Yesterdays juvenile Bald Eagle along the Kentucky bank of the Ohio River.
Based on its flecking, I would guess it to be a 2–3-year-old as the beak and eyes are in that awkward transition to yellow.
... tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift of God,
which is why we call it the present.

Digging through the stores of images past I wanted to continue to post happy, hopefull pictures of what we should be shooting now. This is yet anther image from the Wood Shoe Tulip fields near Woodburn Oregon. The windmill is a staple for them. They move it around as they rotae the fields. This year would have been an extra treat. We drove by there during the Covid shutdown. Even though the event is shut down you can still drive by the fields to see them. Even in a closed car it was good to see the colors. I did not shoot anything, they don't let you out of the cars. The real treat this year was that the edge of the fields now have a big red barn! So now the moving windmill can line up with Hood OR this new red barn. Very cool! Its even possible to get the barn, a hot air balloon and Hood in the same image someday, when they use the right fields. Exciting.
So for now, here is an older image that has been longing to see the light of day. Enjoy!
The Sunday Glove daylilies were split last year and not supposed to bloom this season, so my gardener said. But to my great surprise, not only did they bloom, they all gave me more flowers than they ever have before. Maybe the high heat and heavy downpours helped, or maybe it is true that if you love your garden, it loves you back.
Early yesterday morning this swan decided to take a bath. He (I think this is a cob!) made such a splish-splash, I stopped trying to photograph swans about to fly, to get a few shots of him enjoying a bathe. The bathing went on, and on, and on. It was the most elaborate and exuberant bathing I've seen, and don't swans like to take their time, with all those feathers to clean?

This is a view from the balcony that could be admired in the evening. The power of the phenomenon of a huge storm swept through our country. It all happened almost without wind, and we felt like spectators on a balcony in a theater of nature, admiring the power of the Creator.

Well, it seems winter isn't done with us yet ... just as we were beginning to see the shingles on our rooftops and the gravel in our driveways Mother Nature decided to blanket it all with more snow - and she is not done yet apparently. Those weather wizards are calling for another 20 cm's of snow over the next 3 days. You can see the sun trying to peek through in this photo but he (the sun is a he and the moon is a she - right?) never really succeeded as the day progressed ... the clouds bearing snow won the day.
Yes, it is a colour photograph. :)

Yesterday's weather was brutal. Twenty-five mile an hour winds with the wind chill .... too darn cold! I've been feeling down without my camera in hand so I dragged Kipp out into the weather to see the sparrows. They seemed happy to sit in the sun yet many were in their cozy Lobster Traps.
This one was so happy to show off his best side:) I may spend the rest of the year photographing these darlings...
... I found a friend ♥
This Blue sat down on my hand and opened its wings to the golden light of sunset just in the moment when I grabbed my camera :-)
Yesterday it rained all day, so there was not much photography outside. But with the porch door open I could take a shot of this wet beauty. Have a nice week everyone!
