8/19/2010 -- I came home to a family of deer resting on the lawn between our home and our neighbors home. They seemed to be escaping the heat in the shade of larger trees, and eating the Hosta blooms. Lovely.

From Erins 2nd birthday party, the fella is her mums boyfriend. Been a bit busy this week so sorry for the lack of comments, hope to catch up on Sunday.
“It was a lesson most people learned much earlier; that even friendship could have an undisclosed shelf life. That loyalty and affection, so consuming and powerful, could dissipate like fog.”
I really like this shot. The wolf was standing near the entrance and Tim was giving him some scritches. He was happy. He stood there for a few minutes just panting away. What's funny is that sometimes, if you stop scritching them, they'll paw at you to keep going. They love getting the affection. I really like this shot because it's a beautiful close up of the face and he's clearly enjoying our company.

Physical contact is so important in establishing and strengthening bonds between mother and cubs, and between sibling cubs.
Such a beautiful thing to witness. A real joy!
