The Chevrolet Series AD Universal or Chevrolet Universal AD is a Chevrolet car which was launched in 1930. Available in a variety of body types including as a 2-door coupe, 4-door sedan and a delivery van.

The Series AD was launched as replacement for the 1929 Series AC models. Sales dropped by over 200,000 to 640,980 vehicles for the year.

The AD retained the new "stovebolt" 194 cubic inches (3.2 L) six-cylinder engine from the Series AC, but with bigger intake valves and smaller exhaust valves, along with a new manifold, raised power from 46 hp (34 kW) to 50 hp (37 kW). The suspension now included hydraulic shock absorbers and the fuel gauge was moved from the tank to the dash panel.

A 2-second exposure of the Pier 39 carousel in action. The shot came out horribly overexposed and took a lot of fiddling to bring out a halfway decent image.

Celebrating its 30th anniversary and back after a 2 year break due to pandemic, the Brighton Pride parade was as colourful and lively as ever.

This Spring, I embarked on a 2.5-week mission to burn my face off and annihilate all my senses. In other words, I had been tapped by my amazing editor at Chatelaine to find the country's top hot sauces, championing small, artisan producers doing amazing jobs in the hot sauce arena.

Little did I know of the community I would encounter, the incredible talents and passionate cooks, hot sauce creators, and fellow chilli lovers.

With the wise advice polled from many pepperheads on the Canadian Hot Sauce & Chilli Pepper Community Facebook group, I was pointed in the direction of nearly a hundred products (including notable producers in the niche community), in addition to the quality products I knew, plus other who reached out after. I tried over 120(!) sauces in total that ranged mainly from hot/super hot to hellfire is tame compared to this gut-twisting heat sauces, with most being actually very delicious.

It was so hard to narrow things down to 10, so I went with 15 producers (even though I had almost 40 bottles that I loved - with multiple favourites by any given producer). At the end of the day, I had to hone in on featuring one per, and the result, not ranked (those numbers are just to mark which description matches which bottle) can be found on pages 14-15 July/August 2022 issue of Chatelaine magazine.

This steam engine began life based on my design of the Frisco 1522, a 4-8-2 Mountain type, which I had built into a 2-8-4 Berkshire for my Polar Express. I then saw a far superior model by Lemon_Boy over on Rebrickable, as seen here in December of 2020: rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-60403/Plastic_Goth/2-8-4-berkshi...

It was then purchased, and I added my own wheelbase to it from the pervious Frisco 1522-derived version as I try not to use those small friction wheels (as used by Lemon_Boy in his version) for the front pony truck, as it squeals too much. Then, I took the open bottom cab and added mine back in, albeit in 7 wide. I redid the tender to be seven wide as well, while shortening my passenger coaches by four studs. (I will put them on a 24 stud train-plate instead of 28 for each car.) this will give me nearly enough parts to add a firth car as a third identical coach.

1. Entomologia generale che tratta la Morfologia, l'Anatomia, la Biologia, ivi compreso lo studio dei costumi (Etologia) e quello delle relazioni tra Insetti ed ambiente (Ecologia), degli Insetti nel loro insieme;

Orchard Road is a 2.2 kilometre-long street that is the retail and entertainment hub of Singapore. It is a major tourist attraction, in addition to being the most popular shopping enclave in the city-state. Often, the surrounding area is known simply as Orchard, partly owing to the fact that the MRT Station that serves the vicinity is named Orchard.

The Orchard Planning Area is one of 55 urban planning areas as specified by the Urban Redevelopment Authority, and is a commercial district. It is part of the Central Region, and Singapore's central business district, the Central Area.

Orchard Road underwent a $40 million revamp in 2009, with the addition of new street lamps, planter boxes, urban green rooms, street tiling and flower totem poles, which have since been removed .

Built on a 2.47 acres site at the Likas bay, the Kota Kinabalu City Mosque is exemplary of the Islamic contemporary architecture. Situated near the sea, this majestic white mosque boasts similar features to the Nabawi Mosque in Medina. This floating mosque has a prayer hall which houses three madrasahs and accommodates from 9, 000 to 12, 000 people at a time.

Major decisions by Travis Berridge and Luke Wilson powered the Gold team to a 14-6 victory over the Green squad in Cal Poly wrestling's annual intrasquad meet on a warm and sunny Friday afternoon in the University Union plaza.

Berridge scored a 15-4 major decision over Ryan Anderson at 174 pounds, notching five takedowns, a two-point near fall and a reversal along with riding time.

Wilson wrestling in his first match as a Mustang after battling injuries for three years, earned a 13-5 major decision against Joe Granger at 165 pounds. Wilson, a Righetti High School graduate, recorded four takedowns, a reversal and an escape plus riding time for the win.

Wilson's final takedown with seven seconds left sealed the victory.

Also winning for the Gold team were Ty Schilling at 133 pounds and Glenn Farina at 141.

Trailing 2-0 after two periods, Schilling earned an escape and two takedowns for a 5-3 win over Yoshito Funakoshi while Farina scored two first-period takedowns on his way to an 8-5 triumph over Curtis Booth.

Victories for the Green squad were posted by Joshy Cortez at 149 pounds and Thomas Lane at 184.

Cortez notched an escape to start the second period and rode out Jason DeLaCruz in the final period for riding time and a 2-0 victory while Lane tallied an escape and penalty point in the first period, a takedown in the second period and a pair of escapes in the final period for a 6-5 win over Sohrab Movahedi.

"We thought the guys competed hard today," first-year Mustang head coach Jon Sioredas said of his coaching staff. "It was a great outdoor setup with great weather."

9351 was converted on the West Somerset Railway from a 2-6-2 tank engine to a 2-6-0 tender engine and renumbered from 5193 at the same time.

The 5101 tank engines (of which 9351 originates) were designed by Charles Collett and introduced from 1929. They were an updated version of the Churchward 31xx (later 51xx) class, the first of which was built in 1903. There were a few differences between the design of the 5101 class and their 31xx/51xx predecessors. Externally they had curved drop ends, a flanged motion plate and outside steam pipes, while the cab roof was lowered and the bunker enlarged – holding 4 tons more coal. The water capacity of the locomotives remained the same (2,000 gallons) as its predecessors. The 5101 class were fitted with superheated Swindon type 2 boilers, and were placed in power class ‘D’. The heavy maximum axle weight (17 tons, 12 cwt) limited the locomotives to main lines and some heavier branch lines, as a result the class were given Blue Route Classification. The efficient use of power and rapid acceleration with heavy loads made the Large Prairies ideal for suburban and stopping mainline passenger services, such as those out of Paddington and in and around Birmingham. Later with the emergence of new DMUs the majority of the class were moved onto piloting and banking heavy goods and mainline passenger trains up steep gradients, such as through the Severn Tunnel or the Devon banks.

5193 was built in October 1934 at Swindon Works. It was initially allocated to Stourbridge Junction shed where it was used on suburban passenger trains to Birmingham Snow Hill and Wolverhampton Low Level. It stayed here for 18 years with the exception of a brief spell at Oxley shed, Wolverhampton, between July and September 1939. At nationalisation when 5193 transferred from Great Western Railway to British Railway ownership it was still allocated to Stourbridge Junction. However, from November 1952, it was transferred down to Cornwall and Truro (where it probably worked the Falmouth branch among other duties) before being moved to St Blazey in August 1953. St Blazey was the shed that provided motive power for Cornish china clay branches and it’s possible 5193 may have worked over the now preserved Bodmin and Wenford Railway. It moved to Laira in November 1954 before ping-ponging between St Blazey and Laira, going back to the former in February 1958 and staying until 5th November 1960 when it returned to the latter. Though there was a month-long allocation to Taunton shed in October 1960 in the middle. It stayed at Laira for roughly a month before transferring to Wales and Neyland shed in early December 1960. It’s unclear whether Neyland was its final shed or not. 5193 was recorded as withdrawn at Severn Tunnel Junction from the end of June 1962. It’s possible 5193 was just visiting on a duty from Neyland and happened to fail there and be deemed beyond repair – and therefore never allocated to Tunnel Junction. Alternatively, there’s a suggestion 5193 might have been transferred to Severn Tunnel Junction at the very start of June 1962 and was just withdrawn very early into its stay. Either way, 5193’s service life of 27 Years, 8 months, and 1 day came to an end with withdrawal on 30th June 1962.

5193 was sold to Woodham Brother’s Scrapyard, Barry, where it remained until May 1979 when it was purchased privately. The WSR plc purchased the loco in unrestored condition in 1999 and it arrived on the Railway in 1st December that year. At the WSR plc AGM in June 2000, it was announced that it had been decided to convert 5193 into a 2-6-0 mogul tender loco – 9351 – this was designed to resemble a small boilered version of the GWR 4300 Class – this was something it was suggested may have been built by the GWR. So, it’s probably most apt to suggest 9351 (as 5193 is now known) is a ‘GWR inspired, WSR realised design’. This conversion, not without debate across the heritage community, was completed in 2004. Despite the historical apprehensions of some 9351 proved an admirable performer during its first period in traffic on the WSR. 9351 operated as a WSR ambassador on a gala trip to the SVR, in Autumn 2005. It provided 10 years’ service before being withdrawn for overhaul in 2013.
