I faintly heard water splashing outdoors and went out to see what I was hearing. The rut wasn't far off and this was an evening of fun and engagements between all the deer that had gathered in the meadow and I was so blessed to be there to witness and photograph their interactions. Doe's were playing with spikes and some of the fawns got in on the games with the adults. These two spikes liked sparing in the water and this is one of my favorite moments from the evening.

"Our revels now are ended. These our actors,
As I foretold you, were all spirits and
Are melted into air, into thin air:
And, like the baseless fabric of this vision,
The cloud-capp’d towers, the gorgeous palaces,
The solemn temples, the great globe itself,
Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve
And, like this insubstantial pageant faded,
Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff
As dreams are made on, and our little life
Is rounded with a sleep."
The Tempest, Act 4 Scene 1
This Northern Flicker landed on a plastic container not knowing it was slick and icy. I caught her trying to keep her balance.
This scene is a detail of a larger image which I cropped to draw attention to the elegantly curved shapes of the moss and water drops. For this particular picture, I had to choose a very shallow depth of field in order to get a homogeneous background. However, I also took some pictures with a wider depth of field to reveal more details on the subject. These will follow soon (as well as the original image).
I am thinking about getting a tripod from my Christmas money, so I may try focus stacking in the future :-)
I’ve been tidying up so as to make room for Christmas. Buried in the clutter, I found three strips of negatives. These are from the days I used a Pentax SP 500 SLR camera. The negatives were battered and dusty, and how they got there, a mystery. With the aid of an app on the phone and the light from the screen of my laptop, I ‘rescued’ three images I liked. This is one of them. My sister identified it as the walkway at Bapco beach in Bahrain. The walkway went from the beach to a platform in the sea. The image makes me feel happy, so I guess I really enjoyed swimming there. For now, back to tidying. But in 2023, I will retrieve the cache of negatives, carefully stored in the attic, and look for more treasures. There are a lot, so I’ll just take my time and enjoy it.
I believe the world is incomprehensibly beautiful...an endless prospect of magic and wonder.

I went to Golden Ears Provincial Park last week to capture some more fog. While in the forest, the sun came through and this is what happened. I was in awe, as the rays came out in every direction and I could see them no matter where I looked. It felt like something very supernatural was happening.
Today Seattle had, for the 2nd day, the honor of having the worst Air Quality on the planet. This small place provided respite. #Scale for winning and for the Gunner manicata, the primordial-looking gigantic leaf, the biggest one visible here, at least 3 vertical feet.

Mont-Saint-Michel is one of the most fascinating heritage sites in Europe. It is a tidal island with a fortified medieval village that developed beneath a beautiful Gothic-style Benedictine abbey,

Thank you all for taking the time to view and comment on my image. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, I cannot answer them all personally, but they are so much appreciated.
Located in Macy’s in NYC, this is their famous “preserved” wooden staircase. I was lucky to find this tourist fascination empty of people for my photo!

I'd been looking forward to this weekend for ages. It was my climbing club dinner, and I'd booked the Friday off work to make the most of it. Woke up Friday morning, oh, my throat feels a bit scratchy. Sure it'll sort itself out. A negative LFT later and I was off. Of course, throughout the day I got progressively worse and had to admit that I was coming down with something. So disappointed! Fortunately, it's only a cold but would've been highly selfish to turn up and infect everyone else.
Ahh well, it was good while it lasted. An absolutely stupendous sunrise was had overlooking the Snowdon Horseshoe and the Gwynant Valley, resplendent with a mini-rainbow and temperature inversion. Also had an enjoyable mooch up onto the hill before heading home.
This is one of those places you can just hang out and wait for the right moments and people to happen.
Patience = luck.

We get so few foggy days that I took complete advantage of this one. Walking for miles and enjoying all the scenery.

On my way to work one misty morning, I had to stop and capture these sheep moving across the field into the distance, as the conditions were perfect for a very atmospheric shot.

“I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge
That myth is more potent than history
That dreams are more powerful than facts
That hope always triumphs over experience
That laughter is the only cure for grief
And I believe that love is stronger than death.”

On May 12 it's ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia International Awareness Day.
This week we try to bring awareness, recognition, and support those who suffer ME, CFS, and conditions with similar effects.
This is an issue close to me. I suffered from CFS for years. Family members, and neighbors still do. Everyone probably knows someone who does. It is a trial, a seemingly endless journey.
I wish you light, life, energy, health of mind, and body.
Blue for you - ME 2022 is the theme on Smile on Saturday this week (7-May-2022).
Find smiles wherever you can! 😘😀😍😄❤❣♥😎🐴🐸🐱👽
