20th June 1979. The box is locked out at this time so the section was, as today, Kirkby Stephen - Garsdale. I poked the camera lens up against the wire mesh and took this shot through the window. Taken with a Yashica FX2 with a 50mm f1.9 DSB lens.

I have done this shot at Ais Gill before, but just could not resist getting the green "Murphy" van in the photograph. Northern liveried 158758 climbs towards Ais Gill summit with the 10.49 Carlisle - Leeds.
