One of several sets of portraits of Romans between 100 BCE and 300 CE taken at The Met - New York City. I have attempted to show these once very much living people as if they were still living, feeling, thinking human beings.

Leaving Waterloo station in London the other day, I was quite taken by this ‘ancient and modern’ view – the spire of St John’s church in the foreground, and One Blackfriars behind it.

St John’s church was built in 1822; One Blackfriars (also nicknamed ‘The Vase’) was completed in 2018.

Exploring Holme Fen on a Sunday afternoon. I was out all day looking for new spots and exploring the Autumn transition.

Holme Fen is mostly Birch trees but amongst the dense woodland there's a few other unique types.

These are very beautiful and peaceful woods with a wonderful timeless feel about them.

Ancient Greek artifact of the so-called Geometric period, characteristic of the Dark Ages era of Ancient Greece.

I found a group of living, twisted and ancient cedar trees recently. The character of these old and beautiful trees are extremely appealing to me and I feel fortunate to find a special one now and then. To find several is even more special.

Thanks for looking, commenting and favs. I have run out of time to spend on Flickr, although it has helped grow my skills more than any one thing that I can name. I continue to try to stop by occassionally!!

You would never forget your first journey to Glencolmcille. It's remote beauty is a joy to behold even on a dull evening like this.

This Pillar Stone faces towards the ocean and marks a Station on an ancient pilgrimage known as Turas Cholmcille which probably dates from 500-600AD.

Archaeologists tell us the pillar is about 5,000 years old.
