It was another late bloomer this morning. After teasing me for a few minutes with some cotton-candy clouds, the colors finally intensified just one minute prior to sunrise. Once again, there is simply no substitute for showing up and waiting. Time is indeed a luxury.

(Diema 5240/1993) shunts a lodaded train into the tipping shed at the peat works at Drochtersen-Aschhornermoor.
This 600mm system is close to banks of the River Elbe north west of Hamburg.

I was hopping between these three computers this morning when I stopped to think how funny the whole scene must have looked.
I was bored, and I thought it would probably come in handy later to have blank pictures of my doll heads, so here you are :D
(Plus it gives me a perfect excuse to play with my dollies even though I have yet to customize them)

One more for my collection, photographically surveying the ways in which different tradesmen carry and organize their tools. This is a trailer used by a general construction contractor. It's probably about a 6 x 12-foot trailer. I talked briefly with one of the guys who was working on a breezeway addition to a house, and mentioned that it looked like he had really come up with a good system for organizing his tools. "It's got everything we need," he said without a moment's pause in his work. I let it go at that. He seemed like another "busy as a beaver" type of workman.
Spotted at Xihu - literally "West Lake" - a very famous scenic lake in Hangzhou. It features in many classic literary works and is a popular tourist destination today.

According to Wikipedia, there are ten well-known scenic spots in and around the lake. They have very poetic names in chinese, but unfortunately become a cumbersome mouthful when translated:
