I spent the day at Brookvale Public School, visiting as part of CSIRO's Scientists in Schools program. I showed kids from kindergarten to year 6 various things about astronomy. They were really keen and had lots of questions!
Intercom panel and stereo speaker. Warning: intercom details and geekery below.
Some rooms (I believe here, the music room, and the bench room) had these large intercom speakers in pairs, for stereo sound; one of each pair was the master, having tone, function and call/answer controls. The smaller single intercom panels, which could still play music and call/answer, were in all four bedrooms, the upstairs hallway bathroom (really!), the sun room (despite the fact that you could hear anyone talking in the kitchen, where the main intercom master was, from there) and the dining room, with simple answer speakers at the front, side and back doors that also had doorbell buttons, making a total of twelve stations. For all I know, there was another in the guest house and/or garage. The intercom panel was not the type which could access stations individually, though even if it had been a master that can operate 16 extensions doesn't necessarily mean sixteen are installed. This was a decentralized system, where the individual panels have talk/monitor/listen controls but the master panel doesn't have switches for the stations, just a general inside, outside, both, off.

It depicts a Nader backer with a smug look on his face because even though his candidate lost, the loss bolsters his self-righteous attitude that he has the answers to everything.
Do you see yourself as a positive person or negative?
If this was one of the questions asked during a job interview how many would answer?
I have no statistics on this nor am trying to suggest that the either is correct.
Perhaps an easier question would be if you had a glass of water that was filled half-way, do you see it as half-full or half-empty?
I’m not judging here really I’m not.
Just presenting the idea.
They say most people are who they are meaning happy and positive or sad and negative. You can have accolades and accomplishments and make more money etc. but in the end after the quick surge where you have been handed the trophy and the dust settles you are back right where whichever state of mind you were.
Some statistics say after you reach an annual income of $75,000, people who make more are no more happier. Income is truly a detriment. You need money to survive.
There are always the if then I would be happy statement too.
The tough part is happiness is a state of mind not an if then.
There are plenty of ways to help and here are some I think work.
1) travel-no better way to understand the world and people more, its a you’ll never know who your gonna meet kind of thing and you understand yourself more as a person and empathize with people. You learn more about the world.
2) Nature- another place where its just natural and quiet. A walk in the woods does do you good.
3)Dinner with your family or friends- Ideas and stories happen here. The daily where listening to each person is required.
4)Activities-biking,skiing,swimming,jogging,kayaking,climbing and many more. This helps mood as well and shows that yes you are alive.
5)Support network- friends,family,coworkers, etc. Those that have good positive energy that can be exchanged.
Either way in the state of mind of happiness. We are the company that we keep.

I marked a red line on the flywheel and illuminated it with my home-made LED stroboscope. The motor was powered by my bench PSU, and the preset on the motor speed control PCB adjusted to get the right speed.
Since the unit is used only for speech recording, this should be near enough. I can always re-set it later if I get a frequency test tape.
The left side of the chassis with the main wiring harness is screwed to the front, the switch bank and operating keys are then fitted to the front of the chassis. The connectors to the announcement recording unit are also connected up.
