Thank you, everyone, for the comments and faves to my posting last week of Salthenge. There were many questions from that shot, so I wanted to take time and answer for everyone.
Today's view of Salthenge includes two folding chairs to give it scale.

Q: Who created it?
A; Still unknown. I am betting on aliens, and its a secret signal
Q: Where are the footprints?
A: Further proof of aliens......this section of salt is rock hard and not like beach sand. Many areas of the lake has loose / soft salt that is fragile, but this area is sunbaked hard, like concrete.
A bigger problem is tracking dirt/sand on the salt and leaving those dirt footprints (I was extra careful)
Q: Where did the rocks come from?
A: Aliens or an area of rocks about 66 meters / 216 feet away
Q: How large is this?
A: Did my photo today help give it scale? Maybe I should let you know those folding chairs are 12.7cm /5 inches tall :-) No drone involved, just the mini chairs and my Sony a7iii :-)
Q: How long will it last?
A: Humans create things, and just as fast, they destroy things. It becomes much harder to take apart if it lasts a few months as the salt will act like concrete holding them in place.
Q: How big are the rocks?
A: The largest one is maybe 6 inches / 15cm. The entire circle is about 2 meters / 6.5 feet
Q: Roy wants to know why comments are always off
A: Roy, they are only off for you :-) No one else has this problem.

France. Alpes. Savoie. Massif de la Vanoise. Photo prise lors d'un aller-retour au Lac Rond, au départ du parking des Fontanettes, en passant par le Refuge des Barmettes, le Lac des Vaches, Le Lac Long et le Col de la Vanoise. Nous avons effectué cette rando à 2 avec ma femme et c'est peut-être notre rando préférée de tous les temps ! ❤️
Cette photo a été prise juste après le Refuge des Barmettes, avant de traverser le Torrent de la Glière et de passer en rive gauche de celui-ci.
On peut y voir une magnifique brochette de Pointes et d'Aiguilles, à savoir, de gauche à droite :
o La Pointe de la Grande Glière (3392m),
o La Pointe de la Petite Glière (3322m),
o L'Aiguille de l'Épena (3421m),
o L'Aiguille de la Vanoise (2797m).
J'adore l'allure de l'Aiguille de la Vanoise (à droite sur la photo), non seulement sous cet angle, avec sa face nord qui semble quasiment verticale, mais aussi quand on la voit de l'autre côté, depuis le Col de la Vanoise. Ce fut un de mes sommets favoris lors de cette rando inoubliable. ❤️

Macro Mondays theme is “In a Bottle”......The answer clearly is a Lemon, but How did it get there ??
The low evening sun is the only time these steps are illuminated under low hanging trees. The steps are part of a pair allowing access to the Rotunda in the background.

A ha-ha is a type of sunken fence that was commonly used in landscaped gardens and parks in the eighteenth century. It involved digging a deep, dry ditch, the inner side of which would be built up to the level of the surrounding turf with either a dry-stone or brick wall.
The point of the ha-ha was to give the viewer of the garden the illusion of an unbroken, continuous rolling lawn, whilst providing boundaries for grazing livestock
Sometimes it is good just to stand still and watch without a focuspoint. Just observe it all, listen and feel to our surroundings and to ourselves. What does our presence mean in all this? The answer doesn't have to be spoken in words. Nature doesn't need words.
If only in the globe I could see the answers which I still seek.
Ones that may cause tears of joy or may cause ones of sadness.
Perhaps its best to not look with hope and let things be.

Answer -Make them into a fence!
There is an old, disused railway line that closed down years ago in Balderton, Newark. After the removal of thousands of old wooden railway sleepers and conversion of the old track bed into a path and cycle way, the problem still remained over what to do with them. Many were sold off cheaply but a few were used to create fences at various points along the old line.
Most people will not even give the material used for the fence a second glance and will have no idea where they came from!

CSX's First Responders Unit #911 brings a massive M351-27 down the Sugar Creek sag and through the unique B&O signal setup at the north end of Lima yard.
This shot came from the same pier as the previous shot but a few hours earlier. The moment had me thinking of characters in movies who say to "Just sit and the answer will come to you." The question was of course what to photograph when the light was not right for what I wanted. So I sat and at my foot was this outgrowth of something, likely a weed. My mother-in-law used to say, "if it does not belong there it is likely a weed."
The blonde color of the item contrasted with the dark wood. And, it shone brightly as the low rays of the sun painted it on the dark canvas of wood. All I had to do was compose the image and my subject would stand out. So I reversed the leading lines and created a triangle that might lead the viewers eyes back to my little subject. The one that was sitting right beside me when I sat down to find an opportunity. I guess those really are all around us, we just need to take a moment to see them.
How can you capture the light mood in an old deciduous forest aut autumn time? I asked myself this question, and I found many answers. This is one of them.
