Having got a cloudy shot of "British India Line" previously at the usual place at Ais Gill I decided to try something different from the side of the road .While waiting for the train there was no hope of any sun then about two minutes before 35018 arrived the clouds parted and bingo I had cracked it but not in the main position.Two photographers at the line side have been removed in PS.
44767 passes the summit board with a CME to Carlisle on 5/7/1984.The engine continued to Fort William,hence the blue Scottish Region numberplate

In pouring rain, LNER Gresley K4 2-6-0 No 61994 'The Great Marquess', approaches the summit at Ais Gill with the southbound 'Fellsman'.

Somehow we got sun here thanks to her running slightly early. Shame the 57 was working as much as it was but I suppose it's a fair train for her.
