A rainforest is an area of tall, mostly evergreen trees and a high amount of rainfall. Rainforests are Earth’s oldest living ecosystems, with some surviving in their present form for at least 70 million years. They are incredibly diverse and complex, home to more than half of the world’s plant and animal species—even though they cover just 6% of Earth’s surface. This makes rainforests astoundingly dense with flora and fauna. Rainforests’ rich biodiversity is incredibly important to our well-being and the well-being of our planet.
"ChicagoHenge" occurs during the Spring and Autumn equinoxes when the rising and setting sun aligns with the east-west streets of downtown Chicago, Illinois. This photo was taken at sunset during the Fall equinox as seen in the West Madison Street Corridor.

After getting skunked on a previous trip with former NS leasers our contingent was rewarded with a perfect 3 pack of blue ACe's and clear skies. With time running out on the line we considered ourselves lucky having the stars align on this remote Northwoods railroad.
A white ibis and an immature little blue heron strike similar poses as they search for food.

It has been time to align the Q-Tips accurate. A couple minutes ago there was a huge mess in the bathroom. Gladly we got the tiny little helpers in our house :) Showtime for one of theme.
