Lego Display I originally built for Brick Fiesta but designed it to be displayed at the Lego store. Here is the display at the local (Austin, TX) Lego Store. its what happens when a Redneck Trailer site gets attacked by Aliens! Someone is going to get Probed!
Hidegen (hi-de-gen) was a labor of love ... and hostility ... which for several months was unlikely to be completed. I initially had only the blue concrete mixer pieces, wanting to spin off of franzhe's Space Police Piecemaker design, and a big Gatling gun I built, which had no home except its temporary one under the wing of a Bounty Hunter Assault Gunship.
Because of the concrete mixer pieces' color, Hidegen (formerly named ARV for Assault & Rescue Vehicle) was bound to be part of the blue & yellow ADU theme.
Eventually I decided the ship would also have a rear deck, and hoped I could make the intakes-to-exhausts wrap upward around and over the crew area. Due to more than a few limitations, I had to use thin engine piping in this middle area, but a plus outcome here was that I could then route hoses to powering the lower vertical lift turbofans.
In the end things worked out well with few drawbacks. While hard to find a top hold, Hidegen is swooshable when held from the bottom. The cockpit and interior spaces turned out to be tiny as always, but a minifig pilot can be seated and slid forward. And lastly due to gravity, the front intakes bend downward, outward, and then inward. I'm not sure of franzhe's mounting secrets, but regardless my attachment points were limited by the need for the Gatling weapon to be housed and able to rotate up, out, & below ... a key goal was underside full gun rotation (not pictured).
Like other ADU vehicles, Hidegen burns a whole lot of jet fuel to make up for human technology shortcomings in keeping up with threatening UFOs.
On its name, I wanted to get away from its initial ARV acronym, so the notion of a UFO being assaulted with a huge gun and grappled at high altitude, followed by human victims being safely rescued after such a terrifying operation, led to Hell & Heaven thinking. I tried some Hell & Heaven Latin efforts, but all along the Chumbawamba song Heaven Hell was on my mind. This track was inspired by a Chumbawamba and Ex song named Hidegen. Hidegen simply means coldly in Hungarian.
The photos within photos here touch on the frustratingly slow progress in getting this model done. :-)

feels like ages since i did any hardcore Photoshop work so i finished this pic today,, was done with a base image of my eye then painted and layered with various brushes and clone tools.

This phenomenon was caused by rocket engine exhaust from a SpaceX Transporter-7 mission that launched on the Falcon 9 about three hours earlier in California. Water vapor in the exhaust from the second stage engine freezes and catches high-altitude sunlight, effectively glowing and creating this spiral-galaxy-looking display of light. The payload is 51 satellites, and on its initial polar orbit, it did a pass-by over Alaska, stunning many night-watchers, including myself.

Got back from Bali to find that an ALIEN had setup nest in my house.
One call to Jim's Colonial Marines and the infestation was removed.
Now I just have bloody acid holes in my polished floor boards!
Aliens in their equivalent of our medieval age.

to be very clear, i dont’ know what this is.
ok, i take that back. i do know what this is. it’s a big black floating metal box sitting in the middle of a forest. to be more specifically clear: i don’t know why it exists.
i has no windows, nor does it have any plumbing or electricity. which leads me to the only rational conclusion one can come to when confronted with a big black metal box in the middle of the woods. which is: it’s an alien observation pod. or condo.
but regardless of it’s intended or unintended utility i posit that it’s great architecture. i mean, if i were an architect (which, clearly, i’m not) i would look at this big black metal box in the woods and say to myself, ‘who, that’s cool’.
and i imagine many architects strive to make buildings and structures that are, simply, weird and cool. which seems like a noble and valid pursuit. i mean, of course architecture ideally would involve the creation of spaces that serve real world purposes and have nice quotidian functionality. but some architecture can also aspire to just be odd and interesting and cool. like this big black accidental box in the woods.
oh, i looked around for alien footprints but found none. but, of course, aliens are clever and would probably not leave obvious footprints. and/or they were hovering over the ground.&nb ssp;or both. i saw no hovering foot prints either. but to be honest, i don’t know what hovering foot prints would actually look like.

A well dressed alien tryin to commit suicide ...bytheway the alien dont kno how to swim..but he did get the certificate for learning swimming but he claims that he fogot "how to swim" ! And those two humans don't even bother to save him.lol
