I opened my Langston Hughes poetry book today at a random page; this is the first poem I saw.

I Dream A World
by Langston Hughes
I dream a world where man
No other man will scorn
Where love will bless the earth
And peace its path adorn.
I dream a world where all
Will know sweet freedom's way
Where greed no longer saps the soul
Nor avarice blights our day.
A world I dream where black or white
Whatever race you be
Will share the bounties of the earth
And every man is free.
Where wretchedness will hang its head
And joy, like a pearl,
Attends the needs of all mankind--
Of such I dream, my world!
⭐⭐Wow! Never been on Explore before; it is very exciting!!

The National Cherry Blossom Kite Festival, held on the grounds of the Washington Monument, under a dramatically gloomy sky.
Had to capture the perfect winter lighting while baby and I waited in the hall for brother and sister. One of the few shots of 2022 that wasn't recording kids growing! Spontaneous, and one of my best.
One of the most recognizable rock features in the park, Half Dome's appearance as a perfect round shape cut in half is an illusion seen from the Valley floor. From the air, it's an elongated angular wedge, and I couldn't resist clicking the shutter from this angle of one of it's smooth sides bathed in late afternoon sunlight and smoke particulate in the atmosphere catching the setting sun's last rays of the day.
I had the privilege to hike to a very remote crystal clear lagoon under the southern hemisphere skies in the Atacama desert in Chile. It was a challenge as the hike was an hour each way on rough salt flat terrain at 12,000 feet elevation and in the dark. It was also very cold. Our small group led by guides had to stay single file on a narrow path because these massive salt flats may have water under the surface and can swallow you like quicksand! This photo was the only moment when the air was so still, the stars' reflection in the lagoon were not trailed and appeared brighter than the actual stars above. It was also magical overhead with the Milky Way accompanied by two satellite galaxies: the small and large Magellanic Clouds. Taken with a Canon 6D and a 14mm Sigma Art lens @f/1.8. ISO 6400. A single 20 second exposure.
I began to realize how important it was to be an enthusiast in life. If you are interested in something, no matter what it is, go at it full speed ahead. Embrace it with both arms, hug it, love it and above all become passionate about it. Lukewarm is no good. Hot is no good either. White hot and passionate is the only thing to be.

The road to Loch Etive was featured in the 2012 Bond blockbuster Skyfall, starring Daniel Craig and Dame Judi Dench. The shot was taken on the Dalness Estate in Glen Etive. The water to the left is the River Etive.
“Flying may not be all plain sailing, but the fun of it is worth the price.” - Amelia Earhart.
This beautiful Blythe doll is Patty Patch, posing for the theme “Flying” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. I’m dedicating this picture to my mother, who, as a young woman, took flying lessons and got her private pilot’s license. She was a fun-loving person and did it on a whim. Go, Mom!
Attracted by the colourful exterior of a school, I brought my camera there with me, not knowing what to expect. While I was waiting for someone to walk into my frame, a delivery guy rode past me. His red outfit matched perfectly with the background.
It was shot in Jan. Hong Kong was seriously hit by the pandemic at that moment. The colours in this picture brightened up my day.

This Spring I watched a pair of Cardinals build their nest, sit on the eggs, hatch the babies, and coax the fledglings out of the nest. What a thrill. I checked on them every day. This shot was taken while the chicks were still in the nest, but mom and dad would fly out to coax them out of the nest.
