Direct scan of a lovely piece of vintage wrapping paper from the early 1980s. I wrapped the first gift I gave to my fiance (now my husband) in this paper.
Taken with a Canon 35mm f/2 lens. Type L for a better view.

Happy Holidays to all!
Modular Origami Star (Maria Sinayskaya)
squares, 6 units, no glue
The first iteration of this star was created in 2013, but on closer inspection I realised the folding sequence wasn't exactly right.
The star above is a new, corrected version - although it looks the same to the naked eye.

This year, I'm late getting my gifts wrapped, packed and shipped to my family in Ontario. Hopefully Canada Post does not let me down!

Reflecting spoons are altogether too much fun! You're going to see still more of them, my friends! This week I'm going to post some inversions of shots I've made. Here the spoons look rather toothy! The black shadows have inverted to white!!

I just revamped my entire scrapbook/guest room. I painted some old bookcases black. I rearranged furniture, painted my bulletin board, and covered it in damask felt wrapping paper. I also got a metal ruler, attached it to my wall with double sided tape and stuck some magnetic storage tins on it.
Alex gave me a nice new Timbuktu bag (he already gave me one this year, but it's now the diaper bag) and it was wrapped in this sweet paper.
I used metallic ink and you can see a change in sheen across this image. It's because of the lighting I used when shooting the sheet.

Sorry to take so long with December's Welcome. I have been working like a mad women trying to decorate the house for this past weekend for the granddaughter's. I had a Christmas cookie baking night for Monique and Jasmine and a friend of theirs. At the last minute I decided I would decorate the house for them all Christmasy. Well, while I was unwrapping the Christmas decorations Tessa decidied to give me a hand and run in and out of the wrapping paper. She had so much fun checking every thing out. She'll have even more fun when the Christmas tree goes up next weekend. Please drop by to check out all the fun here in San Diego as we watch through Tessa's eyes the mircle of her FIRST CHRISTMAS.
