Aligned with the Government's efforts to create more responsible civil servants in handling Government’s digital information and the use of cyber mediums, the he National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA) organized the Public Sector Security Awareness Program 2017 for a month in October. The program aims to provide awareness to civil servants on the ethical use cyber mediums especially in managing and handling Government’s digital information. The program also aims to educate civil servants about the negative impacts of mishandling the information and abuse of the medium to organizations, the Government and the country. The program started with the Official Launch of Public Sector Cyber Security Awareness Month by Chief Secretary to the Government on the 3rd October 2017. The event also launched the 10-Step Cyber Security Awareness Guidebook which contains 10 basic steps that all civil servants have to implement in order to foster best practices in cyber security and protect the digital information of the Government, organizations and country.
Talk and course activities were conducted in collaboration with other ministries and government agencies as well as strategic partners identified throughout October 2017. Among activities that had been carried out were the Putrajaya Hospital Cyber Security Briefing, MCMC Network Security Industry Talk, Cyber Security Awareness Talk in conjunction with the Department of Property Management and Assessment’ s ICT Day and Cyber Security Awareness Briefing to Government servants.
