And Finally some Aliens, now go buy the book ;)
It’s got a very nice chapter by SlyOwl ( www.flickr.com/photos/27444109@N04/) , so you really should get a copy.
Special thanks to Laura and Nathan.

Looks like the space crew has to deal with an alien piloting a robo-dino! Better arm the chronorocket and send that dino back to the FuturePast.
This is the birthday gift I've built for my friend "ALIEN" great fan of Alien saga.
Its my Ripley's and Alien queen cubedude version. I modified eyes of cubedudes because I thought it could give more expression than those used by the original creator of cube dudes: Angus McLane. It's just a feeling.
Hope both alien and lego fans will like ;)
This Orange Alien Sculpture has wonderful antennas. And within the antennas this Orange Alien has a special dream catcher to sense and deflect any unwanted energies. Within the dream catcher web are beautiful gemstones and crystals. There are vibrant orange carnelians! Beautiful glass beads also reside here. This original sculpture is created by me.
The Orange Alien's eyes are an electric blue that are so beautiful. I hand painted these glass eyes to create the perfect effect. To compliment his blue eyes, the Orange Alien has blue feathers hanging from both sides of his antennae.
The Alien's face has been sculpted by me to have refined and delicate features. His expression is a bit of a trance like state that he is in. Along with the vibrant orange I have used yellow and pink colors to compliment the orange.
So, which movie was better? There's no denying that Alien and Prometheus share many things between them, from body horror to a strong female survivor. Alien has an emphasis on horrific motherhood, from alien impregnation to the computer called "MOTHER." Prometheus focuses on fathers - the neglectful, abusive alien father race as well as Weyland himself, the jerk. Both are also freudian, though I have to admit that Alien, with its face-raping spider and phallic-headed monster is LESS overt than Prometheus. Really, that squid-thing. The underside is Freud's dream. Prometheus has enough specific callbacks to Alien (even in the closing narration) that it can't be an accident (it isn't), but it really is its own film - one about ancient alien origins and the nature of belief.
As much as I consider Prometheus to be an interesting movie, it falters when compared to Alien. But is that a bad thing? If you watch them in "chronological" order, you are building up to Alien in its own way... maybe. Sorta.
So, the Xenomorphs are bioweapons created by proto-human engineers. People suspected this, but... that does kind of ruin the mystique. The idea of the Space Jockey ship as a "bomber" did long pre-exist Prometheus, however, as an unsaid part of Alien's background - so Ridley Scott didn't TOTALLY throw everything out from his old movie!
And that's Prometheus for you. Both a failure and a success in every way, but at least it's interesting to talk about!
With the camera on slow burst mode, the speed light with a small soft box to camera left on a TTL cord on about 1/64 power, and the reversed 50mm lens manually adjusted to f11 I managed to get this. I particularly like the distant trees and sky captured in the water droplet. The "alien"growth was lichen hanging from a tree limb.
As always, thoughtful feedback, constructive criticisms, and suggestions are always appreciated. As always, I have used tools at my disposal to interpret the original raw file. Use of this photo without permission is not permitted.

This gadget projects an image of a green alien onto the wall.
It uses a bright green LED which shines through a thin wooden screen.
The image of the alien ranges in size from about 5in to about 6 or 7ft depending on how far away from the wall you place the unit.
When I first started building her, I had the intention of making a fembot. At one stage in her evolution she had a smaller head with two binoculars for eyes. At another stage I tried giving her a mohawk, but it didn't work out.
I couldn't help it, I had to do another one... and a marathon effort it was too- taking a couple hours.
I don't know why this is funny but it sure makes me giggle, The cartoon Eyes just completely alter the mood of the image :-))... I just had the best fun putting it all together.
