6:30am, - AND THE RIDE BEGINS:

As I darted out of the Cow Palace, amongst the flow of 2,000 fellow cyclist, I heard my name being called - "Tony Eason." And as I focused my eyes, I saw my yoga students of James Howell Studio. My yoga students had acted upon what I had told them - "I have never had anyone make a sign with my 'whole name' on it for the opening ceremonies of AIDSLifeCycle."

I even had time to check out the action under the bridge. This is the ONE Day Two Tradition that I did not partake in....but I thought about it!

Cave man rest stop

In the heart of Santa Barabara lies one of the best rest stops in all of the ride. The city puts on this wonderful little fair for the riders. Hi-lights included hand-churned blueberry, pumpkin and vegan ice cream, six massage tables fully staffed and open to any rider willing to wait in line, (which was of course very long and as a result prohibitive to the group of us who enjoyed being on the road perhaps as much as the propect of such a service) and a dj spinning much needed music for us to take with us in our heads as ipods and other musical devices were prohibited on the road.

Every time you state what you want or believe, you’re the first to hear it. It’s a message to both you and others about what you think is possible. Don’t put a ceiling on yourself.” - Oprah Winfrey -
