I love this shop, it's been there for as long as I can remember. I buy most of my greetings cards there. They sell prints and posters, gifts and stationery. The staff are always so helpful and polite. I'd be devastated if they closed. It's one of my favourite London shopfronts and I like the gate very much. Thank goodness I photographed this when I did as there is now a row of Boris' Bikes infront. In January the bikes had all been removed. I wonder why? They're now back again.

The Medici Society was founded in 1908 by Philip Lee Warner and Eustace Gurney. The shop opened in the 1930s and is believed to be the oldest greeting card specialist in London.

This is our tree this year. I love sitting in the evening when everyone else has gone to bed and just look at the tree.

I'm always game to save money in any way I can. Gift wrapping can be very expensive, even if you buy it on sale after the holidays. One inexpensive way to wrap gifts is by using brown kraft paper. You can buy it in big rolls very inexpensively at home improvement stores, but I find that if I keep the stuff that comes in packaging throughout the year, I never have to buy any, in fact I always have a pretty good sized stash.

Gift Wrapped in Gold paper with Silver ribbon.

It took me a little time to think about this one!! So, in the end I used some light green "see-through" wrapping paper that my wife has to block out some light. I did like the effect the light made when falling across the paper!

Thanks to everyone who views this photo, adds a note, leaves a comment and of course BIG thanks to anyone who chooses to favourite my photo .... thanks to you all.

There were years I wouldn’t take our tree or decorations down until late February as I loved the afterglow and calmness of the lingering warmth, light and LOVE of the spirit of giving and sharing during the holiday season. Times have changed and I find I need to pack away all the *red* and celebrate the green. The four seasons are something I treasure about living in New England. But now the weather patterns are changing so rapidly I’m wondering if it’s just my age or the speed at which life seems to be moving so quickly, affecting our lives like never before? Well, we still have Valentine’s Day to bring out some more RED! And now we may soon be covered with white snow to calm us down again amongst the storms which are frequenting and circulating our earth. Hanging onto the peace and memories of old-fashioned times gone by. Wherever you are in the world, may you be experiencing the joys of color which can really affect our senses.

Yes! I confess … I’m addicted to all things paper, fiber, colorful, whimsical, and eclectic! Wrapping the images up in a PHOtage is just the most FUN to tie the process all together … the gifts that keep on giving!
