I snatched this photo from two close friends of mine who are so happy it makes those around them feel....well, happy.
African Lion (Panthera leo), five week old cub playing with adult male after being introduced to pride for the first time, Masai Mara Reserve, Kenya
These cats kept following me around the resort in Costa Rica. They were quite friendly even though I never fed them.
St Mary, Tasburgh, Norfolk
Tasburgh is a fairly busy village on the Ipswich to Norwich road, but this charming church is in the hills above, in a thoroughly rural setting.
I was fairly confident I'd never find a public display of affection for Scavenger Hunt 101, until I remember this statue at the Met. So when we walked past it today, I sneaked away from Pookie and Elizabeth to get a few pictures of it, and then later drop the "I got public display of affection!" bomb on them. Suckers. (Also, this could probably qualify as a cliche. Heh.)

I have a deep affection for the Redwood forests of Northern California. This is my best attempt to capture the reverence I feel when in the presence of these giants. twitter.com/JesseRosten

Day 2 of Project 365. Tried something new with a gift given by my dear friends. Lighting using mobile phone torch!
8/19/2010 -- I came home to a family of deer resting on the lawn between our home and our neighbors home. They seemed to be escaping the heat in the shade of larger trees, and eating the Hosta blooms. Lovely.

Canon EOS 300 and 28-80 3.5-5.6 EF zoom.
This was an Fuji Frontier scanner by the way. Not my "crappy" no-holder Epson 4870. And the grain is apparently this out of date negative that lost some of his ISO sensitivity while being exposed at a box EI of 200, or the film's enhanced grain because it was expired.
Another of the Walk of Stars on Broad Street, this time of the soul singer songwriter Joan Armatrading, whose song "Love and Affection" is an all time classic.

The monument to Dame Maria Baynton 1623-1667
Created by Caius Gabriel cibber
All three figures are lifesize. The central figure is Dame Maria whilst either side of her are her aons, Nicholas and Robert.
Although this would have been created during the restoration period, there dress is deeply puritan whilst dame Marias headress was the height of fashion during the Cromwellian years.
Sacred to the memory of an illustrious woman (whose remains lei here) Lady Maria, relict of Sir Edward Baynton lately of Bromham in the county of Wiltshire. She was a lady of the olden style of unblemished life, adorned with piety, beauty and with every maternal grace and female excellence. In her mode of life (though alas her stay was too brief, and by no means free from trouble) she was frank, religious, trusty, modest, chaste, eminent for hospitalities and affections and enobled by well nigh every virtue. All men, and especially the poor, were the objects of her regard. her removal from this life occasioned great grief and sadness to allcof either sex to whome she was known either by report or by sight. She changed this for a happier scene, and sweetly fell asleep in Jesus in the forty second year of her age in the year 1667.
"The earth holds her dust, her spirit has passed to heaven"
Her sons Robert and Nicholas have here sorrowfully placed this monument.
I couldn't help but think about my Flickr friend emdot's affection for arches and shadow as I took this photo.
