Assignment 52: Create a mood with color
Portrait of Po
(I'm out of town with intermittent internet access & quirky website blocks, & will try to catch up with commenting when I can----)
Ginger was a constantly moving target to try to capture for the portrait assignment of the photo silly class. She was quite a challenge to catch at a still moment as she explores the garden.
The assignment was to capture 4 different subjects from 5 different angles, or points of view.
On the negative the top of the bridge is not cut off. I somehow managed to do that on the enlarger... Of course, it was the first time I've ever used one!
Canon 35mm film camera (Rebel EOS 2000), T-Max 400 film (was supposed to be 100, but that's all I had at the time).
Canon EF 28-80mm @f/16 (probably), and likely at the wide end.
Please, please critique!

Workers at the Alta Gracia factory, set up as a "fair wage" factory recently by Knights Apparel, which is one of the largest suppliers of t-shirts and sweatshirts to colleges in the US. This factory is paying workers a living wage, about 3.5 times more than they are paid in other factories clothing factories in the DR.
The clothes are sold at a slightly higher price with tags explaining to customers that Alta Gracia (also the name of the clothing line) pays the workers more.

For this assignment I set up the statue against a blank wall in a dark room. I used a yellow light source which was below the statue and pointed it up at the subject. The light source was maybe a foot away from the subject. I wanted the statue to appear bigger than it actually was so I angled the light source to make it seem taller.

This was one of my images for the first photography assignment - was trying to show how bad the drought is and how we need to take part in saving water.

Assignment was to use the Pen tool to draw curves and lines tracing a photo of a lotus flower. I like the curves all right, but hate the straight lines in the center. Ah, well.
We had a shortlived mini blizzard going on...with huge fluffy flakes...which I keep trying to capture! ..blown up, I got tiny bokeh circles instead of flakes.....anyone have a setting for me? Or a focal point? I was shooting thru living room window and focused on the bush as being something out there in the area of the flakes.....
Assignment: Aperture: In this photo, I used a long depth of field, making the subject and the background in high focus.
Big pile of fiber samples, wpi samples, sample skeins, swatches and leftovers. All of this (but the remnant yarncakes) have been mounted in my portfolio and shipped off for marking. On to the next unit: silk.
This is a big unit (exotic fibers) for year 4 of the OHS Spinning Certificate program (handspinning).
Shot by Andrew for our light assignment. This was taken with my new macro lens during a power outage.
