Another sunset came and went,
Nothing different from the countless missed,
Yonder lies a mystery unraveling,
Another sunset,
Another step.
Still in financial shock after signing the contract for this. Should be picking it up in time for Xmas.
from "One Day Winter Sewing"- I altered the pattern just a bit- took in the sides, lengthened it, added a few darts in the back, and widened the facing. I like it. Can't wait until I can wear it with just short sleeves underneath- it feels very summery.

Just another one of the projects I worked with :)

Someone working day begins at dawn, and another in the early sunset. Quest for existence goes on every day ...... But happiness in itself can be saved ...
From Wikipedia:
Another Place is a piece of modern sculpture by Antony Gormley.
Now permanently erected on Crosby Beach, England, it was due to be moved to New York in November 2006, but there was a controversial proposal to retain the work at Crosby.
Cast iron figures which face out to sea, spread over a 2 mile (3.2 km) stretch of the beach between Waterloo and Blundellsands. Each figure is 189 cm tall (nearly 6 feet 2½ inches) and weighs around 650 kg (over 1400 lb).
In common with most of Gormley's work, the figures are cast replicas of the artist's own body. As the tides ebb and flow, the figures are revealed and submerged by the sea. The figures were cast at two foundries, Hargreaves Foundry in Halifax, West Yorkshire, and Joseph and Jesse Siddons Foundry in West Bromwich.
Another Place was first exhibited on the beach of Cuxhaven, Germany, in 1997 and after that in Stavanger in Norway and De Panne in Belgium.
Another World: Ride in the Forsaken City
Ekto-Salya, the youngest sister of Queen Io-Salya, rides in the lands of the Forsaken City. It holds no name as it was there before the first people settled and prospered.
A sunken set of ruins that sometime emerge from the sea...
Only the silence remains in this forgotten place, only disturbed by the sound of the hooves of her horse...

Downtown Atlanta is full of these things, not sure if it's to avoid the weather or the aggressive street people.
Chief Pilot Travis skillfully performs another rapid deceleration in the morning hour.
Seriously, this was my favorite maneuver when I was working on my helicopter pilot's license, too. You drop the collective to lower the power, ease back on the cyclic for a nice flare, and than lean forward ever so gently to bring the ship to a graceful hover. It's simply flying the way humans only dream of.
Here is another example of it.

Here's another sunset photo taken over Lake Superior from Gros Cap. The melting snow and ice sure made for some interesting compositions and added textures.
I used Photoshop to replicate the effect of using a graduated neutral density filter, as I broke my filter on another photo shoot, and haven't replaced it yet.
iso 100. shutter speeds were 1/320s, 1/125s, and 1/200s.
I tried to get some lights in the background to judge oof blur, but my fishtank London is fiber-optic, and the lights rotate on and off, and I didn't watch the timing... :)
Interesting that the Canon meters faster.
AF-confirm ring works much like the F-mount one (not surprising, since I got it from the same eBay supplier, and he probably puts the same chips on all of them). The ring itself, however, is a much tighter fit than the Nikon one (no teflon tape needed), and has a knurled rim, which actually is needed to mount the lens.
Sorry, but these only stay in bloom for a few days.

Deserted and desolate, only the pallets remain.
Hurrah! The fifth and final picture for the Curse of the Consecutive Colourless Challenge. Phew! I know some people thrive on this sort of thing but for me it was a bit too much like work, which is the very thing i use photography to escape from.
If this has done anything it's reminded me of why i am a clueless snapper and not a proper photographer - i take pictures of whatever i fancy for fun, for the sheer joy of doing it, not because i have to. Freerange freedom photographic fun. And if anyone else happens to like it, so much the better, and if they don't, well i'm sure they can find something else to look at.
Long exposure shot at Another Place; Anthony Gormly's statues on Crosby beach. Unfortunately it was pretty overcast, so I didn't end up with quite the shot I was hoping for.
This was one of the first shots I took with a Hoya ND+400 filter. Despite doing a fair amount of reading up on them, there's certainly an amount of trial and error in getting usable shots with the filter when you're new to them, but I had great fun.

As someone who has spent his adult life in a modest apartment, I have no idea what people do with this amount of space.
Anthony Gromley's Another Place consists of 100 cast-iron, life-size figures spread out along three kilometers of the foreshore, stretching almost one kilometre out to sea.
The work is seen as a poetic response to the individual and universal sentiments associated with emigration - sadness at leaving, but the hope of a new future in another place.
The figures - each one weighing 650 kilos - are made from casts of the artist's own body and are shown at different stages of rising out of the sand, all of them looking out to sea, staring at the horizon in silent expectation.

Route A seen approaching Trumpington 'village' (or Foster Road) on the Southern section of the Cambridgeshire Guided Busway. The people in the shelter will have to wait for this to reach the Park & Ride and turn around. The arrivals board read 7 minutes, but I think it was a little longer. Quality is not so great as it was a mobile phone shot under tricky lighting conditions.
