Who lived here? How many children peered out the windows? What led to the neglect and abandonment? And what is the story behind those chairs? I don’t expect to ever know the answers….

Thank you, everyone, for the comments and faves to my posting last week of Salthenge. There were many questions from that shot, so I wanted to take time and answer for everyone.

Today's view of Salthenge includes two folding chairs to give it scale.

Q: Who created it?

A; Still unknown. I am betting on aliens, and its a secret signal

Q: Where are the footprints?

A: Further proof of aliens......this section of salt is rock hard and not like beach sand. Many areas of the lake has loose / soft salt that is fragile, but this area is sunbaked hard, like concrete.

A bigger problem is tracking dirt/sand on the salt and leaving those dirt footprints (I was extra careful)

Q: Where did the rocks come from?

A: Aliens or an area of rocks about 66 meters / 216 feet away

Q: How large is this?

A: Did my photo today help give it scale? Maybe I should let you know those folding chairs are 12.7cm /5 inches tall :-) No drone involved, just the mini chairs and my Sony a7iii :-)

Q: How long will it last?

A: Humans create things, and just as fast, they destroy things. It becomes much harder to take apart if it lasts a few months as the salt will act like concrete holding them in place.

Q: How big are the rocks?

A: The largest one is maybe 6 inches / 15cm. The entire circle is about 2 meters / 6.5 feet

Q: Roy wants to know why comments are always off

A: Roy, they are only off for you :-) No one else has this problem.

The Great Salt Lake - GPS is not the exact spot of the shot.

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !

Today is a black and white day at Color my world Daily and we celebrate Sliders Sunday.

My weekend was super busy but very cool !! It was almost back to pre-pandemic era normal ! We had lots of kids over (my sons’s friends), my parents came and we had a power shortage !! I know that putting two exclamations points after a « power shortage » makes it feel like something very positive but in the end it was ! We had a BBQ with candles and lots of gin and tonic. It is hot as hell in Montreal right now so spending a night without AC was truly difficult but luckily for us the electricity came back just in time.

Today is my running day so I feel like this egg: I’m set free to go ! Since it is very hot, I will run inside. So far I did 295,2km this month and I hope I will get me badge (I know it is very insignificant but I have a very addictive personality !!) and be able to get to 400km until the end of this month…

Once again, with the power being out for more than 3 hours, I didn’t had the time to answer your comments. I will catch up as soon as possible…

Mucho, mucho amor for you all !! And see you soon !!

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and well!! And see you soon on Flickr !

Monsoon, a glorious word. It is not an overstatement to say the entire west is on fire this year. It rained today, hard, soaking, drenching rain.. worth dancing in rain.

Glückwunsch Brigitte, du wusstest es.

Ich dachte, dass es so offensichtlich sei, aber so kann man sich täuschen.

I thought that it was obvious what my detail photo showed yesterday but it wasn't. We all see different things and have different associations when we look at things. Thank you for all your comments

May you all have a wonderful week. Please remember all who have served this country ... remember our Veterans on 11/11/15. Thank you for stopping by and peeking in♥

Answer this question for me please. Does the tripod and bag distract from the arch and clouds?

Mirador, Notre-Dame du Lac, Duingt, Haute-Savoie, Auvernia-Ródano-Alpes, France.

In December 1854, a cargo boat was wrecked off Duingt. The two boatmen desperately called for help, but to no avail. They prayed to the Virgin Mary, and their pleas were answered, for rescuers came from Talloires to save them. In gratitude, they placed a statue of the Blessed Virgin in a cave at Roche de Chère, located on the eastern shore of the lake opposite Duingt.

In 1875, this statue was stolen. To atone for this outrage, the young people of Duingt asked their parish priest to install a new statue in a natural cave at Taillefer, located above the village of Duingt. The Rosary Resorts were inaugurated on August 18, 1889. The statue of the Virgin Mary, unfortunately damaged, was replaced a few years ago with a statue depicting a younger Mary (Our Lady of the Annunciation). The Rosary Resorts have undergone meticulous restoration in recent years. The newly paved access road allows many people to travel more easily along the hillside leading to the Notre-Dame du Lac cave. Inside the cave, the exceptional panorama inspires prayer and meditation.

I do not know what to answer you. I would like that you feel better very simply ,and not being a cause of suffering.

You just can't live that negative way. You know what I mean. Make way for the positive day. Cause it's a new day... -

The universe does not know whether the vibration that you're offering is because of something you're observing or something you're remembering or something that you are imagining. It just receives the vibration and answers it with things that match it.” -

Abraham Hicks

The words we choose to use when we communicate with each other, carry vibrations. The word ‘war’ carries a whole different vibration than the word ‘peace’. The words we use are showing how we think and how we feel. The careful selection of words, helps to elevate our consciousness and resonate in higher frequencies. -

Grigoris Deoudis

A no has a different frequency than a yes, and a maybe is all vibration, oscillating between no and yes. My favorite answers have no movement.” -

ENG: How do we want to live in the future? The Futurium motivates its guests to engage with different future perspectives and possibilities, and to do so in a playful way: various scenarios, an exhibition, a future lab and a forum for dialogue and discussion invite you to develop your own attitude.

The FUTURIUM building was opened on 5 September 2019 and is a kind of future museum and thus aims to answer open questions about the future. Admission is free and anyone can visit it not far from Berlin's main railway station. I personally can only recommend it. If only because the roof terrace (skywalk) offers a beautiful panoramic view over Berlin's city centre.

The Royal Arrival is stray tomcat which visits the Wild Garden on a daily basis, spending most of his time here. Still he is very cautious not to let come humans too close to him - it is obvious he must have made bad experiences with the human race. But on this day he allowed me to come quite close to him to take this close up portrait. It took years to be allowed so close to him.

He is very welcome here, loved and cared for as much as he accepts being cared for. He loves his indedpendence and wild life which is well respected. Also, he is very talkative – when talking to him he always answers as he loves to have the last word 😄….

On many a hike I've pondered (yes, aloud) why am I doing this? On most of those occasions there has been a payoff of some sort. Today was something different. When I neared the pinnacle of the trail to Silver Falls and was hit by a sudden chill in the otherwise oppressive heat of the dense forest that I'd been traversing I knew that I'd found the falls that I sought. The moment that I topped the hill into the clearing facing this marvel is difficult to explain. I picked up the camera two years ago and ever since have tried to convey the beauty around me and today I stumbled upon a place of indescribable, soul wrenching, heart surging, peace inspiring beauty like I've never seen. This photo can not convey the sound of the boulders being heaved, the pounding of the flow as it raced by, the sheer knee shaking euphoria that one gets from standing here and witnessing this force of nature. Everyone in the world should stand right here for ten minutes, if they did there would be no more strife.

If it is a miracle any sort of evidence will answer, but if it is a fact, proof is necessary.

Apparently, harbor seals have a nictitating membrane like birds have, to protect the eye. So, it appears the the right eye has the membrane down, while the left eye does not.

My Question:

I wonder about seal's right eye, if anyone can explain that. Maybe a blind/defective/wounded eye or odd reflection, or blinking???

A friend asked me: "After all these Safaris you made, what are you looking for this time? What is it you like to snap this time?"

My answer was: "Honey Badger! We´v seen them often, but I never was able to get a clean shot of one of those guys. They always tend to disappear in the grass only allowing blurry butt shots."

As if someone had listened, luck was on our side and we had this lovely badger in hunting mode for several minutes. The critter never stood still but I was lucky enough to get some nice shots, at least.

How can you capture the light mood in an old deciduous forest aut autumn time? I asked myself this question, and I found many answers. This is one of them.
