I picked this dud up at the Circus. There were a ton of them running around at the Circus. You should have seen the family of five purple aliens that sat across from us. How can people not believe they are real. They are all OVER!!!

Posing some NECA Aliens figures. Hicks & Hudson. I don't have the best set up for a display, so I had to make do.
I made some photoshop adjustments, like making it darker, increasing the blue hues, & adding some film grain, to make it more like the film.

he's made from ordinary and readily-available items, nothing special. I've just upgraded him in anticipation of the new film coming out in May, adding 'visual clutter' with the addition of more blood vessels and body hair, all to soften the edges and breaks in his shell.
Paint update on the "crabwalker" Alien as seen in the deleted scenes from the 1979 Sir Ridley Scott film - ALIEN. 1:18 scale.
Meant to post an update earlier this week but unfortunately I had to make some repairs to my "crabwalker" figure due to some loose shoulder joints and air bubbles discovered in one of the upper arms while cleaning them up. It's important to correct this as the two arms hold most of the weight of the figure while in the "crabwalking" position - they need to be strong and stable with tight joint work. The figure can also stand semi-upright, recreating the scene where the alien rises slowly in front of Lambert.
Now primed with about three to four coats of undercoat gray acrylic, it's ready to be painted. More updates to come! #alien #nostromo #painting #crabwalker #deletedscene #customactionfigure
It starts with a facehugger leaping out of a pod. After internal parasitisation and metamorphosis, the facehugger drops off......but then comes the chestburster!

For the shadow shot I held my chestburster up beside me in my left hand.
It's not easy being an alien.
I tried to go to the grocery store for some special alien food and I just felt like crawling back in my ship. Why do people on earth act so mean and racist? I have feelings too. Just because I may look and talk a little different, and have some quirks that earthlings may not understand, doesn't mean I deserve to be treated like a second rate being.
I also don't understand why they continue to fight in wars. My civilization is a peaceful one. We have no wars and no religion. We realized that religion is the main reason for wars.
The more evolved we become the less we need religion because we realize that religion is merely used as a placenta to pacify our spirits and mask the truth. It's kind of like that cool movie "The Matrix" I highly recommend watching this flick. It's a very cool earth movie that also happens to be very deep and has a lot of truth principles.
Needless to say that here on this planet I feel like a rejected alien. This is why I created this blog. By the way, I see that blogs are a good way to unite the world.

You probably didn't know that, but I'm a long-term fan of speculative biology (even before "The Future Is Wild" was released), but I have never taken a part actively.
Things have changed, and some time after I stopped with origami, I decided to start my own xenobiology project. I am still quite early on in the project and I'm aiming to create a global biosphere of an alien planet.
This here is a squid-like animal that lives in the seas of the planet. It moves by flapping with its four fins - when the upper fins go down, the lower fins go up and vice versa - and also by pumping water through the gill chamber on top of the body.
The mouthparts consist of four "C-.like" toothed blades arranged in two concentric pairs.
The jaws open to the sides, rather than up and down, and are suspended within the "lip" musculature, with only the teeth showing.

I went for a walk in the woods and stumbled on an alien world, dominated by yellow precipices and lots of flies.
Can anyone narrow down the ID on this fly? I want to say it's from the Tephritidae family, or possibly Drosophilidae. I really don't know. Found in the woods in Maryland between DC and Baltimore.

Alien She, curated by Astria Suparak + Ceci Moss, is the first exhibition to examine the lasting impact of Riot Grrrl on artists and cultural producers working today. A pioneering punk feminist movement that emerged in the early 1990s, Riot Grrrl has had a pivotal influence, inspiring many around the world to pursue socially and politically progressive careers as artists, activists, authors and educators. Emphasizing female and youth empowerment, collaborative organization, creative resistance and DIY ethics, Riot Grrrl helped a new generation to become active feminists and create their own culture and communities that reflect their values and experiences, in contrast to mainstream conventions and expectations.
Riot Grrrl formed in reaction to pervasive and violent sexism, racism and homophobia in the punk music scene and in the culture at large. Its participants adapted strategies from earlier queer and punk feminisms and ‘70s radical politics, while also popularizing discussions of identity politics occurring within academia, but in a language that spoke to a younger generation. This self-organized network made up of teenagers and twenty-somethings reached one another through various platforms, such as letters, zines, local meetings, regional conferences, homemade videos, and later, chat rooms, listservs and message boards. The movement eventually spread worldwide, with chapters opening in at least thirty-two states and twenty-six countries.* Its ethos and aesthetics have survived well past its initial period in the ‘90s, with many new chapters forming in recent years. Riot Grrrl’s influence on contemporary global culture is increasingly evident – from the Russian collective Pussy Riot’s protest against corrupt government-church relations to the popular teen website Rookie and the launch of Girls Rock Camps and Ladyfest music and art festivals around the world.
Alien She focuses on seven people whose visual art practices were informed by their contact with Riot Grrrl. Many of them work in multiple disciplines, such as sculpture, installation, video, documentary film, photography, drawing, printmaking, new media, social practice, curation, music, writing and performance – a reflection of the movement’s artistic diversity and mutability. Each artist is represented by several projects from the last 20 years, including new and rarely seen works, providing an insight into the development of their creative practices and individual trajectories.
