I'm thinking this is one of those images where you either like one of the outstanding elements, or you don't. The element here in question is the bright light on the top left, which is actually (I think) a lighthouse of sorts, it lit up furiously for a short moment before never doing so again.

There were lights behind us in the distance (floodlights) to allow people to find their way in near pitch blackness. With a load of mixed lighting, and the deep colours of the night, some wild colors resulted from this exposure. I'm wishing I could improve the composition but it was a lot of guesswork in the dark while trying to avoid stray shadows from myself.

Alien: Isolation • Hattiwatti's Camera Tool

The first Alien movie may be the only movie I’ve seen in this long franchise, but it’s my favorite horror movie of all time. That being said, I was really excited to see that Alien: Covenant was returning to its roots as a horror movie first, rather than the sequel, Aliens. I also really enjoyed the Martian, so I seeing that Ridley Scott had returned to form, I checked out Alien: Covenant last night! So was Alien: Covenant as good as the first Alien that I love so much, or was it more like the rest of the franchise, which from what I’ve heard, are quite bad. Let’s check it out!!

Good: Now this movie was surprisingly intellectual. Now I heard that Prometheus explored some of these questions that the movie poses, but I haven’t seen Prometheus, so this movie really gave me the desire to watch it! I love learning about the origins of the Xenomorphs, it was so interesting! But with these great intellectual moments come some great suspense and scares. The xenomorphs in this movie were really awesome, the CGI really helped them be more active than when they are just a dude in a suit. Now let’s talk about the performances. Everyone in this movie was really good but the obvious stand out Michael Fassbender. You could really tell he was having a great time in his role and he really just chewed up his lines, making him both creepy and funny at times too.

Bad: Now I’m going to be honest, I should’ve seen Prometheus before seeing this movie. There was so much confusing stuff that I didn’t understand because they were all referencing Prometheus. I feel like I would enjoy this movie a lot more if I had seen Prometheus. My next complaint is that there were a lot of scenes in the movie where I felt like I’ve already seen them! Most of movie just felt like a rip off of Alien, like there were times where I called things would happen because I’ve seen Alien, and they would happen. I’m not talking about certain themes or motifs or anything, I’m talking about actual scenes. Because of that, most of this movie is very predictable, especially the ending, you can see it coming from a mile away. The last complaint I have is that the first act is a little slow until the alien shows up. I understand that Ridley Scott was trying to build up the characters in the first act, but I feel like they should’ve done some more interesting things.

Overall, this movie is the kind of movie that I’d only see once maybe, but it really inspired me to see Prometheus. It had some great suspense and scares, but with a rather messy and unoriginal basic plot. For these reasons, I’m giving Alien: Covenant a 7.5/10. I had a great time with this movie, but I don’t plan on seeing it again any time soon, instead, I want to go check out the other Alien movies! If you’ve seen Alien: Covenant, let me know what you thought about it in the comments below, and remember, no spoilers!

From my alien photoshoot i had with myself./playing around with photoshop.

It's been a while since I've put anything up here. It's not that I haven't been drawing, it's just that I never thought to put it up until now. So here's a digital landscape of some Q-tip alien ruins, with a couple of explorers on the approach. If only it were made of LEGO.

Twisting Light #3. The next experimental shot exploring the patterns formed by light passing through shaped and formed plastics. These are analog images taken direct onto 35mm film.

I'd be interested to see what they remind you of.

© David K. Edwards. It pulls your head forward and briskly sucks out your eyeballs (it does something additional and cute if you are wearing glasses). Then it eats your face, devouring almost all of the skin and muscle. When finished, it emits a series of high-pitched burps that are somehow even more terrifying than its strident hunting call. In the photograph, note also the green puercoceptor organ, which curls when inactive.

Shots of my NECA Aliens figures I took when that version of Vasquez was released.

Some Photoshop adjustments in brightness/contrast & color balance. Film grain was also added. Taken on my Nikon D7000.

Alien concept to fight my Space Marines. Thoughts?

I couldn't resist this guy.

For the space alien wackiness !

You squeeze his torso and a bubble pops out of the the top of his head . Then you turn him upside down. And it fills up with red goop.... He has sounds effects too. Some strange alien gibbering sounds ...

Not liking how he looks with the empty space above his head. But that is his gimmick. He is about 13 1/2 inches tall and big scaled. Doesn't fit with my other toys. But too weird to pass up :)

I'm digging this LEGO-Aliens set that they will probably never produce :)

The Chibi FBTB contest inspired me to try out some other ships in this format. Since Aliens is the best movie ever made, I decided to start there.

Unfortunately, I couldn't get the alien in the right pose I wanted, since the right leg is completely stuck, even though it is designed to be moved. One of the earlier aliens from NECA, & the marine is this Windrix figure.
