clothes are sold at a slightly higher price with tags explaining to customers that Alta Gracia (also the name of the clothing line) pays the workers more.

Assignment: create a scene that looks more like what you saw than a photograph of the scene could otherwise convey.
Taken for Active Assignment Weekly
Assignment: "Not as intended by Manufacturer"
Dare: Shoot situations that are not your innovations
WIT: I came across the Dennoch on a pier. The Dennoch is a single man submarine built by a couple guys in a garage using a propane tank. Because it was a low budget project, the designers had to use a Spalding basketball to overcome some buoyancy challenges. What a creative idea !
The Dennoch was successfully tested at 400 feet of watch in Lake Tahoe, CA in 1989.

For this assignment I set up the statue against a blank wall in a dark room. I used a yellow light source which was below the statue and pointed it up at the subject. The light source was maybe a foot away from the subject. I wanted the statue to appear bigger than it actually was so I angled the light source to make it seem taller.

Wheels make the world go ‘round. For this assignment you are to capture the essence of this wonder of invention and seek out the wheels that make your world turn.
Restriction: To add some challenge, NO wheels that are intended to carry vehicles (cars, trucks, bikes, wagons, trains, etc.) are allowed.
The can opener is my friend and definitely makes my world go round, especially on camping trips!
WIT: Macro setting in natural window light (held white paper behind it to keep from getting reflections from room). Converted to black and white and played with sharpness, contrast, brightness, and level settings in Photoshop Elements with cropping.
This was one of my images for the first photography assignment - was trying to show how bad the drought is and how we need to take part in saving water.

For this assignment, I inspired my work by Barbers Krueger's photography style and used my Canon EOS Rebel T7 to take the photo. I first created a black-and-white photo as the background. Then, I added bold words, making them stand out by using a red background and white text. The message in my photograph is that people wear masks to hide their true selves, afraid of what people might think of them. I believe that most people in the world create masks to hide the parts people or even themselves may not like (e.g., insecurity about how they look, creating low self-esteem). I have worn a mask almost my entire life and have grown tired of it. I hope my message will reach those who have been hiding behind a mask like myself. I want to reassure them that it’s okay to embrace who you are and to get rid of the mask(s) you wear.
Took this one walking with Karen this morning. She reminded me that the further awayfrom the background Missy was the better the bluring

Saw these ~ which I actually pass every day on the way to work ~ on a clear sunny day and thought they would be perfect for this week's assignment. They are sculptures, in our city.
AE mode

I tried lots of aperture settings as it was so sunny. It didn't seem to make much difference but funnily, this slower shutter speed seemed to come out the clearest!
I also have a polaroid version here {inspired by the shots in the text book}

One time, when I went to school, I had this neat film photography class. During one of those classes all the students set up large background sheeting, portable lights, and modeled for each other for an assignment - portraiture.

I spent three days at Roy Chilem's racing stables in Tolga on the Atherton Tableland as part of an uprating ISO assignment for La Trobe University. I was hard going. I only had suitable lighting conditons for about an hour. The stable was also very busy, which added another layer of difficulty. I decided against getting Mel, Roy and Gary to stop working for pictures, which is why there is a lot of movement in the shots.
