The Xenomorph's look certainly changed between films, though that may simply be due to the age of an individual drone.

One of those spinny rides that presses you to the wall inside. The kids loved it. Sue and I had too much spinning that day.
Stardate 1130.11. The crew of the USS Enterprise encounters hostile beings from an advanced civilization. After the Enterprise is fired upon, Lieutenant Chekov launches photon torpedoes and the alien craft is destroyed.
The aliens landed and began offloading the Geo Metros so that they could enslave the human race with a very fuel efficient attack.
It was about 5 degrees F above zero when I took this picture. The frozen mist from the falls accumulated on shrubs planted around the falls. Colored lights projected on the falls contributed to an otherworldly look.

This is "Alien". You are with Sigourney Weaver aboard the spaceship Nostromo. Something has gone wrong. One by one, the crew has vanished, and somewhere in the ship, a terrifying creature waits to claim its next victim. Warning! Remain in your vehicle. The area you are entering is extremely dangerous. Proceed with caution!
By far the most difficult portion of this ride to photograph.

Paint progress on "The Beast "- ALIEN 79 - 1:18 scale. Moving right along with the paint apps to the head sculpts. I have multiple head sculpts made for the creature and several for the beast from Alien: Isolation. Many have made their opinions known about whether or not the skull should be seen through the front of the dome. In my next blog entry, I will elaborate my thoughts about when it should..and when it should not be shown and how it has influenced my choices when painting the head sculpts. The second of two semi-static posed figures is complete. This version depicts the creature as it appears in the deleted "crab-walker" scene from the 1979 film as Lambert and Parker make a desperate attempt to escape the Nostromo. This deleted scene however was thought comical by many, not well executed on film and revealed too much of the creature...reducing it to nothing more than a man in a rubber suit...something Ridley Scott was avoiding by using smoke and shadow.
Hand sculpted, hand painted. 1:18 scale. I borrowed resin cast parts from the original Alien figure I created a year earlier, made modifications to the torso, neck, shoulders
and legs.
When crouched or "crab walking", the figure is approx. 3" high from highest point on head to the feet. When standing, the figure is approx. 5.25" high, still not fully erect as the leg and hip joints limit the full motion (again, this was originally meant to be a static posed figure). Fortunately I was able to add several articulation points to the figure: Ball jointed neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees and ankles. Vacuum formed PETG dome is removable. The tail is static but is attached using a revoltech joint and can be switched out with a longer tail option.
Original was sculpted using Aves FIXIT sculpt, a two part epoxy. Parts were cast in resin and assembled to build this version. Used Model Masters Polly Scale and Tamiya acrylics.

This was on of the first shots I did, months ago. Originally it was a Easter Egg joke, but I like the shot, mainly because of the Alien looming over our intrepid astronauts.
The Reflections were all accidental... and its when I started to see if I could do a moody image with Lego Minifigs. The Picture is exactly how I took it, the only changes were to crop, and black out a slight reflection of the arm I used to hold the LED reflection.
I'll definitely re-do this on with better lighting.
I painted this on my front porch during the hot days!
Painted on a 60x40 8mm mdf board pre-painted white all round!
Painted with acryl metallic which gives it a nice effect upon different angles!!
