A cloud-covered Mayon Volcano and Cagsawa ruins with the façade still standing. The church was largely destroyed during the 1814 eruption of Mayon. Only the bell tower exists today.
Mayon is the most active volcano in the Philippines, erupting over 47 times in the past 500 years.[9] The first eruption for which an extended account exists was the six-day event of July 20, 1766.
The most destructive eruption of Mayon occurred on February 1, 1814 (VEI=4).[11] Lava flowed but less than the 1766 eruption. The volcano belched dark ash and eventually bombarded the town of Cagsawa with tephra that buried it. Trees burned, and rivers were certainly damaged. Proximate areas were also devastated by the eruption, with ash accumulating to 9 m (30 ft) in depth. In Cagsawa, 1,200 locals perished in what is considered to be the most lethal eruption in Mayon's history according to PHIVOLCS. The eruption is believed to have contributed to the accumulation of atmospheric ash together with the catastrophic 1815 eruption of other volcanoes like Indonesia's Mount Tambora, leading to the Year Without a Summer in 1816. Mount Etna, Catania, Sicily - so glad we can still goes hiking at Mount Etna, to see the glorious active volcanos
You can hear but rarely see into the depths of the huge crater of Bromo volcano (East Java) because of a lot of sulphuric steam. Here's a wonderful moment, in which Bromo revealed its secrets. :-)
Ruapehu from the Taranaki Falls track, Tongariro National Park. At this point we are already on the mountain at approximately 1250 metres.
It seems I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to altitude. At this level (and we stayed here five nights) my nose bled. Up at around 2200 metres (above the snowline) breathing was a little difficult. So I probably won't grow up to be a mountain climber ;-)
The weather turned rather foul as we climbed up to the Summit of Stromboli. Strong wind and rain, so it wasn't practical to hang around for to long.
from 30,000ft, looks tropical!

Okama means an iron pod, it's called such name for the form.
The living thing cannot live because of strong acid water.
蔵王を代表する景色はこのお釜ですね。
