Mevagissey is very much a traditional Cornish fishing village, the largest in Mevagissey Bay. The name comes from the Cornish language for "Meva hag Issey", which means "Meva and Issey". Meva and Issey were two 6th century Irish missionaries who came to convert the area to Christianity.
The magic of the village lies in the labyrinth of tiny streets that twist and turn past ancient dwarf buildings of cob and slate, but the twin harbours are its nerve centre. They provide a place to watch the fisherman land their catch and mend their nets as they have since John Trewollas built the first pier in 1430.
Today the village is a popular tourist destination, but it is still very much a working port, with fishing gear lining the quayside, the colours of which are reflected in the calm waters of the harbour.

this image captures the moment when color, form, and light merge, as if the red ceramic vases have just dipped into a bath of liquid hues. the gloss on their surfaces reflects the light in a soft, harmonious dance, while the blurred backgrounds emphasize depth and abstraction. it's a play between reality and illusion, where the eye doesn't settle on solid objects but instead explores colors and shapes that flow and reflect, almost like a dream. the rounded forms and warm tones create a quiet power, making the image both touching and abstract at once.
A black cat and a small bird face each other atop a wooden fence against a vibrant, geometric background with a sunlit sky. Bright flowers and lush grass adorn the bottom, adding colour and life to the scene.

l was sat in the car whilst the missus went into the garden centre, and it came on to rain. Playing with the new phone's camera , this came out better than l had hoped. A sort of oil painting effect , with abstract patterns.

Have a black and white version I like a lot as well and was torn between which one to post.
Mate said I should post this one as it was more interesting in color, more representative of the actual event.
Maybe I will post the B&W in the future.

beneath the surface, where the motorway thunders unseen above, the tunnel near the bendinat / illetas exit close to palma de mallorca unravels as a corridor of contrast. here, light cascades down the curvature of the tunnel walls, painting abstract patterns of illumination and shadow. each light, a punctuated star against the darkness, guides the wayward to their destination. the distant headlights, a beacon promising the end of this shaded passage, remind us that every journey, no matter how shadowed, bends faithfully toward the light.
Quartz veins, New Zealand, near the Mueller Hut. Many time scales visible. The intricate set of veins presumably arose in many successive events over millions of years. The lichens may have grown in the time frame of 100-500 years. The iron oxide stains, who knows!

Geometric shapes, including circles and rectangles, complement autumn-coloured leaves and intricate patterns. Warm hues of orange and yellow dominate the overall composition, creating a vibrant and visually engaging piece.

Looks like some weird type of cutting machine with dozens of small blades, to me.
beneath the warm afternoon sun, a story unfolded on the wall. the chair stood still, yet its shadow danced—a perfect duet of structure and light. the air felt heavy with silence, yet alive with meaning, as if the shadows spoke of fleeting moments, unnoticed but profound. simplicity became the stage, and light, the performer.
- From an afternoon walk in the woods.
When the sun set and as the last sunrays slid low across the forestgrass

View of a wooded area captured using a IRChrome filter and a converted IR camera. Side note: this filter was designed to recreate the striking look of Kodak Aerochrome infrared film, which produced false-color images mostly used in aerial photography to depict healthy vegetation in shades of red, In general terms, It was first developed to distinguish between military camouflage and vegetation, It was later used in agriculture and forestry to distinguish areas of healthy vegetation from areas of diseased or stressed plant life.
