A Glossy Ibis stretching her mouth while perched on top a large Juniper bush. What a fun day we had at the OCNJ Rookery on Sunday. The Herons, Egrets, and other Waders were in abundance and eager to be photographed. Please view large for best Glossy Ibis experience. :)
Monday and back to work! Thank you for stopping by and enjoy the day~!
A macro shot; I don't know what kind of tree this came from, but with a little imagination; it might look like some sort of nature "hit squad", flying high; off on a mission! :)
Sankt Englmar (English: Saint Englmar) is a municipality in the district of Straubing-Bogen. The name of the place comes from a hermit named Engelmarus, who was born in 1060 in Lüftlhof, Passau. after he was taught by a bishop, he decided to make a colony near the river in Donau. Engelmarus was a popular guy and was thought to be an animal healer. He was killed in the winter of 1100, when some of his "followers" beat him to death, probably because of jealousy. His body was found during Pentecost by a priest named Ruodbertus, who brought his body to the valley, where he was buried. In the year 1131, they built a church over his burial spot. Later the place was colonized and the place was dubbed "Sankt Englmar". This is one of our favorite places in autumn and winter, because, do to its elevation, it often sunny, whereas the Danube valley is full of fog, as you can see in some of my prior images shown in my Photostream.
A beautiful old tree along the road in western Montana. I like the color version of this as well, but there's something about this monochrome that I prefer.
A little bit of orton. Loved the light on this trip and the country is just losing its very green look and getting a bit of that dry and dusty African look.
Sorry for yet another shot of a New Holland Honeyeater, but it was looking great as it jumped from branch to branch, always keeping itself in the warmth of the sun. I was trying to stay in the sun myself, but was rugged up in jumpers, jackets, beanie, scarf and gloves trying to keep warm!
Ultimately, this was simply a test shot after I spent a lot of this morning trying to clean my new teleconverter. I never considered that it would be so prone to dust and fluff from the one simple lens swap I did while I was away. Even one attempt with a brand new lens pen left swirls all over the rear element of the lens. I finally think I got it clean though and the bright clear sky helped to show that I had finally succeeded. I ended up using a combination of my old lens pen and a soft glasses cleaning cloth.
Keen to hear what any others might use for their lens cleaning?
“The moon is a loyal companion. It never leaves. It’s always there, watching, steadfast, knowing us in our light and dark moments, changing forever just as we do. Every day it’s a different version of itself. Sometimes weak and wan, sometimes strong and full of light. The moon understands what it means to be human.
Uncertain. Alone. Cratered by imperfections.”
Tahereh Mafi (American author, *1988)
Thanks for the texture goes to InSightDesigns. The birds have flown in from IremAkbas. The moon brush is by Hawksmont.

A huge ego is your worst enemy. An inflated ego can lead you astray and ruin your life. It can destroy your relationships, prevent you from recognizing opportunities, and inhibit true success. Granted, we all need self-esteem and confidence to win in this world. But when confidence becomes arrogance, you risk ruining everything you’ve worked hard to build.

My friends,
I created my little (really small) business last Wednesday. In fact, I am the boss and employee. :)
I must say I do not know if I will succeed to earn some money, but one thing is certain, in a week (or two) my website will be there. It is already online but empty now...
I'm scared, really do not know how things will happen...
Have a lovely new weekend...

Took a trip out to Prospect last night. The aim of the mission was to practice my low light, long exposure photography. So here's the thing...It was very cold, my night shots were terrible, my low light shots were okay....BUT what I just couldn't get to grips with was the fact this...ONE of the TWO fishing shacks I love the most in the Province has been re-shingled and NOT been re-painted RED. I am beyond upset about this! This cove was SO picture perfect before. Please if the owners are reading this...You have done a lovely job with the shingles, but please for the love of art, paint it red again.

A normal nightly walk in the park. Good music coming threw my earbuds. Enjoying the simple peace at Sunset. The Sun got lower and lower on the horizon. At the same time the colors we witnessed we’re getting brighter and brighter. Sunsets deliver more than color to me. It’s miraculous to me that between great music and the wonderful colors provided by the Creator during a sunset that a day of physical pain and a somewhat questionable mood can be turned around. Worrying never changes anything. I say, take in the riches of a great Sunset and wonderful music and let life’s troubles dissipate while you enjoy “A Spring Sunset”

A gift that I received from my late grandfather. Owning 4 birds I find it funny that of all animals he gave me this ceramic bird with a knot around his neck.
I have him above my desk watching me every day and remember the good times I had with my grandfather,
My contribution to the them "knot" in Photo Sunday.
