After they cancelled the ride, they got busses to take us from the campground in Lompoc to that night's campground in Ventura. We stood in lots of lines throughout the week, but this one (2,150 people long) was by far the longest. You're looking at about 2-3 hours of wait time there.

The candle light vigil. The route was closed @ the 1st rest stop today due to weather and CHP closing the 101 freeway.
All those lights in the background are people with candles. Eventually, I let the sea put out mine before it was finished. To me it symbolized how many are taken from us before their time due to this disease.
The AIDS/LifeCycle Photostream capture these best.

In June 2010, for my 13th Year, I will participate in an event to benefit the S.F. AIDS Foundation called AIDS LifeCycle. Each year, I cycle 575 miles (from S.F to L.A, CA.). And, I complete the ride knowing I did the right thing.

I used to play roller derby with Dave Nelson's (R) ex-partner David Arimendez. Arimendez passed away from HIV in September 27, 2003. Nelson had a nice necklace with a photo of Arimendez when he toured Japan in 1994.
I am getting prepared to do something I have never done before. I will joining #Deloitte along with more than 3000 others in riding 545 miles from San Francisco to Los Angeles for the @aidslifecycle ride. A charity event to help raise awareness and funding for HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, and education.
I can't do this alone and I need your help to raise $3000 as my ticket to ride in the event.
