I bought a handful of little point & shoot cameras today at an antique store. Two of them seem to be functional, one seems to be broken, and the fourth is untested (but it's one of those focus-free plastic cameras, so there's not much to break in those).
Walked around Alton shooting with one of them today, then walked around the Loop a bit, then got some ramen to make up for yesterday.
...after my return home. Jan, my boyfriend, had returned earlier some ten days ago - we spent two weeks together travelling around the Pelloponese in Greece and I stayed longer for the renovation of the " new " apartment my parents bought. He's been reading this book and got torn. So, I fixed it a little bit by using this old Ikea wrapping paper.
Product application. Experimenting with pastel colours and scale to create wrapping paper and stationery box. Totally the opposite effect from previous board.

I finally started my Christmas shopping yesterday, and after doing a little more this afternoon I began wrapping my purchases. I love wrapping presents, but anything without sharp corners is going into a bag this year. I have too many of them and want them gotten rid of!
P.S. Congrats to my buddy tharrin for completing his 365 today!
*SOLD*
The art on these is gorgeous and you have to love the Santa Alvin packaging on the wrapping paper! Most likely some of the first items to use the new Chipmunk Adventure animation art.
florian's niece lisa is visiting from germany this weekend. while here, she found out that she'd gotten into the university she'd wanted. she was thrilled -- because the program there includes photography. and then, almost on cue, her camera broke.
so while she and her friend were traipsing around manhattan with disposable windups, i went to target and bought her a new camera.
i kinda like being a tante.

I made this altered book last year using a composition book , scrapbook paper, felt stickers, buttons, a vellum Christmas quote and a couple of old Christmas cards. It has two sections in it, one to keep track of the gifts we are giving ,and one to list the cards we have sent, and received. It's a great way for me to have everything in one place. I am a big list maker and I used to keep my Christmas gift list is the back of my yearly planner and a plan notebook for my card list. I like having it all in one place, and it will be nice to be able to look back over the years.

Random Fact #10 -- I am 25 years old. As of today. (!)
People have a hard time guessing my age. They always guess a lot older or a lot younger. Then again, I'm terrible with ages - I tend to constantly just think people I enjoy are roughly the same age as me.
My whole life I've gravitated towards people who were older than me, to the extent that I often feel I can't relate to people my own age. I blame it on being the youngest of five children.
Yesterday, December 5, was Dutch 'Sinterklaas'. Saint Nicholas, a generous bishop, travels to Holland to give all children presents. His helpers throw the presents down the chimneys - as seen above. So the image for the 5th is this not very pc wrapping paper I found at my mother's house, from the seventies I guess.

For Father's Day, 2006, my wonderful daughter wrapped a present to me in this self-created wrapping paper. Of course, this is the monolith from 2001: A Space Odyssey. She knows it's my favorite iconic image from my favorite movie.

One of the Christmas presents my parents sent me this year was this 3DS game. It's gotten kind of terrible reviews so far, but I want to play it anyway. More on why that is here: www.thegaygamer.com/2014/12/santa-brought-me-this-copy-of...

I created some custom wrapping paper with a roll of brown kraft paper, paints, and simple foam stamps. It was fun to do, and I like the way it came out, but tape didn't stick to it very well when I wrapped the package! Oh well -- I used ribbon to hold it together instead.
