For the Assignment 52 group challenge- depict this common saying. "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush". Meaning: that it is better to stick with something you already have, rather than pursuing something you may never get. Or in dog speak- Keep the ball you have because the others might just be a tease :-)
A52- Shooting without seeing challenge
Took this without looking at the display screen and it shows :-) But I still think it's funny. I was getting toward the end of my breakfast and he popped up to take a peek. I had my camera on the table and just turned it toward him and snapped this.
Big pile of fiber samples, wpi samples, sample skeins, swatches and leftovers. All of this (but the remnant yarncakes) have been mounted in my portfolio and shipped off for marking. On to the next unit: silk.
This is a big unit (exotic fibers) for year 4 of the OHS Spinning Certificate program (handspinning).

Assignment 52 -- Shape, as a two-dimensional construct, as opposed to three-dimensional form.
Very thought-provoking distinction.
Please excuse my recent lack of commenting. I was on an almost 3-week-long road trip, & just got back last night. Hope to be able to catch up---
Take a picture of the sun. Just a picture of the sun, nothing extra or fancy. Please make sure the sun is visible in the photo, we won't accept reflections of the sun or photos where the sun is not visible. Please be careful not to look directly at the sun through your camera's viewfinder; looking directly at the sun could damage your eyes. If you need to, just point the camera towards the sun and shoot the photo.

My kitchen
Just noticed that I have another assignment numbered 42, eh, whatever. I guess I wrecked the numbering system? I'll just go with the flow.
This is kind of cute.
I shot this photo for an assignment using different compositional elements. As a part of my marketing job, I'm often asked to go snap some photos of different events going on. This one was during a tour of a new building in construction for Interior Design students at the Centre for Technology in Kelowna.
Sadly, there's a pole coming out of the guys head, (there were poles everywhere!) but I only had a second to take this picture while the two people were lined up like that.
So today being Mother's Day I thought I'd do a theme along those lines... The china is the pattern we received at our wedding, and the silverware is a child's set, so the idea here is the children being embraced by the marriage. The tulip is just because it's pretty. LOL I also liked playing with the contrasting textures: the smooth china and shiny silverware, against the organic flower and bamboo placemat. Slight crop and 60% saturation reduction in PSE7.
