Erotic stone carving at the Konark Sun Temple (India)

Gli attivisti hanno protestato mostrando uno striscione con la scritta “Stop ai pesticidi – Salviamo le api”, impugnando cartelli e scandendo slogan come “Niente api, niente cibo”.

I have an allergy to bee stings, but for some reason have never been afraid of them. I also don't carry an epipen which is probably ill advised when photographing bees. There's a large crab apple tree outside my front door which is flush with blossoms and covered with these busy little girls hard at work- for the next little while at least.
Mesabatan Api is where young men run through fire as part of the Balinese Hindu annual cleansing ritual (Tawur Kesanga). It takes place the day before Nyepi, when the Balinese new year begins.
Apis was the most important bull deity in Egypt. Apis had to meet certain appearance requirements. One of them was a triangular pale spot on the forehead engraved on this statue as well. At its head Apis has a sun disk and in front of it is a Uraeus-serpent.
