For the Alien mech challenge.

It uses shields on it's arms to protect it from ranged attacks and to crush it's opponents.

Claws on the top of the arms crash into the cockpit of the enemy mech once the clubs move back.

Aliens in The Hague?

a styrofoam head made to look like an alien

In Star Trek, many aliens are what they call "forehead" aliens. They're basically humanoid, but with different makeup on their heads. Every so often you meet a "really" alien - something beyond our normal experience.

This was the first "really" alien I saw in No Man's Sky. It has no appendages, but a fully developed face. They move by hopping, and look really funny all hopping around in a big pack. They were also the first creatures I saw going into caves.

Alien She

Sep 3, 2015 – Jan 9, 2016

Alien She, curated by Astria Suparak + Ceci Moss, is the first exhibition to examine the lasting impact of Riot Grrrl on artists and cultural producers working today. A pioneering punk feminist movement that emerged in the early 1990s, Riot Grrrl has had a pivotal influence, inspiring many around the world to pursue socially and politically progressive careers as artists, activists, authors and educators. Emphasizing female and youth empowerment, collaborative organization, creative resistance and DIY ethics, Riot Grrrl helped a new generation to become active feminists and create their own culture and communities that reflect their values and experiences, in contrast to mainstream conventions and expectations.

Riot Grrrl formed in reaction to pervasive and violent sexism, racism and homophobia in the punk music scene and in the culture at large. Its participants adapted strategies from earlier queer and punk feminisms and ‘70s radical politics, while also popularizing discussions of identity politics occurring within academia, but in a language that spoke to a younger generation. This self-organized network made up of teenagers and twenty-somethings reached one another through various platforms, such as letters, zines, local meetings, regional conferences, homemade videos, and later, chat rooms, listservs and message boards. The movement eventually spread worldwide, with chapters opening in at least thirty-two states and twenty-six countries.* Its ethos and aesthetics have survived well past its initial period in the ‘90s, with many new chapters forming in recent years. Riot Grrrl’s influence on contemporary global culture is increasingly evident – from the Russian collective Pussy Riot’s protest against corrupt government-church relations to the popular teen website Rookie and the launch of Girls Rock Camps and Ladyfest music and art festivals around the world.

Alien She focuses on seven people whose visual art practices were informed by their contact with Riot Grrrl. Many of them work in multiple disciplines, such as sculpture, installation, video, documentary film, photography, drawing, printmaking, new media, social practice, curation, music, writing and performance – a reflection of the movement’s artistic diversity and mutability. Each artist is represented by several projects from the last 20 years, including new and rarely seen works, providing an insight into the development of their creative practices and individual trajectories.

Shots of my NECA Aliens figures. Used Nikon D7000, Nikkor 28-80 G series lens. Bluhancer filter.

I used some photoshop to adjust the contrast & brightness, & to change the look to a more blue-ish tone.

I also added a bit of grain for aesthetic purposes.

I love the otherworldly appearance of this insect (a Pelecinid Wasp) and I was able to capture it in such a way that lended itself to emphasizing that otherworldliness. So alien, and the "night" color palette helps convey that theme.

Roswell is a city in, and the county seat of, Chaves County in the southeastern quarter of the state of New Mexico, United States. In 2012, the population of Roswell was around 48,000 making it the 5th biggest city in New Mexico, the other 4 are Albuquerque, Las Cruces, Rio Rancho, and Santa Fe. It is a center for irrigation farming, dairying, ranching, manufacturing, distribution, and petroleum production. It is also the home of New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI), founded in 1891. Bitter Lake National Wildlife Refuge is located a few miles northeast of the city on the Pecos River. Bottomless Lakes State Park is located twelve miles east of Roswell on US 380.

Roswell is most popularly known for having its name attached to what is now called the 1947 Roswell UFO incident, even though the crash site of the alleged UFO was some 75 miles from Roswell and closer to Corona. The investigation and debris recovery was handled by the local Roswell Army Air Field.

I made these sweet treats as favors for a little boy's birthday

I still have no idea what kind of plant this is. Regardless, I wanted to get a few shots of it. By the way, to get this shot, I had to crawl down an embankment a bit, almost stand in a ditch, and then could I pluck the strange plant up to get the shots.

As a great Alien fan since I was a kid, I can tell that although I enjoyed Alien Covenant, it was a little disappointing in the sense that it felt like more of the same for the most part. However, I can't deny that it is always great to see the Xenomorphs on the big screen.

Also, this was a big deal to me because this was the very first Alien movie that I got to watch at the movie theater (I wasn't born yet for the first three alien movies, for the fourth one I wasn't able to watch it because of my age and I'm not counting the AvP movies that I did watch on the big screen. Also, I'm not counting Prometheus because is not really an Alien Movie).

Looks like I have a crew forming!.....ALIEN 1:18 scale. Just a test shot of the crew sculpts in progress. Getting close but have a handful of sculpts to go before the manifest is complete and the Nostromo can sail! smile emoticon #alien #nostromo #the8thpassenger #sith_fire30
