just a snapshot :-)

the water in near view is on a rice field.

i have occasionally lost the way to my home from the Biwa-ko lake, and find this view.

it is good to lose the way sometimes ;-)

a partial view of the magnificent fortified Berber village known as the Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, situated along the old caravan route between the Sahara desert and Marrakech. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with four families still living in it. The others have moved to the new town just across the river from it. Seen in many movies such as Gladiator, Prince of Persia, The Mummy, one of the 007 films and the tv drama Game of Thrones.

A view from Mam Ratagan in Glenelg in the Scottish Highlands. Below is Loch Duich.

A common garden bird throughout much of Asia, found in open forests, fields, and parks; introduced to several regions around the world. Often tame and approachable. Brown overall with a rosy breast and a unique white-spotted black nape patch. Plumage shows slight regional variation: western birds have dark centers to wing feathers, lacking in eastern birds. Turtle-doves are larger, have black centers to wing feathers and stripes rather than spots on the neck. Coos loudly and often: “coo-a-roooo”. (eBird)

A familiar bird to us but welcome nevertheless. We saw or heard this pretty dove most days during our time in Singapore, usually deep in the trees or on the ground.

Birding Singapore.

Not a big fan of these Canadian Geese but they do look good in the air. A panning shot but with a fast shutter and a 9.5 aperture.

A nice behavioral image of this barred owl mantling its prey!

in a previous life, i would say "computers are the enemy!" but in this life, i know i would jinx myself...after three major computer breakdowns, i am just grateful that one is working. so i can say hello, flickr -land! and how is your day going?

A good traveller has no fixed plans and is not intent on arriving ~ Lao Tzu

A quick recce to Westquarter Glen and despite the recent dry spell, the surroundings were lush and there was enough water in the burn to create a lovely scene. Bookmarking this location for a return visit in the Autumn and Winter.

when a train departs the Hawkers, shopkeepers or other people in the compartment gets a little bit happy time to rest.

Some people pass the time gossiping with others and some people love to lost themselves in the world of dream.

Time is very short. They have to wake up, they have to be busy. Because another Train is coming and another is departing.

My song for you :

Al di Meola : First Snow from the Lp's Winter Nights

A perfect morning to be out in a balloon or with a camera :)

A l'arrière-plan, le beffroi de l'hôtel de ville : une tour de 70 mètres de haut et de 4000 tonnes. Un carillon de 47 cloches. Le plus récent des beffrois wallons.

In the background, the belfry of the town hall: a tower 70 meters high and weighing 4000 tonnes. A carillon of 47 bells. The most recent of the Walloon belfries.

A simple connection of string to an old earphone cable.

This is a 40-year-old noisemaker used to drown out the sound of the name Haman whenever it is said during the yearly reading of the Book of Esther on Purim.

It is a maker of clicking noise sounds. It is great fun to shake it at each utterance.

I remember buying it in Brookline, Massachusetts. That was a long time ago. I see it could use a paint touchup...;-) I did eliminate a number of smudges and this is what remains.

I had to crop it to meet Macro Mondays 3-inch limit...;-)

This week's theme is Sound.

À marée basse...

La mer s’évanouit

Je la suis pas à pas

Comme si je marchais

Sur un palais de glace

Et l’écume s’enfouit

Là où l’on ne voit pas

L’amour qui désormais

A sa fugue s’enlace

Où vont mourir les eaux

Lorsqu’elles se retirent

Laissant sur les galets

L’humide sentiment

Des plaintes des oiseaux

Aux âmes qui soupirent

De n’y voir les reflets

D’un flux d’apaisement ?

La mer s’évanouit

Je la suis bord à bords

Comme si s’envolait

Son verre à la surface

Et l’écume s’enfouit

De tribord à remords

Tel un zeste de lait

Que le grand large efface

Où vont souffrir les flots ?

Que voient-ils du lointain ?

Savent-ils que ma larme

Contient le même sel

Que leurs maigres sanglots

Délavés sous le tain

D’une aurore sans charme

Quand meurt leur carrousel ?

The 'Guardians' of the Camargue look after these beautiful white Horses from this region in Southern France

They care for these horses as a way of life - stunning to see

A look back over the treed plains from along US 287 in Lafayette, CO toward Green Mountain and the line of foothills that form the western edge of the Boulder Valley. This image seemed the perfect candidate for vintage processing--reminding me of the quieter times portrayed in many a picture of the Boulder Valley from archival records. Ironically, a sprawling Walmart Superstore is just out of sight to the left of where this picture was taken.

Check out this nicely done drone video portrait, called Above Boulder, by Kjell Redal, for a look at life in modern day Boulder Valley. Just came across it this morning:

Even though I'm not "caught up" here on Flickr, due to extreme busyness leading up to being out of town till the beginning of October, I thought I'd post this picture from a recent bike ride before my departure. I will be offline with Flickr for several weeks, beginning this weekend. Enjoy the rest of your summer and happy shooting everyone!

Best viewed large!

Thank you everyone for your visits, faves and kind comments! I really appreciate them. Be well all!

Have a wonderful Easter Sunday!

A long exposure shot from a high angle during a fine evening in the less polluted atmosphere when almost all humans were inside their homes.

A chi ha un amico vicino,e a chi ce l'ha lontano,

A chi è partito ieri,e a chi domani tornerà ,

e a chi ogni giorno cerca la pace.

A rare Red Rainbow at sunrise this morning close to the Ratcliffe Power station...whilst I was photographing the sunrise behind the power station, this beauty was happening behind me....so glad I spotted it before it disappeared.
