A lovely honey bee, Apis mellifera, drinks nectar and collects white pollen from a spring flower. A colony of honey bees is made up of 90-95% worker bees which are female. She will probably only live about 6 to 8 weeks due to working so hard for the honey flow. In the winter time, they can live longer due to less work.
One third of fruits and vegetables are pollinated by the honey bee. And if you like almonds, well the honey bee is the only pollinator for that nut~so next time you see a honey bee don't swat or kill it, give it a virtual high five or fist pump for all the work she is doing!

SEMUA orang bahagia. Kembang api disulut di tepian pantai. Mereka semua bersorak di atas pasir putih. Seorang bule hanya memakai celana. Sedang kekasihnya memakai baju setengah dada. Mereka berpesta, laiaknya engkau baru saja diangkat menjadi manager, atau bahkan orang tua pacarmu baru saja merestui hubunganmu. Semua bersorak luar biasa meriah. Tentu rezeki nomplok bagi pedagang. Di akhir tahun seperti ini, cuaca tak bisa ditebak. Hujan kadang-kadang datang pagi-pagi sekali. Wisatawan yang berkunjung, menjadi tak tentu. Padahal saat ini adalaha musim liburan. Permasalahan baru muncul lantaran sulitnya memutar uang setoran. Beruntung, malam penghujung tahun, cuaca begitu mendukung. Entah itu mendukung turis-turis yang sengaja datang dari negeri jauh ke sini, atau mendukung perayaanmu atas kegembiraan atas jabatan baru dan tunjangan ahir tahun, bisa pula dukungan kepada para pedagang di sepanjang pesisir.
Sungguh tak masuk akal. Semua rela demi kembang api. Sepanjang jalan adalah bunyi klakson dan antrean mobil. Tak sedikitpun bisa bergerak. Diperkirakan sepanjang 5 kilometer, mengantre ribuan mobil, bus, dan bahkan truk yang mengangkut logistik. Seperti ular panjang yang tak kau ketahui bagian kepala dan ekornya. Pintu masuk tak dijaga petugas, mereka menyerah. Kewalahan mengatur deretan mobil yang tak bisa masuk ke dalam pantai.
Di pinggiran jalan, bocah berjualan minuman dingin. Seorang bapak kulihat menggendong bayinya, sembari berjualan ketupat sayur. Rezeki pula bagi bayi yang mungkin baru lahir beberapa bulan yang lalu ditinggal mati ibunya. Semua bersorak sebagai perayaan kemenangan. Mungkin akan ada kegembiraan yang melebihi percikan kembang api yang disulut tepat jam duabelas nanti. Dari Pak Bupati, Gubernur, tukang sapu, pedagang, anak muda, dan siapapun bersorak bersama-sama. Menghitung mundur angka, dan perayaan dimulai.
Namun tak diduga. Semua memang bisa saja datang secara tiba-tiba. Nyala kembang api yang begitu meriah, seperti siang yang kulihat begitu terang. Di tengah laut tepatnya, kulihat sesuatu yang teramat besar dan terlihat mengerikan. Menggulung kapal-kapal yang tengah berlayar. Air perlahan naik.
“Lari-lari! Lari-lari !“ teriak orang-orang. Seperti mereka, aku berlari menjauhi pantai. Masing-masing melupakan perayaan. Seperti riuh dentuman kembang api. Orang-orang meletup bersama-sama ke angkasa. ❑ – c

This statue, standing on a rectangular base, depicts a kneeling young man, holding a small shrine, naos, between his knees in which the deity Ptah-Sokar-Osiris can be seen in relief: a mummy-shaped human figure with a falcon's head and an Atef-crown, holding a long staff with a crooked end in his hands. The head of the young prince is covered with short, curled wig. The "lock of youth" on the right side is wrapped around with a decorative ribbon, and its curled end falls onto his right shoulder.
His back is covered with stylised panther skin. A vertical column of hieroglyphic text is engraved on the back pillar: "An offering, which the king gives to Osiris-Apis, the Foremost of the West, that he may give life, wealth and health to the Hereditary Prince of His Majesty, "the master-craftsman", the sem-priest of Ptah, the justified Shoshenq, the [eldest] son of the King of the Two Lands [...] Osorkon. His mother is Karama."
Therefore, the prince was the eldest son and heir of one of the rulers of the 22nd dynasty, Osorkon II.
Despite of his young age, he bore the title of the high-priest of Ptah ("the master-craftsman") . Unfortunately, not for long, he died while his father was still alive, hence he did not become the heir to the throne.

Rare photo of the first Titan/Centaur IIIE launch, 11 February 1974. The Titan stages burned as programmed; however, the Centaur stage failed to ignite, and the vehicle was destroyed by the Range Safety Officer. The new NASA rocket was launched on a "Proof of Concept" flight designed to prepare it for twin Viking launches to Mars in 1975 and other missions involving heavy unmanned payloads...to include Helios - AND - Voyagers 1 & 2. Launch was conducted by KSC's Unmanned Launch Operations Directorate.

The spring 2013 hackNY student hackathon brought in hundreds of students to Columbia University's Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science April 6-7 for 24 hours of creative collaborative hacking on New York City startups' APIs.
NYC Startups, selected by a student organizing committee, presented their technologies at the beginning of the event, after which students formed groups to work through the night implementing their own ideas for fresh hacks built on top of these APIs.
On Sunday afternoon students presented their projects to an audience including a judging panel featuring members of the NYC startup community, which selected the final winning teams.
Since April 2010, hackNY hosts student hackathons one each semester, as well as the hackNY Fellows program, a structured internship which pairs quantitative and computational students with startups which can demonstrate a strong mentoring environment: a problem for a student to work on, a person to mentor them, and a place for them to work. Startups selected to host a student compensate student Fellows. Students enjoy free housing together and a pedagogical lecture series to introduce them to the ins and outs of joining and founding a startup in NYC.
