This is another beautiful geometrical box design by Jorge Jaramillo that I had the pleasure to testfold.
I folded them some few weeks ago and find today some time to photograph them with nice weather here in Bavaria :).
So at the start of the new year, my buddy Jeremy Witteveen asked me to participate in a monthly photo challenge. Actually, challenge is the wrong word. It's more of a way to motivate (which I could use some times) eachother to create an image based around a different theme every month. January's theme was "levitation". I'm 2 days late by the way. frown emoticon Sorry dude.
I thought about alien abduction and was inspired a bit by the "Fire in the Sky" movie poster (1993). I originally wanted to go out in the woods and have this dude getting sucked up (not off) by aliens and this chick was in the car freaking out. Had a smoke bomb ready to make the car headlights look cool, and some other stuff... but here in Chicago lately (or atleast the week I wanted to do this) the temps have been about 5-15 degrees. Fuck that.
Plan b: I knew my friend Emily Gualdoni had been rock climbing lately so we used her harness and that ass from the rafters, anchored her to a Rolls Royce, and lit her with a parabolic umbrella from above. Created a sky with gradients and some trees I snapped in Washington over the summer, and the ground was some fake grass from a hobby store (same shit I did with the Little Red Riding Hood shoot 5 years ago).
Am I thrilled with the shot? No. But it was alot of fun and I'm looking forward to Febuary's theme, ICE.

There seem to be little aliens in the center of these orchids my wife grows in our garden. Should I be worried? ;-)
When the first worlds war started, the Alien Empire recycled a lot of its daily life ships into war machines. Based on solarfishes hunting ship frame and equiped with two crystal shrapnel plasma blasters, FANTOMEs are perfect fighters for search and destroy missions.
Of course it didn't take long for Blacktrons (who recrute humans and aliens all the same) to get their hands on some FANTOMEs and start mass production. Their stealth abilities make them indispensable in Blacktrons "activities".

This one is definitely better than my last Alien Viper. This started as a Viper for a different theme but it ended up not fitting, so I changed the cockpit. (You'll probably see the other themed one tomorrow) I'm really proud of this one too, the shape is so unique.

What makes the alien-performance-dance-art band Big Nazo happier than just about anything else is when they get to shake it out in joy with the audience, and there's a lot of that at the Cantina at the End of the Universe party.
Big Nazo's giant bouncy costumes are startling at first glance and adorable a few steps in. With the musicians doing their relentless happy thing on stage, they get a workout from the crowd at this apparently-annual Gemini & Scorpio party, which celebrates May 4th (Star Wars Day, for those in the proper circles).
Here we've got a set of aliens stepping and jumping and booty-bumping, and in the background are some of the Big Nazo members in their space-traveler costumes. Alt-model Neffer LeMort, in and out of a red-orange jumpsuit from the future and a couple of leather straps, is in the thick of the melee.

Digging behind the various threads, personalities and events that litter the Ufology landscape like a post-war zone leaves one with two things. The first – a very bitter taste in the mouth. Second – a distinct impression that if anything holds true it is that a common theme throughout Ufology scams is technology.
If you consider all of the various weird and wild claims throughout the years – Burisch and his Ganesh Particle, John Lear and exchanged alien technology, Rick Doty and the Roswell-recovered Energy Device, John Titor and Time Travel Technology, Steven Greer and his energy and propulsion technologies and last but not least, Gordon Novel and his RAM antigravity project – they all center around a common theme.
That theme is this – aliens delivered a technology that humans have yet to reverse engineer, but when we do it will have earth shattering social implications.
Is this true? How would alien technology affect society when it first surfaces and becomes either commercialized or militarized? What if the technology is so advanced that it completely changes the normal order of business and the functioning of society?
The truth is – all technological development has had that effect on society to some extent. From 1850 to 1900, the world was completely transformed by the advent of new technologies like the railroad, telegraphs and eventually in the early 1900′s – the automobile.
Numerous historians noted how the railroad “annihilated space and time” for individuals and entire regions. Early travel by horseback or wagon was not even comparable to the fraction of the time it took to travel by railroad to remote locations.
Vacations to distant cities and even remote getaway spots became highly fashionable and popular. Trade routes opened up between distant cities that were never before possible or even imaginable. In all cases – entire businesses and industries were both destroyed and born with the advent of society-changing technologies.
