ARTobject seen at the Museum of LIGHT ART in Unna... a wonderful place to visit...
Basic picture shows the mighty dunes of the German Island Sylt. I always feel very much inspired by water, sea and lakes. To be on the shore or on the beach is the best I can do for my soul and my body.

A huge sculpture, "The Morning Line", can be seen - and heard - on the forecourt of the Centre for Art and Media (ZKM) in Karlsruhe.
Contemporary, electro-acoustic compositions are played in the walk-in sound pavilion, which looks like an atom that has been blown open. The building was designed by the artist Matthew Ritchie and the architects Aranda/Lasch and Arup Agu.
The black, ten-metre-high and 20-metre-long construction made of coated aluminium can be heard from afar: 46 speakers and 12 subwoofers concealed in the sculpture are controlled via a central control unit. When visitors enter the pavilion, which is as delicate as it is powerful, they stand between two giant membranes that capture the sound.
Not sure why this was hung from a tree, but it caught my eye, so here it is. I see there is a tag hanging next to it but I did not check to see what it said.
The ladybug landed on a coaster, designed with flowers that I keep on my window sill. The coaster was made and designed by my Mom many years ago when she enjoyed a new art form in her Golden Years. The decoration is a bit worn and faded, but I think it adds to the beauty.
It is a keepsake along with other artwork she created, all very late in life through an art program in the senior's home she lived in for many years. I treasure everything she made! My mom claimed she had no artistic talent, but that is not true.
“A horned gentleman in amber tones, captured at the Devil’s Museum in Kaunas. Though resembling carved amber, the bust is more likely crafted from wood or resin or finished with an amber-like glaze — a nod to the Baltic region’s deep cultural ties to the ‘Baltic gold.’ With Van Dyke beard, pointed ears and elegant moustache, he’s more dapper than demonic.”

These were just tiny figures decorating a corner of someone's front yard, but they looked so cute, I had to take a photo.

The second attempt to photograph this art object has now been successful, the first attempt we were late on site and the light did not fit. This time we had our little Statistin with matching jacket while ;-)

Here the icicles clung to some tree branches along the waterfront of the Lakeshore in Pointe-Claire.
No one to sit on their pedestal, these wooden seagulls were perched alone in the rain and were at peace in the local park playground.
This clock was high up on a store building in downtown Vanvouver and shows all the months of the year. Now we are back in January at the start of the New Year 2018!
A tree outlined against the setting sun outside the window and my funny frog outdoor thermometer on the window pane inside. Curtain is pulled back for viewing.
The small reflections on the window are from my Christmas tree. I still have it up as it is pleasanter to look at than all the snow we have now, lol!
HAPPY WINDOW WEDNESDAY(S) !
Here, someone has decided to share their collection of small art objects and figurines with all of us who walk by.
CLICK 1X OR 2X ON THE IMAGE TO EXPLORE THE COLLECTION.
The pretty little (reversed) stained glass panes hanging above the collection identify the location of this window:
The pile of bricks in the left one is the ancient symbol of our village/town of Riehen.
The one on the right is harder to make out because of the light. However, it is a stylized bishop's staff. It is the ancient symbol of the half-canton of Basel-Stadt in which Riehen is located.
The bishop's staff symbol dates back to before the Protestant Reformation, when Basel was the seat of a Catholic Bishop. He was forced to flee during the Reformation. His successors are still called the Bishop of Basel, but their seat is now the adjacent (predominantly Catholic) Canton of Solothurn.
Location: Riehen BS Switzerland.

A favorite Millenium Park spot for locals and visitors alike, Cloud Gate, more commonly known as The Bean, on a cold Chicago night. Photographed by Steve West on January 4, 2013.
A display for the holiday season was made on every floor of our building directly opposite the elevators. It was a nice festive touch,
This house has a large fence for privacy and it was painted in bright colours to make it more attractive.
It was during the Silent Night before Christmas when the
Shepherds saw the Star shine over Bethlehem and were told of the birth of Jesus.. Christmas Eve is my favourite time to celebrate this holiday.
This shot was taken at a house opposite of where I am staying in LV area. They have a huge presentation every year on their corner lot. This is just part of one of the scenes.
A found Cabinet of wood with open and semi-closed doors to display some favourite objects d'art!. Someone put it into the basement of our building, I guess when they moved out. We liked it and I spent a bit of time cleaning it up with Lemon Oil and got any nicks and scratches out, so it looks like new again.
Walking outside in the sunshine along the Lakeshore in Pointe-Claire near Montreal, Que. I saw this huge Inukshuk built of bricks, stones and boards along the water areas. There were many smaller ones also along the shoreline. These structures exist all over CANADA and act as WELCOME SIGNS to travellers as well as a way to GUIDE them on their journey. They are usually built by First Nations people or Inuit peoples.
Another clock on the same building in downtown Vancouver shows the weather elements. We are now back in the blustery and foggy January weather, for the start of the New Year 2018!
Saw this rather unique coat rack base in an office which I had been too. It seemed worthy of a photo.
A wooden block puzzle with one of my images covered in encaustic medium, hand-painted with oil pastels. 6” x 7”.
In the back your can see the Enns belfry (1564-1568). 60 Meters high. A warm and sunny day, very windy.

... to have found a buddy to share time with in the local Garden areas, just the next one over. Now I won't be alone all the time!
This Chinese porcelain figurine of an acrobat makes a fine little candle holder. This photo is lit entirely by candle light.
A rather well known plaque honouring the herons in West Vancouver's waterfront area, as seen near the Dundareve Area of West Vancouver. Above this plaque is a weather sign which moves with the winds.
NB: The herons here fish right in the ocean waters near the shoreline and I see them very often on my walks.
Couldn't resist capturing these 2 little stuffed toys sitting on a bed to use as a Happy Valentine's Card to all my Flickr Friends. I hope you will have a wonderful and happy, loving day.!
NB: These little bears were sitting on my brother's bed for decoration. It will always remind me of him; he has Alzheimers, is almost 92 and in an East End Hospital in Montreal. We try to visit him as often as we can.
