Modern Mandala - This Modern Mandala reflects the poetic imperfections of reality forced into rhythmic visual meditation of the divine simplicity of life.
Lightgrams are an example of slow speed photography in which the shutter is kept open for a long time in a dark room to capture dim lights. These were created by hanging an LED from a thread from the ceiling to a height of about 4 ft from floor, while keeping the camera facing upwards on the floor underneath the LED. The LED is swung in erratic paths, and thanks to gravity and simple harmonic motion, these patterns are created. The different colors were caught by placing a colored transparent sheet over the lens, and changing colors intermittently.

A newly-delivered rope awaits its first job on a ship berthed in the Danish port of Esbjerg. Note the different shades of blue which add to the appeal of the abstract pattern the rope forms.
(Shame that it was too late to avoid the dark shadows. Also, I should have used a polarizer.)
I tried making a version of this wallpaper using lighter colours but I couldn’t make up my mind about which colour would go best. So I decided to go with the dark colour version of it (as usual…). For some reason I just love dark wallpapers.

I call this Black and White because after editing this photo of a crate, I hit the black and white button on iPhoto, just to see the result, and the result was unique, so I kept it.
I believe that whatever you choose to do needs to come from the heart. So in that regard, here is another one of my dark wallpaper designs! There is no point in me trying to do a wallpaper using lighter colours as it would not be from the heart. I love dark wallpapers at the moment and that’s what I’m going to design!
