Army Reserve Soldiers who answered the call to serve with 401st Army Field Support Brigade and subordinate battalions arrived at Bagram Airfield September 18. The Soldiers comprise Detachment 12 and will be deployed for one year. The Soldiers arriving at Bagram will fill positions at the brigade and AFSBn-Bagram and Logistics Task Forces and Logistics Support Elements that fall under the battalion. They were greeted by a number of 401st AFSB personnel who were very glad to see the new DET arrive – it means they are one step closer to going home. Soldiers who will be assigned to AFSBn-Kandahar, 401st AFSB arrived a few days ago and are already learning their new jobs.

Answering to any number of names; Conga ant, bullet ant, 24 hour ant, lesser giant hunting ant, the one thing consistent is the pain they cause. In their natural range from Nicaragua to Paraguay, a single stink is likened to being shot with fiery waves of pain which continue unabated for up to 24hrs. It is no wonder then that a sting by a bullet ant is rated a 4+ on the Schmidt pain index, the highest of any insect. Though apparently some tribes, notably the Satere-Mawe of Brazil have put this dubious benefit to their advantage. They gather up a large number of these ants, up to 100 and then sew them into a glove, stingers facing inwards. This is then presented to a boy of the tribe. In order to graduate to manhood he must don the glove and leave it on for a set period of time without crying out. This process is repeated, sometimes 20 times until the tribe is satisfied and the boy has become a man. Fortunately there are other uses and the poneratoxin is currently being studied in modern medicine as a voltage gated sodium channel inhibitor which blocks synaptic transmission in insects though it acts as a smooth muscle agonist in mammals.
These are the largest of the Ponerine ants achieving lengths of 20-30mm long. They display little variation between castes, workers displaying variation only insofar as a normal distribution curve with no specialization. They make nests at the base of trees and forage on the surrounding trees, climbing into the canopy to search for nectar sources and small invertebrates. If they feel their nest is being threatened they release a musky odor and stridulate from a pair of organs in the thorax.Found during a night hike in kanuku mountains. ARC answers LEHIGH’s challenge to remove 4500sq feet of transite panels comprising the outer skin of the concrete company’s 120ft tall smelter. Transite is an asbestos and concrete mix that was used extensively in the 1960s and 1970s. The panels were removed to make room for new equipment at the state-of-the-art cement manufacturing facility. The asbestos abatement removal project was completed on-time and on-budget.

Explosions have been reported across Caracas, Venezuela as an apparent U.S. bombing campaign has begun targeting the country. This war is not about drug trafficking, it is not about democracy -- it is about stealing Venezuela's oil and dominating Latin America. It is an outrageous escalation in a campaign of murder in international waters and piracy targeting civilian ships trading with Venezuela.
The outer side plate and the announcement recording PCB are now fitted. The heads are located under their clamp (final positioning will need one of the tape cartridges which I do not yet have) and the tape guide assembled.
