Shoulda put on a wider lens...
Barely got all this beauty in.
Heading out soon for my last major photo safari of the year. Hope to fill up lots of memory cards. Easy to do in beautiful Canada.
Have a wonderful couple of weeks. I know I will.
Thanks for taking a look!

This is my last post before Christmas, so wanted to wish you all a wonderful holiday season, whether or not you celebrate. And I'd like to thank you for all your lovely comments throughout the year. I've made so many friends on here, and quite a few more in the past year, and love the interactions and seeing the mix of all your different types of photography. Looking forward to another year of photography and friendship :)
I made these wire balls for Christmas decorations and put them into a crystal bowl. Taken with my Pentacon AV 80mm, and Kenko extension tubes.

Here some photos of the beautiful Bled lake in the city of the same name, during my quick passage through Slovenia. It's a glacial lake and the waters shows a stunning color, even when the sky is gray ...
Bled is situated in the north-west of the country and nestled in the heart of the Julian Alps in the Triglav National Park.

I have playing around with my hair lately. This is another haircut that I also enjoyed.
I did really like the long haircut from Vango and might stick with that one for a bit longer. However, I think this one looks good also. Depending on the occasion / need / whim, I could mix it up.
As for hairbases, Volkstone are the pinnacle for hairbases. They were the original "no-line" hairbase and are still the standard to aim for.
This is the Gordon hairbase from Not Found. Over the last year the Not Found hairbases have improved immensely. I thought at first that they were a bit ... I don't know ... rigid feeling. Now however, they definitely look and "feel" more natural. The newer Not Found hairbases are definitely a great option now
This one was on the path at Fernhill. It emerged next to the path, posed for me briefly in this inverted position, then flew off.
A Northern Gannet shown from another angle. These birds have a very expressive appearance - this for example is what they show each other when they want to impress - before they attack or dance, depends who is watching: another male or a beautiful gannet lady.

And: I don't like Comment-Codes, "awards", or such groups. They will be deleted. Explanation at my profile. Also please don't post pictures in the commenting-area. You could post them much better in your own photo stream. Your own words will mean much more to me than a universal-text. ;-D

Hello my amazing friends !
Today we have another flamingo but, even if it is the same old Mr. Flamingo, he is standing in front of a full pink moon. So I hope that you will not get bored of Mr. Flamingo… We all know by now that my obsession can be very, very long sometimes… But I can’t help it and that is why we have another picture of Mr. Flamingo today…I promise I will try to have something different tomorrow (but please don’t be mad if, in the end, it turns out to be another flamingo picture) …
Mucho, mucho amor for you all !!

Another from my summer holiday. I love this place. Everything about it speaks to me. I'm not sure what it is....the allure of the sea, the scenic coastline, those picture perfect days, or the salt of the earth people. Whatever it is, it keeps calling me back. I can't wait to return.

Did life's penurious length
Italicize it's sweetness,
The men that daily live
Would stand so deep in joy
That it would clog the cogs
Of that revolving reason
Whose esoteric belt
Protects our sanity.

I've known for some time that the place around here to see acorn woodpeckers is Dawson Creek. But, after multiple trips there, I'd still not seen them. Finally, today,, I did my (internet) research to see _where_ at Dawson Creek that they'd been seen. I found a wetland somewhat matching the description, and immediately saw a Northern Flicker. But soon after, I saw a pair of acorn woodpeckers land on this tree. I now know where to look!!!
