The poles are approx 12 inches x 12 inches or 30cm x 30 cm square cross section with rounded corners. Length is about 5 metres or 15 feet. At one end is an arrow head type projection designed to protect then. The other end is more rounded and would appear to be consistent with a pole in the ground although there are no ground marks (or a circle where the ground level was. Maybe a vertical pole where the iron arrow head prevents people standing on top? Or a horizontal pole or beam to protect a weir or bridge or support?
These 2 substantial wooden poles are now deposited on a stone/boulder/screen bank in the river Allen within the National Trust Allen Banks and Staward Gorge property.

Clearly floated downstream during the Storm Desmond flood that took out the suspension bridge at National Trust Allen Banks.
