Looking down inside of a volcano at a lake of lava within. Slowly churning, random explosions of lava, and heat on your face that felt like you were taking a pizza out of the oven. Easily the craziest shit I’ve ever witnessed in my life.

This photo was taken at Marunuma Lake, which is located in Katashina Village, Gumma Prefecture, very near the borderline with Oku-Nikko, Tochigi Prefecture. The lake, at the altitude of 1430 meters, is so-called dammed lake, which was formed by the volcanic eruption of Mt Nikko-Shirane, 2578 meters high and an active volcano. The lake is a part of Nikko National Park.

Oregon is the state where we spend most of our time outside of California. So far, we have made about four trips to this stunningly beautiful state, two dedicated trips, and two times as part of other longer trips. During our second dedicated trip to Oregon, we finally managed to visit some of the state's lesser-known attractions. I heard about the hike up to the top of Tom Dick and Harry mountain during a casual conversation, and one google search about the location was enough to warrant a spot in our itinerary.
The hike up the mountain was brutal. In our haste to make it to the top by sunset, we forgot our mosquito spray and almost got eaten alive on our way to the top. I initially thought of just making it to mirror lake and taking a refection shot. But I was not too fond of the composition from Mirror lake due to the lake's relative position. I could barely see the top of the mountain over the treeline. So we decided to push on to the top and made it with minutes to spare.
As a viewpoint, this was one of the best spots to see Mt Hood and other distant peaks in the cascade range. We were there on a clear day and could see all the five mountains visible from this location. From a photography perspective, the main subject visible is Mt Hood, with the Mirror Lake in the foreground. The reason for me to hike to this location was the quality of light at sunset and sunrise. It's sublime, and I was glad I was there on that day to capture it.

There is fire raging in the belly of the dragon.
They don’t call Iceland the land of fire and ice for nothing. For every serene glacier and calming winter scene, there is a mighty volcano on the edge of eruption.
Frankly speaking, this is my first time see the blue fire of Ijen in front of my eyes. Well, you need to shoot using camera to see the exact color of the fire. Yup, its blue, using auto white balance you can straight see the color of the fire.
This shot I'm using the Sony A7R2 (from Sony Malaysia) paired with Sony Vario-Tessar T* FE 16-35mm f/4 ZA OSS Lens (SEL1635Z). This camera is quite a monster for low light, the SOOC was quite nice. Minor processing with ADOBE Photoshop 2015 CC.
Hope you guys like it.
Mount St. Helens is an active stratovolcano located in Washington State..Mount St. Helens is most famous for its catastrophic eruption on May 18, 1980, at 8:32am PDT which was the deadliest and most economically destructive volcanic event in the history of the United States. Fifty-seven people were killed; 250 homes, 47 bridges, 15 miles (24 km) of railways, and 185 miles (298 km) of highway were destroyed.
As with most other volcanoes in the Cascade Range, Mount St. Helens is a large eruptive cone consisting of lava rock interlayered with ash, pumice, and other deposits. The Crater Glacier (also known as Tulutson Glacier) is a geologically young glacier.Prior to the 1980 eruption, Mount St. Helens was the fifth-highest peak in Washington. It stood out prominently from surrounding hills because of the symmetry and extens"Fuji-san of America" ("Mount Fuji of America").
The peak rose more than 5,000 feet (1,500 m) above its base, where the lower flanks merge with adjacent ridges. The mountain is 6 miles (9.7 km) across at its base, which is at an altitude of 4,400 feet (1,300 m) on the northeastern side and 4,000 feet (1,200 m) elsewhere. At the pre-eruption tree line, the width of the cone was 4 miles (6.4 km) - Courtesy Wiki

Mount ASO is an active volcano in the center of Kyushu. Its ancient caldera ranks among the world's largest, with a diameter of up to 25 kilometers and a circumference of over 100 kilometers. During times of heightened volcanic activity, the crater can be off-limits, the ropeway not operating, and the road and walking trail to the crater closed.

For Miss Philippines Catriona Gray who was crowned Miss Universe 2018. It is the fourth time a Miss Philippines has won the competition. Her runway "lava walk" impressed everyone. Her Filipina mother is from Albay, Bicol home to the famous Mount Mayon. www.eonline.com/news/997150/5-things-to-know-about-miss-u...
Mayon is the most active volcano in the Philippines, erupting over 47 times in the past 500 years.[9] The first eruption for which an extended account exists was the six-day event of July 20, 1766.
The most destructive eruption of Mayon occurred on February 1, 1814 (VEI=4).[11] Lava flowed but less than the 1766 eruption. The volcano belched dark ash and eventually bombarded the town of Cagsawa with tephra that buried it. Trees burned, and rivers were certainly damaged. Proximate areas were also devastated by the eruption, with ash accumulating to 9 m (30 ft) in depth. In Cagsawa, 1,200 locals perished in what is considered to be the most lethal eruption in Mayon's history according to PHIVOLCS. The eruption is believed to have contributed to the accumulation of atmospheric ash together with the catastrophic 1815 eruption of other volcanoes like Indonesia's Mount Tambora, leading to the Year Without a Summer in 1816.
