Street artist Banksy curated a gallery of subversive and satirical pieces based on theme parks. The gallery was located at Tropicana, itself a dismal shadow of its former self, a lido on the coast of the Severn Estuary at Weston-Super-Mare. Tropicana itself was closed around the turn of the 21st century, and has fallen into disrepair since. The installation was assembled largely in secret.
I was particularly amused by this section of graffiti in Jimmy Cauty's model village depicting some seemingly quite complicated maths.

It has been a busy few weeks in the house! Once I knew that Pixel was adopted - we brought a new little girl (Lucie) in as a foster on Nov. 2nd. On Nov. 6th Lucie went in for her spay. On Nov. 7th Pixel went to her furever home. On Nov. 10th - Lucie had a meet and greet with some amazing potential adopters. On Nov. 11th - the news was given that Lucie would be adopted by this lovely couple. On Nov. 17th Lucie will have her stitches removed from her spay - then later in the week she will journey to her furever home. Phew!

This shop sign amuses me. I drive past it on my way into uni.
I will explain for non-British people (or maybe even non-north west England people):
It amuses me because it is a play on words - Baps is a local word for sandwiches. But Baps is also another words for breasts / boobs!
I think whoever approved this sign at the local Council must've had a giggle.

Tomato consomme, cauliflower puree, salmon roe, and aged balsamic vinegar.
Notes: The tomato "consomme" was more like a consomme jelly. I didn't really get the tomato flavor. But the cauliflower with the salmon roe and balsamic was nice.
Strange amuse bouche, I'd have to say. Strange.

A riff off miso soup featuring dense bite sized bricks of "pasta semolina" (like dry eggy focaccia bread made into dry-ish French toast), on miso sauce topped with scallions and nori. Think miso soup that you can pick up with chopsticks.
The first of the clever Korean-Italian (and French technique) fused dishes that was not at all gimmicky but 100% tasty.
Paired with a very neutral Creemore Springs Traditional Pilsner

- watercress, snails, herbs, shellfish broth
Amuse was presented on a scallop shell, with frozen watercress powder blanketing the snails. Waitstaff recommended to take the first bite as a palate cleanser, before shellfish broth was poured over. Freshness of the herbs accentuated the rich shellfish broth, and yet stood in the foreground as we enjoyed this canape.

This amused me massively. Once of the many local Ladas with a 0-60 time of about 2 years, but with a rear spoiler added for those high speed situations. Fluffy dice come to Russia...

"Milk & Honey"
Notes: It tasted like 2x milk x 2x honey. These delicate spheroids were served at room temperature, which I think only intensified their sweetness and flavor.
