My 20th secret is this: I spend the majority of my life tidying my bedroom.
I'm a natural born messy girl. I try not to be. I try my very very hardest not to be messy. And I do succeed. Whenever I am away on holiday or on a mini-break somewhere, I keep my luggage and things in a orderly fashion. Or that time I lived in Cambridge, my bedroom over there was amazingly spotless [weekly hovering too!]
But here at home, in my natural habitat: I am messy as can be. I don't know why. I haven't the foggiest idea why.
I also remember I featured my messy bedroom for day 21 earlier on in the project. Hah. Funny that.
My bestfriends can swear for a fact that I spend the majority of my life TRYING to tidy my room.
Sure, I do tidy it. It ends up tidy. But then somehow, somewhere, down the line, it gets messy again. Give or take 24-48 hours.
Sometimes I know why. It's lack of space. Too much clutter. Hoarding too much sentimental stuff [a hereditary problem I have inherited from the motherhood], keeping things in order to be more frugal--that type of thing!
But also, when I clear a space, [everyone loves space right?] my mother takes it as an opportunity to cease that space and PUT something there!
For instance, if my bedroom floor is spotless and clear, she will put something in here "for the time being" and it stays there until kingdom come (when things start piling on top and then my bedroom hints to me it needs a tidy!)
My mother has gone away to Los Angeles for a while. So I've taken this opportunity to tidy my room once and for all. Also because I know if she were here she'd be rummaging through all my bags of stuff I'm to chuck out [donating a load of junk to charity shops!] She'd rescue the junk and store it somewhere, most likely in my room again! lol. So am chucking out all my junk [systematically, before I pause and get emotional and remind myself about the memories of such book or such product, which may ultimately lead me to rescuing it! uh oh!]
I'm still in the process of going through everything! And I've just managed to go through all my 3 years' worth of Uni degree notes! Oh the paper!

Наверное каждый уже читал или слышал про стучащихся во все двери продавцов ненужных вещей по многократно накрученной цене. То ли кризис их подкосил, но стало их очень мало. Зато много стало пенсионных аферистов. Учитывая отсутствие свободных денег на руках населения они хотят хотя бы пенсионные накопления. Наверное этим и объясняется рост их активности в последнее время. Работают они по подъездам, обходя квартиры подряд. Где-то их посылают, где-то они находят благодатную почву. Конечно удача не часто улыбается им, все же в рабочее время искать не пенсионеров по домам несколько странное решение. При этом количество ходоков не сокращается. Сколько же они получают, почему они выбрали эту работу и какова их методика?
Вербовка
Идея впаривать ненужное населению считается неблагодарной. Одно дело помогать покупателям в магазине, другое дело бегать по подъездам. К тому же некоторая порядочность станет препятствием к обману людей. Человек, ищущий работу, обычно откидывает все вакансии такого плана. Организаторы этой деятельности работают хитрее. Они размещают нормальные вакансии и зовут на собеседование, которое носит формальный характер. Так люди к ним и попадают. Особым плюсом тут является обещание ежедневной или еженедельной оплаты, поэтому человек не думает, что его кинут.
Как перепутать работу
Кажется странным, но до последнего момента человеку пудрят мозги. Сначала руководитель скажет, что завтра (или через день) нужно пройти стажировку. Это тоже логично и естественно. Придя в назначенное время можно заметить первый странный момент. На стажировку пришло очень много народу, впрочем на разные вакансии. "Опытные сотрудники" берут с собой по 3 стажера и едут с ними. Рассказавший мне эту историю человек интересовался вакансией супервайзера, ему встретились претенденты на логиста в команде. Уже дорогой старший товарищ сообщает, что едут они заключать пенсионные договоры. Логичное удивление стажеров он успокаивает тем, что в фирме очень много направлений, поэтому кому кого распределили. Да и суть стажировки не столько в осмыслении работы, сколько в том, чтобы познакомиться с ним, чтобы он написал характеристику для начальника. Это вторая странность, но ушел только 1. "Остались мы с логистом".
Как сменить профиль?
Наверняка у любого возникнет вопрос, что мол страшного, если люди походят вместе с пенсионным агентом, а потом будут работать на своей должности? На самом деле контора не заинтересована в какой либо иной должности. Для того, чтобы убедить работать здесь используются следующие факты:
при обещанной посуточной работе зарплата составляет всего 1500р
в случае экспедитора она включает и перенос грузов, а супервайзеру предлагается кататься по 20 точкам города для контроля подчиненных
за 1 договор агент получает 700р на руки. мы обошли несколько домиков народной стройки. времени ушло много, часов 6, а договоров у нас вышло только 5. хотя это уже 3500 задень. таким образом демонстрируется, мол вот работа попроще и получше
действующий сотрудник хвастается, что он "тяжелее х** в руках ничего не держал" и регулярно удивляется, "что ж вы все не на эту вакансию".
"я уже понимаю, что это все развод, но мне становится интересно, что же будет дальше." А дальше в конце рабочего дня опытный сотрудник задает стажерам вопрос, где бы я так за день срубил.
в принципе ожидаемой реакцией для организаторов такой работы является желание попробовать себя в роли такого агента, однако выраженное несогласие с такой деятельностью, очевидно, было передано в характеристике, так что моему рассказчику так и не позвонили. этого говорит еще об одном моменте: учитывая сложную ситуацию на рынке вакансий, многие люди уже давно не имеют работу. Вполне возможно, что денег нет даже на питание и жкх. Поэтому они не могут ждать месяц и ищут работу с посуточной оплатой. Тут выбирать не приходится. Вполне возможно, что кто-то останется, а потом втягивается.
Почему все же нет?
Мне трудно угадать за всех, мой товарищ не стал по этическим соображениям. Да и глупо это, когда размер дохода зависит не от тебя, а от того, если в доме люди нужного возраста, да еще и в рабочее время. При этом нужно, чтобы тебя не опередили конкуренты, люди захотели с тобой говорить и у них были с собой документы. Как можно догадаться, работающие люди дома в будни днем не сидят, если они не посменно работают. В противном случае они спят и видеть гостей не желают. Кто-то занимается с детьми, а кто-то и убегает из дома. Рассчитывать всерьез на заработок не стоит, к тому же я более чем уверен, что на стажировку водят наиболее успешные агенты в наиболее вкусные районы.
Как же действуют мошенники
Для начала следует сказать, в чем заключается мошенничество, а потом привести пример конкретных фраз. Суть деятельности агента в том, чтобы заключить договор, по которому деньги подписавшего уйдут в какой-то фонд. Фондов много, условия разные, агент не скрывает, что периодически они меняются. На самом деле человек может и правда выбрать НПФ на свой вкус, изучив отзывы, ставки и все такое. Фонд выбирается раз в год. Чаще нельзя. Однако менять его можно каждый год. При этом агент будет уверять, что на каждый год требуется заключать новый договор. То есть если человек говорит, что например в 2013 уже перевелся в какой-то НПФ, то агент его склоняет подписать договор на новый год, то есть фактически уйти, при этом уверяя, что все будет хорошо, а процент начислят и его фонд, и новый. Диалог начинается с трех вопросов, логичный ответ на каждый из которых да. Это психологический прием,после которого человек сам уже больше настроен на контакт:
возраст 26-45?
гражданин рф?
зелененькое свидетельство получали?
Никогда агент не говорит о НПФ сам. Цель визита называет как "проверить, что ваши сбережения не уйдут под ноль". Иногда из-за двери слышится, что "нам ничего не надо", ибо ходят такие по одному участку не единожды. На это он отвечает, "а я вам ничего и не предлагаю, это просто проверка". Главное для него заполучить в руки пенсионное свидетельство, тогда он звонит и уточняет, нет ли заявки на этот год. Обычно дальше уже дело техники. Как уже было отмечено ранее, люди часто куда-то торопятся и заняты, о чем так же сообщают. Стараясь попасть с ними на одну волу, агент заявляет, мол я тоже не более 2 минут уделить могу, хотя все процедуры занимают около 10. До сих пор встречается немало людей, которые верят в то, что государство точно не кинет, поэтому категорически не доверяют частным фондам и банкам. Оставив за рамками вопрос выбора надежного банка или ПФ, обратимся еще к одному факту вранья: агент заявляет, что "ваши деньги все равной уйдут в наш фонд, просто вы процента не получите".
Это еще не все
Неизвестно, личная ли инициатива агента, его начальника или НПФ, но кроме заполнения договора агент фотографирует страницы паспорта и СНИЛС на телефон. Иногда встречает неудовольствие людей, на которое отвечает, мол надо для отчетности. Как потом эти фотографии используются, остается только догадываться. Может на них будут взяты кредиты, а может даже открыты подставные организации. Даже если сами работники не пользуются ими в таких целях, кто знает, смогут ли они обеспечить должную безопасность при их хранении? В гугле немало ищется сканов паспортов из-за безответственного отношения к персональным данным.
Обман везде
Неизвестно, что и как с оплатой. До этого этапа товарищ не дошел. Но если компания обманывает и клиентов, и сотрудников, ждать от нее чего-то хорошего не стоит.

My 12th secret is this: My last boyfriend was when I was 13.
That's right folks. That's nearly 10 years ago. Shocking. Shocking. I know.
It's taken me nearly 10 years to accept that I'm not lucky in terms of love. Never have been. And most likely, never will be, I don't think, anyway.
Some guy who I was highly attracted to last year, once told me some wise words of advice: (it's) like boiling water. It boils faster when you're focusing on something else rather than staring at the water waiting for the bubbles. You're making an issue out of something that should be left to magic. Magic only happens when you're distracted by something else ;)
It's funny because it was him telling me to be more patient. And I'm anything but patient when it comes to attraction. [Ally once said I was patient. But actually I beg to differ. It may appear to look like patience. But underneath the Ansy-layer I am anything but patient].
Right now I can't be bothered. Sometimes I think about affairs of the heart. But nowadays it's calmed down a bit more. Especially since discovering the little mix up with the guys giving off wrong signals/vibes which I pick up as vibes of attraction, but turn out to be other vibes.. Silly guys.
The first boyfriend was a stupid stupid messy thing. Wasted 2 months of my life. Messed me up big time. But I was young. And the second but last one was a rebound boy. A male bestfriend which ultimately meant throwing the friendship in the bin afterwards. It was stupid. And finished after 2 weeks or so. Which meant a friendship lost too, even to this day he rejects me.
You could say it's a good thing I haven't had a boyfriend since. It could've messed me up big time. But then not having one has also messed me up too. Hmmm!
Yet you can't blame me for living by the motto "Embracing spinsterhood with open arms!" eh? I can't be bothered. It's funny because during my teen years and uni days amongst myself and my girlfriends boy-girl-relationships mattered a lot. But Ally didn't care much for it. Today it's the reverse. It matters to Ally, but I don't give a damn anymore. Hah.

Жидкий хлеб сейчас можно встретить в любом продуктовом магазине. Какое же пиво самое популярное? Как говорится, на вкус и цвет все фломастеры разные, а о вкусах не спорят.
В бюджетной категории в Нижнем популярно Окское. Его можно встретить практически везде. Производится оно на заводе Волга, расположенном на берегу ОкиЭэ Это вид противоположного берега, примерно напротив Дворца спорта. Вот такие опоры ЛЭП.
Вернемся же к заводу: на его территории расположены как новые, так и старые корпуса.Завод был построен (в определенной комплектации) еще до войны. Сейчас новый собственник (компания Хайникен) добавила новых и отремонтировала старые корпуса.
Пиво начинается с солода(зерен ячменя) и хмелевых шишечек. Сорта бывают разные, это и определит вкус и аромат напитка. Сначала производится сусло. Это в прямом смысле жидкий хлеб. В нем еще нет алкоголя. В горячем цехе берутся пробы, вот и гостям предложили попробовать этот недоступный вне стен завода раствор. Весь процесс производится в огромных сосудах, внутри которых сырье нагревается и вращается.
Помыть посуду? Нет ничего проще. Здесь пользуются такой солидной установкой.
Впро Впрочем основательность подхода не заканчивается мытьем посуды, здесь даже компы специальные. Эта табличка предупреждает вредителей, что на точке контроля им опасно показываться. Спускаясь по лестнице оценим внушительную глубину цистерн для варки. Если есть горячий, то логично ожидать и холодный цех. В нем полуфабрикаты встречаются с дрожжами и начинается процесс брожения, а также фильтрация.
Прежде, чем переместиться в цех розлива, важно отметить форму сосудов для сбраживания. Окское и другие сорта, кроме Хайникена, бродят в вертикальных бочках. Heiniken предполагает специальные дрожжи, которые не выдерживают такого давления и лопаются. Поэтому для этого сорта применяют горизонтально расположенные резервуары. Кстати, это почти что уникальное сооружение есть только в Нижнем Новгороде и Санкт-Петербурге. Это не пробирки, это будущие бутылки на 1,5 литра. Сюда они приходят в таком компактном виде, а затем надуваются горячим воздухом.
Кроме пластиковых бутылок используются стеклянные и жестяные банки. Они приходят полностью готовыми.
Пиво разливается и пастеризуется уже в таре. Для этого есть конвейер, на котором происходит омывание упаковки в специальных камерах, где изменяется температура водных струй.

Банки приходят без верха, после наливки он запаивается. Из-за этого возникает необходимость переворота банок на конвейере.

A lot of the time, when talking on IM with friends, I ask them something, or ask for a favour, or ask for them to send me something, the one word that they always say is this:
Hang on
So I sit here, on this side of the computer screen, hanging on. But I always wonder what I should hang on to. I am always tempted to ask them what I should hang on to.
I did once, out of curiosity. And that friend told me to hang on to the table.
Not too happy about this 365 photo. I know it could've been a lot better, but these days I've been really short for time. So I'm trying my best to hang on, because psychologically, I'm right on the edge of the cliff trying to hang on for dear life! Argh! So much stuff to do! So little time!
There's a song that I really really like. It's "Everything will be alright" by the Killers [I've never been a fan though, but this is the only song I have gotten to put on repeat lately, so that's a good thing!]
It's nice to listen to these types of songs, a great reminder that everything will be alright in the end :) Even if my head is screwed up, or back to front.
I finally got more acquainted with one of the missionary workers our church support, this morning. She inspires me so much. She and I have so much in common, coming from a large family and all. I'm glad we hung out today, mainly because her faith is so massive, and her hope is so tremendous and her love for JC is unfathomable.
But she is a prime example that everything will end up being alright, and reminded me that God will provide. The things we pray for, if they are according to God's will, he will provide. If God doesn't provide it's a clear sign we weren't meant to have it.
Yep. Everything will be alright, everything.
most interesting part is their roots form a vast network, like the aspen do and the canada thistles, and ansy, too,
three plants that grow where there is good sub irrigation, where the summer does not dry things out, too bad that climate change makes the droughts earlier, and longer but at least these large organisms can pick the best corners of their network to grow new shoots.
We had good luck seeing new shoots in several places once we started to irrigate in the dry season.
Basically, I'm somewhere between 5 stone (33kg) and 19 stone (120kg)...But I'm still not confident enough to show and tell... My weight is just a secret, and only God and I know... But still, I must diet :(
Funnily enough I weighed about 4lbs more than normal when I was holding my camera! Wow my camera is so heavy!
Maybe I should do something similar on my fingernails to stop me from reaching over to unnecessary junk food...

Santo Domingo de la Calzada és una població situada al costat del riu Oja, que dóna nom a la regió, en el trajecte del camí de Santiago.
El seu nom i fundació provenen de Domingo García, després canonitzat com a Santo Domingo de la Calzada, qui creà un pont, un hospital i un alberg de peregrins, per a facilitar el seu pas cap a Santiago de Compostela, al voltant de l'any 1045.
És famosa la dita de "Santo Domingo de la Calzada, donde cantó la gallina después de asada", gràcies a un miracle atribuït al sant. En record d'aquesta llegenda es guarda permanentment a la catedral un gall i una gallina, en un galliner construït amb forja.
La Catedral va ser començada, segons els "Anales Compostelanos", l'any 1158, amb la finalitat d'acollir les restes d'un dels sants més coneguts i venerats en el Camí de Santiago, Santo Domingo de la Calzada, mort en l'any 1109.
El mestre Garçión, possiblement d'origen francès, va projectar un gran temple tardorromànic d'acord amb la importància del lloc, i del que encara es conserven importants vestigis, en concret la capçalera i el disseny de la resta del temple. Des del punt de vista arquitectònic destaca la seva estructura, amb una capçalera amb deambulatori que circumda el presbiteri, i tres capelles absidals de les que només la central és de les originals. Pel que fa a l'escultura d'aquesta part de la catedral, cal destacar per la seva importància tota la sèrie de capitells historiats del deambulatori i sobretot les quatre pilastres decorades que donen al presbiteri. En elles s'ha vist representat un arbre de Jessè destacant per la seva qualitat les imatges de la Santíssima Trinitat i d'un Rei David músic.
El cor de la catedral és una gran peça plateresca realitzada en la dècada de 1520 per Andrés de Nájera i Guillén d'Holanda, entre d'altres. La qualitat de les seves talles s'aprecia en els treballs de delicats calats o en la marqueteria dels seus setials. Els relleus de les cadires representen figures de sants i santes. Presidint, a la cadira abacial, es troba Santo Domingo. També és digne de ressenyar l'interessant programa simbòlic de tot el conjunt, reafirmat per una sèrie de sentències inscrites en molts dels respatllers.
El sepulcre de Santo Domingo de la Calzada és una obra en la qual conflueixen diversos estils per ser possiblement fruit de la unió de peces de tres sepulcres diferents. Romànica és la lauda sepulcral en la qual es representa al Sant jacent, gòtica és la taula en la qual es narren els seus miracles, i tardogòtic és el templet. Aquest va ser dissenyat per Felipe Vigarny i realitzat per Juan de Rasines en 1513.
El galliner, on s'aixopluguen el gall i la gallina com a record del famós miracle, és d'estil gòtic del segle XV.
Altres obres importants de la catedral són les capelles funeràries de Santa Teresa i de la Magdalena. La primera conté diversos sepulcres gòtics, el del centre de Pedro Suárez de Figueroa, i un bell retaule de pintura sobre taula de finals del segle XV. La segona és força menor en grandària però igualment interessant ja que és d'un estil proper al del gran escultor Felipe Vigarny. És d'estil gòtic tardà i en ella està enterrat Pedro de Carranza, maestrescola de la Catedral de Burgos. Destaca el sepulcre, la reixa i el petit retaule del pintor de l'època León Picardo.
El claustre és una obra gòtic-mudèjar en el qual destaca la sala capitular pel seu cadirat del segle XVII i per la seva enteixinat mudèjar com a sostre. S'hi exposen valuoses obres d'art com tríptics flamencs, orfebreria i altres importants peces escultòriques.
La llegenda del gall i la gallina
Al segle XIV pelegrina a Compostela Hugonell, un jove alemany de 18 anys que va acompanyat pels seus pares. En la fonda on s'allotgen treballa una noia jove que s'enamora d'ell i li requereix d'amors, al que el noi es nega. Despitada i amb ànsies de venjança, guarda al sarró del jove una copa de plata i després l'acusa de robatori.
El jove Hugonell i els seus pares es disposen a partir per seguir el pelegrinatge, quan arriba la justícia i comproven l'acusació registrant el sarró del noi. El declaren culpable i és condemnat a la forca. Els pares no poden fer res per ell més que resar a Santiago. De retorn a Alemanya, a l'acostar-se al cos penjat del seu fill per acomiadar-se senten com aquest els parla des de la forca i els diu que està viu per la gràcia del Sant.
Feliços i contents van a comunicar la notícia al corregidor que, just en aquest moment, està sopant opíparament unes aus. El corregidor naturalment es burla del que sent i llança la frase coneguda: «El vostre fill està tan viu com aquest gall i aquesta gallina que em disposava a menjar abans que em importunarais». I en aquest moment, les aus salten del plat i es posen a cantar i cloquejar alegrement.
D'aquesta llegenda va néixer la dita popular: «En Santo Domingo de la Calzada, donde cantó la gallina después de asada». Es tracta d'una llegenda molt similar a la Llegenda del Gall de Barcelos i probablement les dues tinguin un origen comú.

I have a friend who is a cotton wool kid. She has the most paranoid parents ever.
The father gets freaked out, because God-forbid someone should break into their house. He has security alarms, double locks on the front door, locks on the kitchen door (should someone smash their kitchen window and break in that way?!) Forced the mother to clear out the garage just so he could park his precious car [not that the insurance is as much as the house itself] while he goes on holiday. Oh. And because of the father's paranoia, their family have never ever been on a family holiday because typically someone in the family has to "house sit" or, man the house in fear that someone should find the house empty and simply break in and steal all the contents.
The father, before leaving the house unattended for say a few hours of a day, checks the windows are ALL closed and locked. Checks the back door. The gas has been switched off. No computers running. Checks every single minute detail, because God-forbid someone should break in in the next 2-4 hours what with the house being empty!
Oh and the mother! God-forbid the children should have their ear's pierced in fear of ruining their pretty ears, or getting some nasty injection. No no.
And God-forbid her children not calling her when they aren't home after a certain time of say mid-night.
And God-forbid her children should learn to ride a bike from a young age, in fear of getting knocked down on the road or something.
And God-forbid her children forgetting to call just to tell her they've reached the holiday destination safe and sound.
And God-forbid her children should leave home, especially at night, just in case someone should attack and harm her children. Wouldn't want that happening, so no walking in the dark alone! Girls, fair enough, but not even her son! Oh no no!
And do be careful when going on board a flight. Don't talk to strangers. Call home. Check all luggage. Check this and that.
And God-forbid her children should stay out until the break of dawn, in fear of getting pregnant. Or getting up to no good that would let down the face of the family.
And finally, God-forbid her daughter should post up a semi-nude picture online for everyone on the internet to see. The world would see it all! Oh no!
Parents that over-protect, jump to conclusion, never ever listen... I wonder why God created such beings...
I wonder, how do you gently tell your family you don't want them to be part of your internet life, on blogs, photo blogs and all things virtual in general whilst they are part of their real life? The only form of escapism from annoying family members, is to come here online, yet you still find, family members on here??? Family affects us all in reality. But how far is too far when they start affecting you virtually too? It'd be alright if it they kept virtual with virtual and real life with real life. But sadly my mother has discovered a quick and easy way to find out what I've been up to on my flickr. Oh the power of google search and the keyword "Ansy"....
In my honest opinion, I view home a very very important aspect in my life.

A home really reflects your life, and it can help build you up or tear you down.
Some people have a messy home - they’re used to that. But it could bring about more chaos when you can never find anything.
Some people are really uptight and OCD about their home - so much so they get stressed with a little bit of dirt.
I am not in either category, I stand in the middle, a little messy, but organized, not OCD, but organized piles of mess.
When I first arrived in Taiwan, I was homeless for 2 months, I lived out of my suitcase, staying with a couple in their kinda crazy-messy apartment [the extreme case!] It really got me down because all I wanted was organization, my own space and place, and making my place MY home.
Initially my first roomie was the one that really convinced me that the current place I have has a lot, A LOT of potential. Despite my dislike of the bathroom tiles, the space was good throughout the apartment, spacious rooms, flexibility of making this home my home because it didn’t come with furniture [but then it meant having to spend a lot of money investing in it!]
My home is my home, and I’ve been happy just being at home, socializing with friends at home, being alone at home, chilling at home. Whatever.
Even going home during a busy day, for as little as 5 minutes, it can help me recover and feel rejuvenated--ready to continue being busy for the rest of the day.
My apartment building is old, out-dated, in a poor working-class neighbourhood, but it’s safe. A few temples here and there. But I’ve tried my utmost best to make this place into a unique place.
Some friends may judge me and my home, it’s not glam, no fancy elevator, poor neighbourhood, traditional taiwanese place, and I do get sad because I compare myself to other better places. Sometimes I *do* feel insecure with letting people visit. But I’ve gradually learnt not to care, after all, I’m paying like a small fraction of the price in rent compared to most people. So it’s all good. And the location is pretty good -- near a day market, near a night market, and about 2 minutes walk away from my work place-- which means I can always pop home for a power-nap or even grab something to eat during break time!
I had a friend stay with me recently, as soon as she stepped in to the apartment, she said “Wow! What a haven!” And that made me think, yeh, it’s important to have a haven here in Taiwan, especially when you’re millions and millions of miles away from home, i.e. the west. You don’t have such a comfortable time immersing yourself in the crazy intense culture.
Sometimes all you need is a haven, where you’ve spent time making your home into a home.
It helps you adjust to living overseas, I think. It helps you cope. Helps you be of great use here. In comparison to someone who is living in a place that is really badly maintained-no personality-makes you feel like it’s a temporary station and generally not motivating you and helping your wellbeing....
Home is a haven. And this home is my haven!

A la façana de la Casa de la Cofradía del Santo figuren els escuts del Corregidor de la ciutat, Diego de Ocio y Vallejo, i el de la seva esposa, que la van fer edificar vers 1556. Des de 1968 és l'Alberg de Pelegrins i seu de la confraria assistencial més antiga del Camí de Santiago. Fundada per Santo Domingo de la Calzada al segle XI, compta amb museu i un dels millors albergs a la Ruta Jacobea. Dins es crien els galls i gallines blancs que es col·loquen vius en el galliner de la Catedral en memòria del miracle del pelegrí penjat.
La llegenda del gall i la gallina
Al segle XIV pelegrina a Compostela Hugonell, un jove alemany de 18 anys que va acompanyat pels seus pares. En la fonda on s'allotgen treballa una noia jove que s'enamora d'ell i li requereix d'amors, al que el noi es nega. Despitada i amb ànsies de venjança, guarda al sarró del jove una copa de plata i després l'acusa de robatori.
El jove Hugonell i els seus pares es disposen a partir per seguir el pelegrinatge, quan arriba la justícia i comproven l'acusació registrant el sarró del noi. El declaren culpable i és condemnat a la forca. Els pares no poden fer res per ell més que resar a Santiago. De retorn a Alemanya, a l'acostar-se al cos penjat del seu fill per acomiadar-se senten com aquest els parla des de la forca i els diu que està viu per la gràcia del Sant.
Feliços i contents van a comunicar la notícia al corregidor que, just en aquest moment, està sopant opíparament unes aus. El corregidor naturalment es burla del que sent i llança la frase coneguda: «El vostre fill està tan viu com aquest gall i aquesta gallina que em disposava a menjar abans que em importunarais». I en aquest moment, les aus salten del plat i es posen a cantar i cloquejar alegrement.
D'aquesta llegenda va néixer la dita popular: «En Santo Domingo de la Calzada, donde cantó la gallina después de asada». Es tracta d'una llegenda molt similar a la Llegenda del Gall de Barcelos i probablement les dues tinguin un origen comú.
I saw this as a headline on a newspaper a few days ago. And I've been meaning to dress up for Fancy Dress Friday for a while, pretending to be Ms. Winehouse, especially since she's gone blonde!!!
So having had a quiet Friday night in, I decided to dress up. (I was even tempted to hit the town dressed up like this, and decided to stay in with a movie instead!)
Other possible titles that ran through my head were "Rehab? No, no no!" or "Valerie" or "Why don't you come on over?" or simply something like "Ansy Whinehouse"
And believe you me, I had so much fun during this shot, however, the only killer was trying to sort out that backcombed beehive afterwards... I still have knotty hair :(

Wanted to do something fancy for Fancy Dress Friday, being as it's the Friday before Christmas and all... Ya' know...
I went from room to room today, looking for some inspiration, or something I could use as a prop for today's 365. Yet to no avail. I have never been so blank or so stuck as to what to do ever. Usually I come up with something. But today, I was honestly clueless.
Pretty much blank.
Then it struck me, to use the whole "blank canvas" sort of thing. And because it's gotta be a selfie, I figured I'd just stick myself in the blank canvas, for safety keeps.
I'm trying my best to squint and see the camera, hunched over, because the camera is miles away, and the blank canvas room is far too bright, what with all the whiteness around.. Or maybe, one could argue, I'm searching for my muse!
My friend Kinan asked for more abstract pictures. So here is one. Although this isn't that abstract. It's more virtual insanity more than anything.
For the second day I want to talk about lights. I get highly affected by lights. The brighter the light the better. I noticed this last year when in our lecture room we discovered we could dim the lights, really bright, bright, medium, low or really low.
Lecturer went from really low to really bright. And I could sense a feeling growing inside me, kinda like a sense of happiness and contentment--making me practically glowing due to the intensity of the light.
I know why this is. It's because come the Autumn months, I suffer with S.A.D. really badly. The lack of light just causes me to become sad and really badly affected.
Instead, to treat it, I've found bright lights, lots of them, usually do the trick. That said, I could just walk into a light-chandelier shop and just jump around and be all cheered up. The fantastic lights! wooo!
But sadly, lights? Hmmm increase on the electricity bill, so no can do... :(
Physically I need lots of light. Spiritually, I have light... my path is lit up :)
On the contrary there's simply so much more to learn about light. I thought I knew, but evidently I do not. This photography thing is made up and highly affected by light, just like I am. What with white balance, natural light, shadows, exposure etc etc.
And there's the whole deal with light frequencies with regards to the strobes and studio lighting, which I don't think I'm ready to learn just yet... I'm sure I will, in time. And I'll love it all the more... As much as I love light, one thing at a time me thinks...
Santa María de Porqueres
Santa Maria de Porqueres és una església romànica situada al municipi de Porqueres, a la comarca del Pla de l'Estany. És una obra declarada bé cultural d'interès nacional.[1] L'església parroquial de Santa Maria de Porqueres està situada vora l'estany de Banyoles, a l'altre costat d'aquesta població, davant de l'antic castell de Porqueres i al costat de l'edifici independent de la rectoria. En un costat té el cementiri i, al davant, un antic comunidor.[1]

Talment una barca varada a la platja, l'església de Porqueres es mostra prop de l'aigua de l'estany de Banyoles amb una silueta inseparable de la riba lacustre. El color de la pedra, que prové de les Estunes, el color verd fosc dels xiprers del cementiri i els reflexos de l'aigua es complementen en un cromatisme de plàcida vibració.
L'església s'alça sobre un lleuger promontori. Té a la dreta la rectoria; a l'esquerra, el cementiri. Davant d'aquest es troba una construcció quadrada; un lleuger teulat de quatre vessants protegeix un pedró que culmina en una creu. És el comunidor, o indret des d'on el dia de la Santa Creu de maig es beneïa el terme, tot demanant la protecció divina per a les collites, sobretot davant el perill de pedregada.
L'absis és rodó, de mig punt. Està orientat, és a dir, mira cap a orient, com succeeix a la majoria de les esglésies. La llum pot penetrar cap a l'interior per cinc espitlleres, que no es troben a la mateixa alçada, sinó que s'eleven gradualment. Per la part superior, la transició de l'absis cap al teulat l'assegura una severa cornisa sostinguda per mènsules llises. Que siguin precisament 33 pot ésser una casualitat, però també una referència als anys de la vida de Crist; el nombre es troba també en les dents de serra que ornen un dels capitells de l'interior. A la part inferior de l'absis, un sòcol en reforça el mur.
Les parets laterals són d'un tipus de parament una mica divers de l'absidal. Alguna d'elles podria haver format part del temple del s. IX i haver estat aprofitada en la reedificació del 1182.
A banda i banda de la façana s'aprecia per l'enllaç de l'edifici amb ella, que la construcció es feu en un moment més tardà respecte de la nau de l'església.

Nau
Interior de la nau
L'edifici actual, del segle xii, és d'una nau de grans dimensions de planta rectangular i coberta coberta amb volta de canó sobre arcs torals, i absis semicircular molt allargat. La il·luminació prové de les quatre obertures de doble esqueixada situades simètricament a la nau. La tipologia de l'absis a l'interior és ben singular: tres absidioles, a més de dues capelles laterals de planta rectangular en el tram de l'ingrés, s'obren dins del gruix del mur. Totes les absidioles s'obren amb arcs peraltats sobre que descansen sobre capitells decorats. Una imposta ornada amb palmetes recorre el conjunt a l'arrencada de la volta de quart d'esfera.[1]
L'absis és separat de la nau per un arc triomfal, que havia estat de ferradura, que descansa sobre columnes. Aquest arc adovellat és recorregut per una motllura de mitja canya totalment treballada. Els capitells i les impostes són decorats amb figuracions de Déu creador i del pecat original, a la dreta, i de Jesús i la Mare de Déu, a l'esquerra. Són d'un gran interès iconogràfic i escultòric i mostren clares influències dels obradors de Ripoll. La façana és coronada per un potent campanar d'espadanya, sobre la portalada, del segle xviii, adossat l'original que queda amagat al seu darrere. Les parets portants són de carreus ben tallats amb una cornisa de pedra sobre mènsules que recorren tot el perímetre exterior, sota el ràfec de la coberta.[1]
A l'esquerra de la porta d'entrada resta la pica baptismal romànica, obrada en pedra de Banyoles, i sense cap mena de labor d'escultura. Al mur de la banda dreta, entre l'arc triomfal, a certa altura, pot veure's l'armari de seguretat que s'hi disposà el s. XVIII per ordre episcopal a fi de guardar les peces d'argent utilitzades per al culte i prevenir-ne robatoris, i, més baix, el que contenia l'arxiu parroquial.

D'aquesta església provenen una sèrie d'imatges barroques: Santa Victòria, que actualment es troba al Museu d'Art de Girona, després d'haver estat robada i recuperada; Santa Maria de Porqueres; la Verge dels Dolors al peu de la creu, robada el 1971 i recuperada sota secret de confessió; la Mare de Déu del Roser; Sant Ferriol i Sant Galderic, robat el 1993 i recuperat el 1995, actualment guardat al Museu d'Art de Girona.[1]
Prop de la pica baptismal s'ofereixen a la veneració dels fidels unes imatges barroques del Sant Crist i de la Verge dels Dolors. Les imatges de la banda esquerra de la nau, d'època barroca, són: Sant Ferriol, soldat romà, Santa Victòria, amb la palma del martiri, i la Verge del Roser. Al costat dret hi ha el franciscà Sant Antoni de Pàdua, i Sant Galderic, patró dels pagesos.
Capitells
Capitell dret
A cada costat de la portalada es troba una parella de capitells. Els dos capitells presenten una decoració força similar, però no idèntica, que es desenvolupa en les tres parts de les que consta el capitell: inferior (cilíndrica) central (trapezoïdal) i superior (àbac que perllonga en el mur, sobresortint del capitell pròpiament dit). El tambor dels dos capitells ha estat decorat en les seves dues cares amb un mateix esquema compositiu: un personatge masculí, barbat i de caràcter monstruós, es troba en el centre com a eix de la composició, perllongant el seu cos en la part inferior del capitell. Aquest personatge sosté entre les seves mans unes tiges que alhora li surten de la boca.[1]
Als àbacs dels dos capitells més pròxims a la porta poden veure's una parella de lleons passants i oposats, que tenen la testa comuna, situada justament a l'angle de l'àbac. Oposats al seu darrere hi ha altres animals semblants, que enllacen la seva cua amb els primers. En canvi, els àbacs dels capitells forans són decorats amb un fris de fulles de palma, de belles línies corbes, que continua horitzontalment davant i als costats de la portalada.
La correspondència entre capitells interiors i forans es continua en la resta dels seus elements; els interiors llueixen a la seva part central volutes, rosetes de dotze protuberàncies i dentells, mentre que als exteriors es mostren pinyes, volutes molt desenvolupades i un astràgal d'ous i perles en alternança.
Portalada
Capitell esquerra
La portalada és formada per un cos d'un metre de gruix adossat a la façana principal. És construït amb carreus de pedra de Banyoles, ben tallats, i queda acabat superiorment amb una cornisa sobre mènsules. Presenta quatre arquivoltes en degradació, lleugerament peraltades. L'arquivolta exterior presenta forma de ferradura i conté ornamentacions de caràcter geomètric en zig-zag. Els dos arcs centrals descansen sobre columnes iguals dos a dos, i presenten motius ornamentals procedents del món vegetal en els àbacs i capitells. L'àbac interior està decorat amb figures de lleons. Un fris amb medallons esculpits emmarca la porta, d'arc de mig punt. La portalada està limitada a la seva part superior per una cornisa volada amb un ampli bisell. L'arquivolta de l'entrada presenta una sèrie de 22 medallons ornats que fan referència a diferents temes de caràcter vegetal, animal i humà. La porta és de fusta amb elements de ferro forjat en forma d'espiral, i el pany en forma de serp.[1]
A la portalada es deu que l'església de Porqueres fos declarada monument nacional l'any 1931. Sobresurt ben bé un metre del pla de la façana, i així es diferencia de la majoria de les portalades de l'època, esqueixades dins del mur. El cos de la portalada és limitat per la part superior per un senzill replà que aguanten tretze mènsules, regularment distribuïdes, excepte les parelles dels extrems, que es troben més pròximes entre si. La magnificència del portal és per als fidels com un missatge que destaca la importància de l'àmbit sagrat al qual accedeixen en passar-hi. Arcs, capitells i medallons de l'arc interior mereixen una observació detallada.
Arcs
Els quatre arcs en degradació que emmarquen la porta no són del tot paral·lels. L'interior és semicircular; els altres prenen gradualment la forma de ferradura, i el seu centre és cada cop més baix. Ressalta l'arc exterior un guardapols, resseguit per una cinta en ziga-zaga; els altres són d'aresta viva, i el més interior és decorat amb una motllura en forma d'escòcia o canya que ressegueix els muntants de la porta fins al paviment.
Molt s'ha dit sobre els arcs de ferradura de Porqueres i el seu possible parentiu amb models visigòtics, parabs o mossaràbics. El cert és que la forma de ferradura no té gaires parions a les nostres comarques; utilitzat a finals del s. XII degué constituir una mena d'arcaisme enyoradís de formes aleshores ja depassades.
Medallons
L'arc intern de la portalada conté 22 medallons rebuidats a les dovelles, tot i que dos d'ells només tenen esculpida la part superior. Iniciant la lectura des de l'esquerra es troba: 1. Flor de canat. 2. Llaç triangular. 3: Conill passant. 4. Roseta encerclada amb cordó. 5. Rosa estilitzada. 6. Felí passant. 7. Bust humà. (. Com el 6, però invertit.). Fulla encerclada amb un cordó. 10. Sant en actitud de beneir. 11. Felí amb ales. 12. Simètric del 10. 13. Simètric del 9. 14. Semblant al 7. 15. Semblant a l'11. 16. Figura estrellada de nou raigs. 17 Fulla ampla circular. 18. Creu floronada. 19. Botó envoltat de greques. 20. Àguila o colom. 21. Com el 2. 22 com l'1.
Podria creure's que l'escultor que treballà els medallons va preveure una simetria absoluta, on destacaria la figura que calia situar al centre. Trobant-se absent en el moment del muntatge, els treballadors que el van executar haurien modificat la composició. Per uns escalons s'accedeix a la nau del temple.
Arc triomfal
El presbiteri és l'indret exclusiu on es realitzen els sants misteris. El grandiós arc triomfal que separa la nau, destinada al poder fidel, de l'entorn de l'altar, subratlla la sacralitat de l'àmbit del fons del temple.
Dues robustes columnes sostenen sengles capitells de grans proporcions. Sobre ells carreguen senzilles dovelles de l'arc, decorades només amb una motllura semicircular que acaba, a banda i banda, damunt els capitells, dins la boca d'un lleó.
Els dos capitells són semblants. Comparant-los amb els de la portalada hom pot adonar-se que la part inferior i la mitjana, tot i tenir ací respectivament formes cilíndrica i troncocònica, s'han fusionat en una unitat; unes grans figures humanes les ocupen. Són personatges masculins, que tenen les extremitats inferiors molt petites, i que creixen en dimensions a partir de la cintura. El seu cap té l'alçada corresponent a un terç de tot el cos. Aquests personatges agafen amb les mans uns feixos de fulles que els surten de la boca. No tenen intenció simbòlica sinó decorativa.
Desproporcionats entre els peus i el cap, donen la impressió d'ésser vistos en perspectiva. L'artista que els treballà tingué en compte l'efecte que farien vistos des de la nau. Per això mateix hom veurà fàcilment que la inclinació de la part troncocònica dels capitells vers la nau és més accentuada que no pas vers l'arc triomfal. L'efecte òptic és perfecte i d'indubtable teatralitat. La part superior del capitell, o àbac, s'ha convertit ací en una llarga imposta, de lectura difícil a causa de la petitesa de les figures que s'hi troben. Ací es concentra el missatge doctrinal de l'escultura romànica de Porqueres. No en coneixem l'inspirador, que podria haver estat algun monjo del monestir benedictí de Banyoles. Pel que es refereix a l'escultor, que podria haver estat el mateix que treballà a la portalada, pertany a l'escola de Ripoll, fins al punt de trobar-se coincidències de detall entre la decoració realitzada ací i la que pot veure's a la porta de Sant Pol, a Sant Joan de les Abadesses.
Imposta del capitell dret
De cara a la nau s'ha representat l'escena del pecat original. A partir del mur de la nau hom pot veure l'àngel d'ales esteses i amples vestidures que tancà el Paradís als homes, el Pantocràtor o Déu tot poderós dins un cercle allargassat en forma d'ametlla, Adam, que menja el fruit prohibit, Eva que l'invita a prendre'l, l'arbre del bé i del mal, amb una serp entortolligada a la figura deforme del diable.
Relacionar la manifestació de Crist o teofania amb el Gènesi és un fet medieval, insòlit a l'antigor cristiana. El tapís de la Creació de la catedral de Girona posa el Pantocràtor com a centre de la creació. Situar-lo enmig de l'escena del pecat original és molt rar en l'art romànic. Dos querubins, amb les ales plegades al davant del cos, es troben als angles de la imposta.
La part d'imposta que resta sota l'arc triomfal conté de nou la representació del Pantocràtor dins l'ametlla, símbol d'eternitat. Dos àngels la sostenen i la mostren; d'altres hi fan costat. Sumant tots els éssers angèlics de la imposta resulten ser nou. És la referència així als nous ordes dels àngels que coneixia la teologia medieval: trons, querubins, serafins, virtuts, dominacions, potestats, principats, àngels i arcàngels. La manifestació de Déu enmig dels àngels al·ludeix a la fi del món, així com el pecat original es refereix al seu principi.
A la part inferior del capitell, un dels grans personatges fantàstics queda reduït al cap. La resta del capitell, on correspondria al seu cos, és plena de flora derivada de palmeres, lliris i acants. A l'angle, vora la paret de la nau, un petit colom damunt un arbre, amb un ram d'olivera al bec, evoca la narració bíblica del diluvi universal.
Imposta del capitell esquerre
A la part d'imposta que mira a la nau hom distingeix fàcilment al centre de la Mare de Déu amb l'infant Jesús a les mans. Mare i fill tenen la testa voltada per un cercle, que té per nom nimbe, i és signe de santedat. El nimbe del Fill porta una creu, i l'infant fa el gest de beneir. Santa maria és la titular del temple des de la consagració d'aquest, i és comprensible que si li reservés un lloc d'honor.
Els sants personatges són acompanyats de figures humanes: tres a l'esquerra i dos a la dreta, amb nimbe al cap i llibres a les mans, excepte la que ocupa l'extrem més pròxim al mur, que no té cap d'aquests signes.
Els angles de la imposta els ocupen sengles coloms d'ales plegades, que probablement representen éssers angèlics.
En el fragment d'imposta que resta sota l'arc triomfal s'hi troba Jesucrist, amb nimbe creuat, alçant una mà per beneir, i sostenint amb l'altra el llibre de la Llei divina. Els personatges que l'envolten, tres per banda, porten els mateixos atributs que els que acompanyen la Mare de Déu. En total, les persones que es troben a la imposta, a més del Crist i la Mare de Déu, són tretze. Atès que un no porta nimbe, és fàcil de suposar que s'hi ha volgut representar els onze apòstols i Judes, l'únic d'ells que no assolí la santedat. El cristià llegeix en les figures dels apòstols, primers seguidors de Jesucrist, un símbol del poble creient d'avui, del qual ell és membre.
Notem encara que a la part inferior d'aquest capitell, entre els peus dels éssers fantàstics que caragolen bigotis vegetals, s'hi troba un personatge petit despullat, al cos del qual s'entortolliga una serp que li mossega el coll. Més enllà, gairebé amagat a l'angle que formen el capitell i el mur del presbiteri, es veu un animal estrany, potser un lleó.
Presbiteri
Clou l'espai del presbiteri un absis semicircular. Tres absidioles i dues capelles laterals n'eixamplen l'àmbit; tenen la particularitat de trobar-se construïdes dins el gruix del mur.
La volta, notable per la disposició geomètrica de les pedres, es reconstruí durant la restauració de 1957. En ella es troba inserida una biga medieval policromada, amb els símbols del sol i la lluna, que possiblement serví per sostenir un cortinatge que en certs moments impediria als fidels la visió de l'altar, com és d'ús en les litúrgies orientals.
Recorre tot l'absis, al nivell dels capitells de l'arc triomfal, un fris. És una llarga sèrie de palmetes tancades en cercles, semblant en dimensions i estil al de la portalada, tot i ésser-ne diferent en els temes vegetals que converteixen en decoració cal·ligràfica.
Les absidioles s'obren cap a la nau a través d'arcs peraltats, és a dir, que excedeixen el semicercle, i per aquesta característica es relacionen amb els de la portalada. Les pilastres i capitells que separen una absidiola de l'altra foren reconstruïts a la darrera restauració; els àbacs porten decoració de pinyes o bé de línies geomètriques, mentre que a les bases de les pilastres poden veure's rosetes.
A la capella del Santíssim, la primera de l'esquerra, es veneren les imatges de Sant Llúcia, amb els ulls damunt d'un plat, i de Santa Eugènia, caracteritzada pel llibre que porta. Són talles barroques. També ho és, si bé més antiga, la Mare de Déu que resta darrere l'altar, de policromia simple i gest recollit.
L'altar, cap al qual convergeix l'atenció dels fidels durant la celebració dels oficis divinals, és una llosa de pedra de Banyoles sostinguda per un fragment de columna romana, trobada, segons que sembla, a Porqueres mateix.

Orígens
Vista de l'absis
L'antiga església de Porqueres era dedicada a Sant Llorenç i estava situada en un lloc diferent. Documentada des del 906, data en què era possessió del monestir de Sant Joan de les Abadesses. Quan es va començar a construir l'actual temple, aquest era dedicat a Sant Llorenç i Santa Maria, i posteriorment va pertànyer al monestir de Sant Esteve de Banyoles, com consta en documents dels anys 1097 i 1172. L'any de consagració de l'església pel bisbe de Girona Ramon Orusall (o Urusall) 1182, aquesta era dedicada només a Santa Maria.[1]
Dia de joia per a la parròquia degué ésser el 13 d'abril de 1182. S'esqueia en dimarts de la segona setmana de Pasqua. El temple acabava de construir-se. El bisbe Ramon Guisall de Girona el consagrà i dedicà solemnement al culte. En un document signat amb aquesta avinentesa, el prelat disposà que el culte se sostingués amb els delmes dels terrenys que es trobaven des de Quadroc, a l'orient, fins a la muntanya de l'Espill, a ponent, i des de l'Estany fins al terme de la parròquia de Serinyà. Els límits d'aquest terme recullen el Puig de Cota, la pedra de la Creu, el mas Bruguera, Cutzac, el rierol de Merdançà, el bosc de Ravanera, el Vilar d'Iserga, la font del Guix, el clot de Campmajor, la roca d'Abella, la casa Rodeja i la roca Canera.
El bisbe posà església i cementiri sota la protecció de la Pau i treva de Déu, de manera que en el circuit de trenta passes al seu voltant hom estigues segur de no ésser víctima de cap mena de violència. I manà que la parròquia estigués sotmesa a la seu episcopal de Girona, de la que rebria els olis sants, necessaris per a l'administració dels sagraments, i que els sacerdots assistissin cada any al sínode, on es prenien mesures per a la bona marxa de tota la diòcesi. Per aquesta època restava dins la rodalia de la parròquia de Porqueres l'església de Sant Maurici de Calç, després agregada a Pujarnol. Posteriorment, en canvi, va annexar-se ací la parròquia veïna de Merlant.
El segle xiii (1210), l'església s'independitza del Senyor del Castell. En el segle xvi apareix amb el nom de "Sancta Maria de Porcherus". Durant el segle xvi, l'església va comprar moltes joies de plata, algunes encara es poden contemplar. L'any 1786 es va construir el nou campanar substituint l'antic d'espadanya. El 1797 es va construir un retaule per l'altar major amb estil rococó.[1]
La volta interior actualment és de rajola arrebossada. Substitueix l'original de pedra que degut a les empentes que provocava als murs es va badar. L'actual es va construir a les reformes que van començar l'any 1953.[1]
Està dedicada a Nostra Senyora de l'Assumpció i té uns Goigs dedicats que canten: Palma excelsa. Triomfadora./De Porqueres, fe i encís./Pel vostre camí, Senyora,/guieu-nos al paradís[2].
Evolució
Aspecte de l'església de Santa Maria l'any 1920
Estilísticament sembla probable que fos el mateix escultor qui va realitzar la portada i esculpir els capitells de l'arc triomfal, a l'interior. S'ha dit que aquest escultor podia provenir de l'escola de Ripoll, doncs es troben punts de relació entre aquests capitells i la decoració de la porta de Sant Pol a Sant Joan de les Abadesses. Pel que respecta a la iconografia, la representació del personatge monstruós presenta una significació principalment decorativa, com és habitual en el romànic. Contràriament, en els temes que trobem a l'àbac, s'ha desenvolupat un petit programa iconogràfic. Així doncs, en el capitell dret, s'ha posat en relació el tema del pecat original amb una manifestació teofànica envoltada per les nou jerarquies angèliques (tema que al·ludeix a la fi del món). Es parla doncs de principi i fi de l'univers. Al capitell esquerra, la presència de la Verge queda clarament justificada per l'advocació del temple. S'han identificat els altres personatges amb els 12 apòstols i Sant Maties. Es podria proposar també una interpretació de contraposició entre Antic Testament i Nou Testament.[1]
La portalada de l'església de Santa Maria de Porqueres possiblement és de construcció posterior, ja que està adossada a la façana i es pot apreciar que no existeixen elements d'unió entre les dues parts.[1]
Al segle xviii es va aixecar el nou campanar. L'any 1957 es va restaurar l'edifici. És llavors quan, entre altres tasques, es renova totalment la volta de canó.[1]
Al segle xvi la pica fou substituïda per una de gòtica amb relleus i escultures. En fer-se la restauració de l'església romànica el 1957 la pica fou retornada al seu lloc original.[1]

El seu arxiu guarda com a peces més antigues els llibres de testaments que autoritzava el rector; comencen el s. XVI, com també són del segle XX els primers llibres d'Obra, on s'anotaven les despeses que, sota l'administració d'uns representants de la feligresia, es feien al temple i per al culte parroquial. Els altres llibres de l'arxiu, concretament els de bateigs, matrimonis i òbits, comencen el segle xvii. En ells consten, per exemple les abundants víctimes que la guerra amb l'exèrcit francès produí entre la població el 1808 i 1809.
Els terratrèmols del s. XV havien perjudicat greument el temple, però les obres de consolidació dutes a terme per impedir-ne la ruïna no en modificaren sensiblement la forma. Canvis d'importància, en canvi, es realitzen a la segona meitat del segle xviii. A l'exterior, s'enrunà el campanar de cadireta que coronava la façana per construir-hi una torre; es guanyà alçada, però es perdé la unitat estilística del monument. Això succeïa el 1786. Poc després, el 1792, es posava volta de llunetes al presbiteri i s'hi alçava un retaule de línies barroques.
Lamentablement aquest retaule era cremat el 1936, durant la interrupció violenta de la vida parroquial que aleshores s'esdevingué. Els treballs de neteja de l'església durant el decenni de 1940 feren descobrir que el mur del fons del presbiteri, que fins aleshores havia sostingut el retaule, era un envà postís. Així nasqueren uns plans de restitució de l'edifici a la seva primitiva bellesa.
Els dugué a terme el Servicio de Defensa del Patrimonio Artístico Nacional entre 1957 i 1960. Tot l'edifici fou consolidat amb injeccions subterrànies de formigó i lligades de ferro.

When I first came across this floor at the shop where I help out part time, I was in a state of shock. But the more I see it the more I love it. Yep. Really love it. It's just nice to enter into a room whereby the place is so outdated and oldskool, that it just rocks my socks off (quite literally!)
The title is false. I wanted something catchy. So the word "kitsch" was used, because that is such an urberly cool word altogether. Sadly this floor isn't the kitchen floor. It's the upstairs bathroom at the shop. It's always nice to stare at the floor when sat taking a dump. Ha.
And tonight I just-so-happen to have my camera at the shop. So I quickly went upstairs during a quiet moment to take a quick shot in the bathroom. The boss totally oblivious as to why I was taking a while.
I like it. And thinking about it, I think I'll probably go through a phase in the future whereby I'd want my whole house to be totally retro and full of vintage furniture.
I mean, I've already forced my mother to swear an oath that she'd let me inherit her retro plates, bowls and tea-set when I get my own place in the future...!

Начнем с причин неэффективности подобных мер в борьбе с терроризмом, то есть работать по назначению он не будет в принципе
1. Террористам все равно. Нет, правда. Террористы не являются адекватными и их поведение регламентируется фанатизмом, а не логикой. Их это не напугает
2. Сбор информации, даже не шифрованной, не дает ровным счетом ничего. Напомню, что французские террористы не использовали хитрых средств шифрования. Обычные смс, обычная симка на свой паспорт. Почему нет? Завтра же трах-бабах.
3. Есть немало методик передать открытым текстом закрытую информацию. Самое эффективное-кодовые фразы или т.н. стеганография. Провести потоковое исследование большого объема информации невозможно.
4. Не нужно забывать, что терроризм существует и там где мобильная связь с интернетом отсутствуют или жестко контролируются, там еще актуальны курьеры и личные послания.
5. Многие террористы и шпионы могут не выходить на связь со своими кураторами годами (т.н. спящий агент). Они уже имеют определенные инструкции, полученные при обучении или внедрении, которые выполнят по определенному заранее же сигналу или в выбранную дату.
6. Шифрование внедряется повсеместно, поэтому невозможно определить только шифрующихся. Сайты, даже визитки, переходят на ssl, в популярных мессенджерах по-умолчанию активно шифрование диалогов и т.д. Даже получив ключи потребуются колоссальные мощности на расшифровку всего этого счастья. Но и предоставлять их никто из нормальных компаний, разумеется, не будет.
Теперь, когда мы разобрались с неэффективностью закона, время обратить внимание на его последствия для каждого из нас, так как закон направлен против нас, а не террористов:
7. За чей счет банкет? По сраведливости оплатить должен был бы инициатор. Но вот расходы возложены на провайдеров. При текущих ценах рентабельность не столь высока, чтобы можно было себе такое позволить. Поэтому мелкие провайдеры (может и средние) прекратят свое существование.
8. Если к кого и хватит денег на организацию хранения, то у крупных компаний. Но даже они не рисуют деньги, это значит, что придется экономить на развитии сети (будет хуже покрытие, больше сбоев, выше срок устранения сбоев, дольше ожидание на линии в ТП).
9. Но даже при всем при этом будет рост цен для пользователя. Больше никаких 100мб за 300р не будет. Более того, учитывая, что расходы прямо пропорциональны трафику, то безлимиты окажутся невыгодными операторам. Возврат к помегабайтной тарификации, в цену которой заложено хранение и обработка вашего же трафика.
10. Производительности ни одного дата центра не хватит на такой поток данных, которое генерируется по стране. Поэтому скорость будет снижаться, чтобы трафик успевал писаться.
11. Даже если все это будет внедрено, будет худо-бедно работать, а у нас найдутся деньги на интернет по несколько т.р. в месяц, есть и следующая проблема: безопасность. Наличие в свободном доступе баз прописки, гибдд, собственности, паспортных столов и т.д. демонстрирует то, как "умеют" государственные работники выполнять закон о ПД (кто-то же продает эти базы?). Теперь к списку добавятся телефонные разговоры и смс, пароли от сайтов, ключи ssl и другая чувствительная информация. Я думаю, что не требуется объяснять, какой рост преступности, а особенно таргетированного мошенничества, это вызовет.
12. Собранные в одном месте данные станут лакомым кусочком, а учитывая дырявость внедряемых отечественных систем, типо карт мир, вопрос утечки - вопрос только времени, даже если инсайдеры не продадут.
13. К сожалению, обычные пользователи становятся жертвами троянов, выполняющих с их ip различные действия. Иногда, не очень законные. Записанный трафик такой активности уже будет обвинительным доказательством против вас. Как вы будете доказывать, что это оно само, тем более в басманном суде? Никак..
Сюда же отнесем случайно беспарольный (или простой пароль) на wifi.
В то время, как компании внедряют полезные и классные вещи, типо LTE, всякие Яровые и Мизулины только гадят всем подряд, препятствуя внедрению прогресса под совершенно надуманными предлогами. А с терроризмом можно бороться только одним способом-симметричными мерами в отношении родственников, друзей, соседей и даже целых городов террористов, сделав исключение из конвенций ООН на этот счет.
Тут, в общем, создали петицию. Не знаю, насколько поможет. Но что-то надо же делать, кроме покупки винчестверов и запасания на них кино и выкачивания из облаков своих архивов, а то на скорости в 64kb это может до старости затянуться..

В продолжение ранее описанного Почему именно вам придется страдать из-за «закона Яровой», разберемся, сколько же конкретно придется заплатить за то, чтобы за нами следили.
Для начала следует четко понять: свободных денег в таком объеме у операторов нет, поэтому расходы будут учтены в тарифах и переложены на конечного пользователя. Так что весь банкет оплатит абонент. Сколько же придется платить?
В качестве маленького примечания следует отметить, что приведенный расчет является приближенным и не претендует на аптечную точность. Задача представить порядок расходов. Тем более, что особенностью реализации российских проектов является многократно превышенная смета.
Для того, чтобы ограничить необходимость записи потребуется снизить трафик. Проще говоря нас ждет откат во времена медленного и дорогого интернета. Кого-то это не сильно расстроит, жили же, однако следует учесть современные особенности сайтостроения. Современный сайт сильно растолстел по сравнению даже с 2005, не говоря уж 2000 годом. Так что комфортное использование на скоростях dial-up будет невозможно.
Вернемся к ценам. Возьмем, например, скорость в 1Мб/с. На этой скорости за полгода будет выкачано порядка 2ТБ трафика. Думаю, не стоит объяснять, что в масштабах страны даже 2ТБ на человека, это очень много. Поэтому хранение оплатит пользователь. Сколько же платить? За стоимость хранения возьмем $0.012 (AWS Glaicer) ГБ/Месяц. За передачу $0.09 за ГБ.
Итого $144+$180=$324 не считая накладных расходов и в готовый ДЦ за полгода. Постройка нового хранилища, а так же подготовка оборудования и ПО операторов еще + дофига, но мы считали по минимуму (правда тут уже резервирование учтено). Это +$54 к месячному счету. Однако есть и хорошие новости, пользователи редко потребляют уникальный контент и еще реже создают. Возможно не потребуется хранить одинаковые копии одного ролика с ютуба для миллиона просмотревших. Правда ютуб постепенно переходит на https.. Это плохие новости. В общем какой-то выигрыш от статики на http страницах будет.
Понятно, что такой тариф многих отпугнет. Появятся более демократичные тарифы (512, 256, 128 и, может даже 64) по соответственно (27, 13.5, 6.75, 3.38).
Хотя лично я считаю, что на таких скоростях интернет будет нежизнеспособен с текущими js'никами по 5мб.
Таким образом, скорость трогать смысла скорее не будет, а вот трафик станет учетным (+0.09+0.012*6). Выходит, что при трафике с телефона цена (у меня пакет 6Гб) увеличится на 30р. Это народ выдержит. А вот дома.. За последний месяц трафик порядка 2,5ТБ. Даже не знаю, как научиться экономить..
Today after the whole church-day, I got forced to learn how to ride a bike, [in a good way] by Mel and Shau(!)
I was full of excuses [genuine excuses may I add, like I didn't have my trainers with me, wasn't in the right clothes, I'm too heavy and might break Mel's new bike etc etc etc. Even made up the excuse of not learning with Mel's 9 year old cousin Rebecca was mocking me and scaring me that if I fall off the bike it'd really hurt, only to have Rachel the 13 year old cousin tell off her sister for discouraging me, a 22 year old who can't ride a bike(!)]
But despite all these valid reasons as to why I shouldn't learn, Mel was still determined to teach me how to ride. Shau helped later on too when she realised I really was helpless. And we found flatter ground further on down the cul-de-sac area.
Let's just say I'm all achey all over, and tomorrow I'll start bruising. I never fell off, but was so close to doing so.
And can I ride a bike now? No, I can't [but Mel and Shau swear I started to peddle on my own when they secretly let go of me!] It's so incredibly hard for me to find my balance on a bike. I have no such thing as balance!
Oh my days.
I regret telling them about the challenge someone had set for me recently, to learn a bike before September!!!! Mel and Shau are sooo determined that I'll learn how.
Sigh.

3 minute exposure, I think. Well, 184 seconds. I'm thinking I should have given it about 5 minutes but I get so ansy with these long exposures. 3 minutes was long enough.

Yay! It's Fancy Dress Friday today! One of my favourite days of the week :)
But the bad thing about these dress-up shots, is that when I seek inspiration from a music video or an icon of somesort, their song/famous phrase literally gets stuck in my head for the rest of the day.
I wouldn't say I'm a fan of Kylie, but I watched a documentary about her on one of the freeview channels, and felt sorry for her. She's only female afterall, and she ain't perfect, that's why I've started to like her.

It's ok. Although a bit too THIN towards the ends, and [still] too THICK at the top. Hmm.
And the ends seem too stringy for my liking. But I can live with it... It'll grow out fast anyway. It always does.
Anyway. I'm in the bathroom for this shot. We have a circular mirror.
Oh, but I'm ALWAYS shooting in the bathroom.
I'll have you know a secret: The majority of my 365 shots are taken IN THIS BATHROOM!
Why? There's a nice lock on the door, the only room where one can get some privacy to take photos and not have people walk in half way through.
Where? There's a lovely plain white blank wall. It's [kinda] the only bare wall we have [except for the one by the stairs, in the living room].
And thus it makes a great backdrop for the majority of my whiteground shots.
Also, great north-facing window view too. The lighting is beautiful when at the window sill. I take a lot of photos at these windows, cos there's also a stool there [you can't see it, I'm in the way!] Also the spot where I do my makeup!
How? the space is small, it's not exactly a MASSIVE bathroom, [although one could argue, if we didn't have THIS much junk, the bathroom would be clutter-free [impossible] and thus the bathroom would seem bigger!] But I make do with the small space I have.
And sometimes, I even hang my black/white sheets for extra background for my shots.

It inspired me a lot for this shot, and figured.... yep... my room IS a mess.... so tonight I attempted to tidy it...

This morning when I opened my eyes, I saw my paper moon lantern hanging, attached to my bedroom light. And that gave me an idea.
Ok, ok, it's nothing like Pluto. But still. It's sphere shaped no?
I've always always loved reading books and finding out more about the planets in our Solar System. I remember the first time I discovered them at the tender age of 5. Fascinated that how at night time the moon appeared to be following me as I sat in the car.
I even remember doing a project all about the Solar System when I was aged 10.
And it was only up until August just gone, at YSC 2007 camp, did I realise, wow, I still remember the order of the planets.
But then I discovered, via Facebook's group "When I was your age Pluto was a planet". And that got me reading all about how Pluto is no longer a planet, but a Dwarf Planet.
And I thought: What a shame. All those years of remembering that planet being the last one. All those years of education. The textbooks. Everything else.
But then again, after all the coverage about Pluto, it's kinda cool to be reminded about the wonders of the Solar System. You take it for granted sometimes. And when you find out about Pluto being a Dwarf Planet, you start to wonder about the rest of the Universe... and all things metaphorical. And what would happen if you got lost out there? Somewhere on the edges of the solar system, beyond our galaxy or something crazzzzy.... And so on and so forth. So much your head hurts.. So that's kinda cool.
Today I went to the cinema see the film "27 Dresses" with Ivy. A truly pure chick-flick romantic comedy through and through. It's all good :) So funny and girly. It's all good :)
And just as the words explain in the picture (totally inspired no doubt!) yep, my sister said it was crap, I didn't believe her, so went to see it for myself, only that it goes to prove that my theory of her film-taste-is-opposite-to-mine to be deemed correct! What she finds crap, I find good. What I find good, she finds crap. Oh yes.
And being a bridesmaid twice? Here and here.
Hopefully I won't be a bridesmaid that many times. I would never wish that on anyone.

Требования к работникам и по внешнему виду, и по поведению строги, но справедливы, все же с людьми общаться нужно. Но дресс-кодом все не исчерпывается. Например использование интернета под запретом. Мало приятного, когда работник компании всецело погружен в собственные мысли и не отводит взгляд от экрана. К тому же вопрос безопасности - работа с персональными данными клиентов и финансовой информацией не очень совместимы с посторонними сайтами.
По-настоящему рядом и готовы помочь
Многие люди не начинают сами разговор, даже если у них назрел вопрос. Здесь не навязывают помощь, но всегда готовы ее оказать.

Конструктивный диалог
Наверное для многих может стать сложностью быстро подбирать правильный ответ в диалоге. На шаблонах вроде приветствия далеко не уедешь, хотя и без них никуда. Ситуации бывают разные, главное не сдаваться и помнить, что можешь больше.
Обратная сторона
Что же видят сотрудники компании, с чем работают? Основная работа идет с двумя программами: 1С для продажи техники и собственная CRM система, которая отличает салон оператора от, например, Ситилинка, именно в ней происходят все операции вроде смены тарифа, получения детализации, активации опций и изменении данных. В ней же заводятся новые контракты (при продаже сим-карт), оформляются заявки на перенос номеров, выполняется пополнение баланса, перепривязываются сим карты при утере или замене на USIM. Наверное рассказ и фотоотчет по этой системе был бы самым интересным в этой публикации, но это закрытая информация. Кроме того телефон вместе с остальными личными вещами был сдан в подсобку, как этого требует регламент.
То, что можно рассказать
На волне историй о том, что сотрудники салонов иногда оказываются недобросовестными отмечу, что, во всяком случае сейчас, сотрудники не видят часть информации (например если зайти в раздел списаний, то детализация о звонках и смс будет представлена в общем виде (оператор, регион, продолжительность, сумма). Набранные номера и текст сообщений посмотреть нельзя. Все операции в системе логгируются, а сотрудники (честное слово) не подключают лишних услуг. Услуги с пробным бесплатным периодом появляются после активации. Когда я продавал СИМ-карту и меня тариф, они даже отключились, как конфликтующие с этим тарифом. Когда человек приходит платить за телефон и называет номер, сотрудник видит статистику расходов и может предложить перейти на более новый тариф, если это будет дешевле.
Возможен ли пробив?
Многие думают, что если устроиться работать в салон, то можно пробивать номера и неплохо подзаработать. Возможно, что кто-то уже даже пробовал и ... больше не работает. Дело в том, что кроме записи всех действий сотрудника, система еще учитывает статистику, то есть неестественная активность будет заметно, особенно если ваши коллеги не проводят клиентов, а у вас их просто толпа. Кроме это в небольшом (вроде бы) салоне много камер. Поэтому пытаться уговорить сотрудника на нарушение закона не стоит.
"Впарят дорогой тариф"
У консультантов нет задачи увеличить расходы абонента, скорее наоборот. Лояльность клиента важно сохранить, восстановить намного сложнее. Поэтому если от похода в салон останется только хорошее впечатление, клиент вернется. Иногда не один, например с пожилым родственником или ребенком, а может станет корпоративным клиентом.
Мои первые продажи
Сказать, что я ничего не продавал до этого, не получится. Однако формат живой продажи, в салоне, первый. В этом нет ничего сложного, если знаешь то, что предлагаешь. Именно в этом и есть залог успеха. Достаточно долгое знакомство с оператором и богатый опыт с гаджетами помогли. Правда на этапе оформления я немного запутался в 1С(для продавцов это вроде как базовое требование), а вот с CRM разобрался почти сразу. За 3 часа (минус инструктаж и съемку ролика) улов вышел такой: 3 телефона, 2 симки, 3 пополнения, 1 перенос (из Билайна). Еще одна отложенная продажа получилась, причем даже несколько неожиданно.
Женщина стояла в задумчивости у витрины со смартфонами, я уточнил, что ее интересует, оказалось, что бюджет невелик и хочется подобрать что-то поприличнее. Конечно я предложил обратить внимание на брендированные Q415. Ее несколько отталкивала залоченность аппарата, так как ее рабочий номер МТС. Я показал freesim аппараты из той же ценовой категории. Конечно, LTE там нет, оперативки меньше, а сопоставимые по характеристикам уже сильно дороже. Видя колебания, предлагаю, если рабочий номер не корпоративный, перенести его в МФ, и тогда совершенно спокойно пользоваться этим аппаратом. Идея клиенту нравится, - "ох, я и забыла, что сейчас номера можно перенести". Вот так из идеи низкой цены для операторского телефона можно перейти к переносу номера. К сожалению, когда она вернется с паспортом в салон, я уже не смогу принять заявление и вручить новый гаджет, но путь начат, а это главное.
Пора наконец и к собственным впечатлениям подойти.

Документы. Так или иначе, документы, договоры, подписи, печати - неотъемлемая часть процесса. У меня же с бумажками не очень теплые отношения

But here's another classic Ansy-Moment-Story for all you lot to read about!! Haha.
I was at a medical check up [a requirement for the process of getting a more permanent working visa in this country, and a general need in general] last Thursday.
So off we went to the hospital for the checkup, Elizabeth had warned me that I needed to give a urine sample. So they gave me a cup [which is GREAT because back at home in the UK, they'd just give you that test tube thing! And you have to somehow pee into it! haha] but here they gave me a cup which was wonderful and came in handy. So off I scuttled in true-Ansy-like to the ladies.
I open the door to reveal my worst nightmare: the squat toilets!
[since arriving I have done anything I can to avoid having to confront these types of toilets! I peed in one for the first time in my LIFE the day after my arrival. Shocker... let's just say it was messy!]
So I look at the other cubicles. They were ALL squat toilets. No western traditional types. So I look for the cleanest one. But the majority of them were clean [duh, what with being in a hospital and all!]
So I do my business [was dying for a wee and was waiting for an hour because I knew I had to give a urine sample and didn't know when the desire to "micturate" would arrive again!]
So I tried to pee into the cup, it was ok. But I was peeing far too much urine, so much so the whole cup got full [your average sized paper cup!] and put it aside and peed some more into the squat urinal.
All was fine. I stood up, zipped up, urine sample in cup in one hand, bag in the other.
And I naturally rise one foot over the toilet. but OH NO!
My birkenstock shoe/sandal/flip flop thing falls INTO the urinal! OH NO!
It didn't fall into the flat area [which would have been fine because it's not deep in water... just a little of my urine... haha yucks]
But it fell into the MAIN drain part [the hole!] and the whole thing becomes immersed in toilet water [and maybe some urine!]
pretty much baptised in the toilet! Oh no!
So there I am, looking down, in horror, and the true typical Ansy-Moment... one urine sample cup in hand, one bag in the other, keeping my balance, with one foot shoe-less.... so I hopped out... while trying not to spill the cup of urine down my front...

So I place my cup sample and bag by the sink area. and hop BACK up to the squat toilet to FISH my shoe back up... haha... funny funny...
Don't worry, I washed, rinsed, disinfected it, rinsed, disinfected it, and washed and rinsed it again and again shortly after.
But I left the ladies bathroom with one dry shoe, and one wet. Yucks.
Sigh. Squat toilets are such a challenge.
Oh but ready, I've kinda perfected the art now...! Mainly because I've peed into a squat toilet more now (what with it being the only form of relief at the school I work now... Hurray for a job! Boo for the toilets! but no matter!]
The trick is to WATCH were you aim [otherwise you end up peeing down your leg!]
And the other trick is to fold up your trousers [or pants as some call it] to avoid getting the foot of your pants wet with yucky stuff. Also allows for easier viewing as to where you aim. Haha.
Oh and to clear your pockets [I have a tendency to put my mobile/cell phone in my trouser/pant pockets... Not good when squatting and peeing at same time!]
So I've perfected the art of peeing into squat toilets.
So much so I ate something bad on Friday and pooed in one for the very first time [I was at school, and was desperate!] But still... It's not that bad [apart from the smell in the school toilets!]
ps. The urine sample was just for a stupid pregnancy test. I tested negative. Phew.
