Vacay Time
We left for Myrtle Beach today. We got to Kathy's condo around 8pm. Of course we went to 810 Billiards & Bowling for a few drinks with Ric!
I set up my Zoom to make step-by-step videos of my process. This also gives a full view of my makeshift spray booth
Almost Gig Time
Distorted Silence played Last Call tonight. Linda N from work was there with her friend Annette. They stayed the whole night and seemed to have fun! It was a great gig!
I met Tony Black for lunch today. He insisted on paying but I don't think he left a tip. I should have had cash to lay down a tip when he wasn't looking!
This quiet street combined well with the equally still and quiet sky caused by cloudy weather.
A simple picture of a small and mostly empty street, taken from an elevated walkway during cloudy weather.

Flowers seen hiking along the Palmer Rail Trail, Palmer, Alaska. There's a bee in the shot, too! Shot with iPhone 8 on June 3, 2022.
As I stared into the rising sun, it made me wonder, what kind of day will I expect? Will it be a bright sunny day, or a gloomy and cloudy one?
A picture of a mysterious sunrise that was a bright reddish-orange in color, blanketing the entire sky in a warm red hue.

Believe In Local Music
Julie donated a blood sample today to see if she has COVID-19 antibodies since she has been exposed to COVID positive patients (although she was always properly protected and has tested negative).
Earlier there was an albino squirrel in our backyard!
Free Bird Rehearsal
I am at Todd Greer's house for our first rehearsal of "Free Bird". He asked me to play guitar on it for his February 2nd gig at Woodlands Tavern. It became painfully clear while I was playing the ending solo that I need to build strength and agility in my left hand.
Staying Cool
Still taking my temperature daily and still not running a fever.
I got some Scott's EZ Seed to patch the lawn before the rain came today. Of course the rain was a light sprinkle at best. They say it will rain all weekend...we shall see.
Grill Master
We went to Byer's Airport Subaru today and test drove a Cross Treck and a Forester. It probably makes most sense to trade in the GTI toward a Forester but we will see.
When we got home I grilled steaks for dinner.
Remembrance
If this were a "normal" year we would have done the 9/11 Remembrance event at First Responders Park in Westerville then gone to lunch. Since we filmed Eric's segment for today's event in August we just met John for lunch.
I had taken Julie for a routine mandatory swab test this morning. When I got home from lunch her doctor called her and told her she tested positive for COVID-19. That means I can't do tonight's Distorted Silence gig at Ten Mile Inn, tomorrow's 1 Bad Mother gig in Newark, or any gigs or rehearsal next week! This SUCKS!
Another Pick Up
I met Rusty and Scott at Quaker Steak & Lube for All You Can Eat Wings night. It is also Scott's birthday so I bought his dinner. Then, it was pick up Julie!
Work Buddies
I am flanked by both dogs while I work from the couch!
I got the set lists generated for tomorrow's show, restrung my acoustic, and ran through a few calls. Then, Tony sent me a text saying he has to cancel tomorrow's gig due to the Blue Jackets playoff game. Ugh. If it's not COVID it's the Buckeyes or the Blue Jackets that cancel my gigs!
The front of the Ibanez Edge tremolo. Cool logo and I really dig the spring retainer.
Is it me, or is it bent a little on the right side?

Retrieving Mother
Dharma waits patiently in the back of the car as we wait for Julie.
Chris came over to clear the clog in Julie's shower then we did an impromptu Facebook Live broadcast. It was awesome.
Clean Gun
Alec and I finally sat down to field strip and clean my Smith & Wesson M&P9 M2.0. It was a nice bonding experience. Alec cleaned all of his handguns while I cleaned my one handgun!
Julie worked a 16-hour shift and we had Rooster's for dinner. It was from the Olentangy River Rd location since the 161 location was closed for cleaning.
The bridge arrived today! Back from Adam at FU-Tone. He "machined" the bridge so the holes lined up better. I returned an unused Vintage Strat Brass Block so he felt like he should give me something in exchange. So, I got a pack of strings, extra picks, and Lizard Spit products! Thanks, Adam! \m/
No Drinking
Julie and I went to India Oak for a late lunch. Earlier she asked if we could "not drink for a while". She ordered lemonade & vodka so I had a couple beers. You know...not drinking.
We went grocery shopping before lunch. We got steaks, corn on the cob, and asparagus for dinner.
Save Ferris
Tonight was my second patio gig at Local Roots with the Tim Farrel Band. We did a lot better than last time but there is still room for improvement.
This is the scene that greeted me outside a window.

Even late at night, this place comprised of numerous food stalls is still busy and vibrant, with many customers looking for delicious yet affordable food.

Woodshedding
Since I will be playing in the "house band" on Thursday, I need to bone up on songs I think I know and learn a few that I don't know.
Harper is not impressed.
Jason and Tony came over to jam today. I let Jason play through all of my tube amps and speaker cabinets. Tony brought more drums and drum stuff so he set up while Jason tested amps. We went to Roosters for lunch then came back and jammed a few tunes.
