It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s … caught in flight, a pelican dives into the Pacific Ocean at sunset at Mission Beach in San Diego, California.
What a unique sighting...a bald eagle down in the water, hunting ring-necked ducklings. Unsuccessful, it took off from the lake, landing atop a nearby snag where it hung its wings loose, to dry in the wind.

Kuntala waterfalls is a beautiful place in Telangana. We could not go near the falls as it was dangerous. Half a kilometer away from the falls the flow and the nature around is beautiful.
A fake, movie prop tree stands out like a sore thumb against real greenery at the Hobbiton Movie Set in Matamata, New Zealand. My black and white, infrared-converted camera shows grass and other plants as white, but the metal and plastic tree atop Bag End (home of Bilbo and Frodo Baggins) is black. (Oct. 21, 2022)

Schiefergrube Christine. Underwater urbex. Cavediving or overhead diving is mentioned as the most difficult way of diving. And to take pictures, there is absolutely not natural light. The light you see in the pictures is brought by the divers and the photographer. This picture is taken about 280m in an old slate mine in Germany. With 2 strobes on the camera and 1 strobe on every diver (so 4 in total) this picture is taken. The way back to surface is at least as long as the way in. On the way back you can get some decompression obligations.
After a long day of exploring the Boboli and Bardini Gardens in Florence, we walked a somewhat meandering route to the Piazzale Michelangelo. It was full of people waiting in anticipation to see the city in her sunset glory. As I took the picture, I realized that rain clouds were rolling in.
