Assignment 52 -- Experiments in aperture settings -- taken at f 4.8
Took several shots with narrow dof:
While I do not want to flog an idea to death, I was on a "sun in leaves" mission the other day, and wanted to catch these lovely red leaves....so I did! Case closed! (been watching Archie Bunker reruns)
In the first frame, a player stands at the perimeter to get a feel for the game's rhythm and the crowd's energy. Moving closer to the basket in the second frame, he scans the architecture and boundaries to get a true feel of the court. The third frame captures the decisive moment of him stepping into the court, transitioning from a bystander to an active participant. He begins pacing around the court in the fourth frame, finding his spacing and navigating through the other players. In the fifth frame, he finally gains possession, pausing to get a feel of the basketball before making a move. The narrative concludes in the sixth frame with him practicing his shot, fully immersed in the flow of the session.
Kaden got in trouble, so we "sent him to the corner." As you can see, I think he likes it there. No, he isn't peeing. (I hope)
Besides flowers, I shoot a lot of kids sports and this is literally my least favorite gym in town. It's tiny, dark, and has a blue tint (one game they didn't even have lights on). I spend a lot of time pre-game getting the ISO and white balance where I like it. This is still noisier than I'd ideally love, but for the conditions I'm OK with it. I ended up at ISO 1250, but had also tried 1600 and 1000. (85 mm lens, 1/640, f/2.0)

What it took: I just had to wait for someone to walk past in that area. I was in the cafe downstairs. I've just changed the contrast a little.

This was a reference to the previous assignment, where we had to make a 3D construct inside a supplied cake box, and imagine it was to be given to an inhabitant of Newbury, Berkshire.

1964 Buick Electra 225c.i.
Title says it all, Low Angle. Take a picture from a crouched, squatting or laying position. If I would have remembered the assignment when I went to the car show i would have tried to get a better picture.
So here is my first assignment picture of a 1964 Buick Electra from a crouched position, looking down the side of it focused on the front fender and the flake paint.

Alta Gracia, Dominican Republic
Workers at the Alta Gracia factory, set up as a "fair wage" factory recently by Knights Apparel, which is one of the largest suppliers of t-shirts and sweatshirts to colleges in the US. This factory is paying workers a living wage, about 3.5 times more than they are paid in other factories clothing factories in the DR.
The clothes are sold at a slightly higher price with tags explaining to customers that Alta Gracia (also the name of the clothing line) pays the workers more.

That nail is about to get what it deserves.
It took an awful lot of shots to get this.
1/40 sec + rear sync flash = motion effect.
Slightly manipulated in Photoshop.
Part of a school assignment for photography. 3 of 3 photos in a study of line.
Feedback and constructive criticism welcome!

Worried about Assignments??? ... Assignment Studio is one of the best solution for Research Paper, Assignments, Articles etc....
I came up with the pajama idea because the first time I took the photo, my daughter didn't really feel like taking pictures by doing her hair and getting dressed up. She wanted to do it in her pajamas that didn't really match, however, the pictures turned out blurry so when I suggested it a different day she wanted to do the pj's again. Since the pictures turned out blurry and I knew I was dealing with someone who wouldn't stay still for long I used a tripod. I opened up the window and used 4.5 so as to blurr the outside a little bit. I used ISO 200, 50mm, f/4.5 and 1/8 sec. In LR I did minimal changes to exposure+.95, contrast +10, highlights -12 and blacks +2.

War creates a lot of division in our world today, causing citizens of a certain culture to view others differently and often discriminately. However, it also brings to light different cultures and the way people in different regions look. Fashion takes this positive aspect and elevates it to another level. Although the man on the left is in New Delhi, India and the man on the right is in New York, New York, the style of clothing they are wearing are very similar but twisted to represent their own cultures. The man on the left is wearing a patka, a traditional head covering worn by Sikhs. The man on the right wears a very American hat, both minor details illustrating the two men's differences while looking very similar. According to The Levin Institute, a characteristic of globalization is the integration of people of different nations that affects people culturally. It is now very fashionable to incorporate clothing from different cultures into single outfits and be a walking representation of globalization.
When I saw these two photos, I thought it was really interesting how these two men were dressed in such similar yet distinct styles and in completely different cities so I thought putting the two portraits together represented a unity between the two while still maintaining their differences by a sharp change, not blurring the transition. The barbed wire represents the divides war creates, but the writing "fashion unites when war divides" is placed on top because fashion transcends the negative aspects war can create.
