The Univ. of Pittsburgh researchers found 82% agreement in the assignment, by two individuals, of phrase-level sentiment polarity to automatically identified subjective statements in a test document set. Polarity (a.k.a. valence) is the sentiment direction: positive, negative, both, or neutral.
The authors further report, "For 18% of the subjective expressions, at least one annotator used an uncertain tag when marking polarity. If we consider these cases to be borderline and exclude them from the study, percent agreement increases to 90%."

Social Network Analysis applied to marketing a small business. Where the business has come from is apparent.
Before our site visit to worlds end, we were asked to create a site analysis model to represent what we have researched on worlds end.
After my partner and I did our research, we focused on what we thought was the most interesting element of worlds end.
Designed by the landscape architect Frederick Olmstead around 1889, one of his biggest contribution to the site was the double tree lined path. The avenues of tree provides protection from the sun in the summer, as well as a way to guide and frame views of elements of the site. these views include small vignettes within the sites as well as views out around the boston harbor.
The horizontal elements in the model represents the path which weaves up and down. The vertical sticks acts as a form of guidance while providing various forms of gaps and opening representing the different types of viewing platform of the site.

The wolves stopped in their tracks, sizing up the mother and her cubs. It had been over a week since their last meal and they were getting desperate. The cubs would make a good meal, but there were high risks taking on the mother Grizzly. A decision had to be made and the wrong choice could signal the end of the pack.

The winter was cruel that year; shelter and food were scarce. Every creature was just hoping that this would pass only to bring a warm and prosperous spring ahead. The wolves were also facing the brunt of these harsh temperatures. Even though they hunted in a pack, it meant that they had more stomachs to feed. It had been almost a week since they ate anything. But they did not have much of an option than to come out early in the day, face the winds and hunt. Keeping themselves warm and alive was the priority. They could not afford their pack to decline. The day was long and tiring. They found nothing much and the remnant energy also took a drop. Simply, the pack had not much motivation left by the end of the day and all of them were exhausted badly. All they could do was to tread back home without anything in their hands.
On the way back, one of the younger wolves got distracted by some movement off the white snow tracks. Its excitement lured none. Although everyone’s head moved to check if it was some sort of threat. It was difficult for them to figure out what or who was present there, a likely opponent. But as they reached close quarters, it came to the realization that it was not a predator lurking for them. A healthy number of bear cubs were fooling around in the snow. The wolf pack sensed an opportunity. It seemed like they finally found for what they were desperately wandering around the whole day. They could think no more as it seemed very easy at the moment for them. As they approached nearer, ready to pounce like a pack, a huge figure appeared from the heap of fresh snow nearby. Grizzly, their mother sensed this development only to wake up and find her children in trouble. She growled at them as if to tell them that it was not as easy as it seemed to be.
Although, this remained a good opportunity for the wolves. Finally, they could satisfy their hunger and ensure that they do not die of starving in the crisp December. There was not much to think about, after all, it was about life and death. The alpha hinted his decision to the pack. They had to fight for their life. On the other hand, Grizzly had no choice too. She had to fight for her children, and she would till her last breath. In less than a minute, the predators were all over their prey. Grizzly tried to defend her cubs very hard, and the struggle was intense. Her growls turned into desperate cries which could not be heard anymore as the number of wolves in the pack clearly overpowered the single bear mother. It was chaos that later settled down into an eerie silence. The pack was no longer dying of hunger.
